Gilmore came out to repair a 12 year old heater unit and they wanted to replace the control board and a few other parts. $1,200 dollars is what they quoted me. The control board was $700 from them just for the part along with the ignitor at $130. I bought both parts for under $150 and installed them in 20 minutes. Gilmore are total ripoffs....They also tried selling me on just replacing the whole system for $7-8,000 dollars.

Poor customer service. Explained to representative that I literally just had a insured heating and air company diagnose that my gas valve needed to be replaced and asked them to give me a quote of what the price would be if that is in fact the case. The representative refused to give me a quote or even a range without me scheduling an appointment and paying the diagnostic fee! Terrible! They are clearly looking for ways to up sell and are not looking for their prospective clients best interest.

Called Gilmore after Beutler again cancelled my appointment under my maintenance contract in January for my heating equipment. Beutler cancelled two of their last three appointments. Why should I pay them, get cancelled and have to do their scheduling?

Gilmore responded immediately, completed the needed inspection and made any adjustments needed. They are great professionals. I signed up for their annual maintenance service at a better price, and I got to cancel Beutler. Thanks Gilmore.

CONSUMER FRAUD ALERT. AVOID THESE CROOKS. They tried to scam me.

Believe the bad reviews you see here. The good reviews are from people that they either haven't scammed yet or who don't realize they got scammed.

Here is my story: My heater would not turn on so I called for a service call based on the reviews here and the fact that the office was one of the few that was open in the early evening when I needed to book the appointment. The technician showed up and did the diagnosis and told me I needed a new exhaust fan and heat exchanger to the tune of $3,600 and that I should really consider purchasing a new unit from them for $7K to $15K. He showed me pictures of heat exchanger with cracks in it and told me it was mine and made me sign a form informing me of the carbon monoxide danger. He said that the exhaust motor was seized up and that he tried but was unable to unseize it.

Something seemed fishy with this guy.

So I did a google search and find out the parts for $400 total including 2-day delivery. I had a local independent HVAC contractor come over for a second opinion and provide an estimate and 10 minutes later the system was up and running. He said the exhaust fan motor was out of place and he pushed it back. Simple fix. And he said that the heat exchanger looked new and that even if it needed replacing that there was a good chance that my unit has a lifetime warranty on the exchanger. I told him about Gilmore's recommendation and he said that they are known for pulling this scam. I showed him the pictures of the cracked heat exchanger and he said that the pictures were of an entirely different unit then the one that I have.

So for $125 my unit is back up and running. They even cleaned out the wasp nests from the unit that Gilmore wanted to charge me extra to remove. BTW, even if I did need the repairs, the local contractor would have done them for under $1,000. And to think Gilmore tried to get me for $3,600.

However I still feel scammed because I paid Gilmore for a service call that provided no value.

I'm trying to figure out which regulatory agencies to report this company to. In the meantime, I strongly advise other consumers to avoid doing business with them - or at least get a 2nd opinion before letting them do any repairs.

OH MY GOODNESS. From the first minute, this EXTREMELY HELPFUL, extremely customer oriented business was above and beyond the expected. I first met with Ryan, he was amazing, for a job at a rental home I manage. He was so very polite, knowledgeable, and helpful. He gave us many options on the new AC system that the owners wanted. Even though the people that own the home went with another service due to specific reasons, Ryan still followed up with me and offered to COME PERSONALLY to check out my own home HVAC system and let me know if all was up to par, free of charge, (for just a quick look over ) but STILL above and beyond. I was honestly too busy to arrange a time for that, but he told me of an out -of-this-world special deal for AC tuneup and let me know who to call. I made the call and set up an appointment. The receptionist was beyond kind. They let me use my experience with Ryan and his word-of-mouth discounted special instead of the mailer or real life coupon for the exceptional tune-up discount. (They also advertised the 58$ special online in springtime).... Anyhow, the wait was a month for the tuneup but I didn't mind at all seeing as it wasn't hot yet and I'd waited a bit too long to call anyhow (almost summer).

