I called Gilmore out to bid a job. They came out on time as promised and were very professional, knowledgable, and friendly. BUT, they were triple the price of all the others! Sorry Gilmore, I just couldn't afford your services.

I am so happy with Gilmore Heat & Air. We had them come out and install a new AC/heat system for our home, and the estimate process was really refreshing. Brian was honest, and came up with some intelligent options for what we wanted. In the end he saved me money, rather than push for me to spend more. I joked that if they could get it installed before the heat wave hit next week, that Id be happy as could be.. and they actually moved my scheduled install date up to beat the heat by a day. They asked if we preferred them to come on Saturday rather than Tuesday after Memorial Day, and by doing that we didn't suffer in the 100 degree heat that happened over that weekend.

The install team was literally the best work crew Ive ever had at my home. They were professional, personable, and took really damn good care of my things. There was a lot of extra moving around of items that had to be done to finish the job. They didn't damage a thing, and treated my stuff like it was their own, even taking the time to organize it as they put it all back. I couldn't believe it. Not only was Justin amazing, but his helpers (Tyler, and Wyatt - I think was his name) were too.

Such a great team over at Gilmore. Great communication from office to estimator to the install team. Took the 3 guys about 5-6 hours to finish the job here, and our home is constantly cool now with no worries. The other amazing touch was I said I wanted to have something that didn't cost a lot for electricity. Well, I've been running things non-stop for several days now so I could take a look at our PGE usage.. its basically costing us a dollar or two per day to run this system on full blast. I cant tell you how happy I am with everything.

I had an appointment for the following day and I called to verify the time, but I was put on hold for a long period of time and when she returned she said their employee wasn't available and they would have to reschedule my appointment for another day. What? They advertise they have many, many employees, not just one. I cancelled the appointment. I'