The day before the tuneup, they called and confirmed the technician's arrival and again, super duper polite receptionist. (I forget her name though, wish I remembered it!) Anyhow, Mike the technician arrived the next day and was just absolutely wonderful. He even got along with our 3 year old son and went through each step of the cleaning and tuneup with us. He also filled us in on our American Standard system and it's age. He did NOT TRY TO SELL US UP at all, he actually let us know that our system happened to be working wonderfully, like really really cold AC. He mentioned the membership system with Gilmore and told us how it worked. He also told us that since our package system seemed to be in great condition, if we couldn't afford that right now, we could always just look for tuneup specials when needed. I cannot recommend this honest, hardworking, thorough company enough. I LOVE that I didn't feel cornered into buying something more or becoming a member. I was a little leery of that beforehand (I wondered if perhaps they only had such great specials to try to get us to upgrade our system or something) and so I was so thrilled that Mike was so honest and thorough, and yet laid back enough to mention boogie boarding in Hawaii with our son and make a couple jokes. Seriously, Gilmore is the jam.

Oh yea, to top it off they followed up with a check -in call to make sure all went well.
GILMORE THANK YOU SO MUCH, we will recommend you to friends throughout the area! It is so relieving to have honest customer service and friendliness like I imagine they did back in the old days :)

Not at all impressed.....piss poor message follow thru, customer service person wanted to debate vs just scheduling my appointment. $176 dollars just for a diagnosis and waited for a tech to call back after 10!! Then all of a sudden they have an opening tomorrow AMAZING!!!

Inspite of my first contact I am pleasantly pleased that my AC is working again and cooling as it should.

My godfather was present at the time of repair...and purchased the monthly service agreement.

I had Gilmore installed my system on March 22, 2006. Everything works fine until March, 18, 2016. Gilmore receipt says compressor is 10 years warranty BUT March 18, 2016 is 4 days before the 10 year warranty!? When I went through the Amana warranty, the warranty clearly says ""lifetime warranty"". I even confirmed this by calling the Amana warranty! They were going to quote me for a new system when I just had the system they installed for just about 10 years!

Don't tell me 10-12 years is old! My house had the original heat pump since 1980 to 2006, and that's 26 years worth of service for an old heat pump unit! Also don't say that I needed regular service because you guys never showed up when I scheduled appointment, and when my wife called back, you guys hung up on my wife!

I contacted another company, came by for free estimates, and says he was able to replace the compressor. The compressor was replaced TODAY (3.25.2016)!

Avoid this company, they just want to sell you new unit instead of doing warranty repair!

I can't speak highly enough of Gilmore Heating Air Solar! We got quotes from a couple local companies and no one had the service level or professionalism of Gilmore. From the polite office staff, professional and well groomed techs (who always wore shoe/boot covers in our home), knowledgeable comfort advisers, clean vehicles, exceptional warranties and service, you really do get more with Gilmore!

Our 20 year old AC/propane heater unit had gone out in the middle of winter. Gilmore sent out two techs, Jeff D. and Mike H., right away to have a look. Both techs were professional, courteous, polite, and explained everything very thoroughly in a way that my wife and I could understand. Even though our unit was 20 years old and had been catching on fire, they still gave me a detailed quote for repair and explained my option to speak with a comfort adviser at my convenience about replacement.

I booked an appointment with a comfort adviser, Matt M. Matt arrived on time, was well prepared and was extremely knowledgeable about the heating and air industry. He went through the different options we could go with in terms of efficiency, cost, warranty, payment & financing options. With his input we selected a unit and set a date for installation.

The day of installation the professionalism and service continued. Mike and RJ arrived in the morning ready to remove the old unit and put the new one on. They were so good at what they did it was like a walk in the park for them. We were only there some of the time and felt completely comfortable leaving with them in our home. When the work was complete, the only thing that had changed was our heater and AC worked again, except way, way better than before. They left no trash behind, no shoe prints on the floor, no sign that they were ever even there whatsoever.

It is never fun to suddenly face a major expense for your home, but Gilmore made the experience a positive one by handling everything for us with a professional, organized, friendly approach. We have been considering getting some solar on our home and after this experience we will only make one call - to Gilmore. We highly recommend anyone in need of their services give them a call, you won't regret it!
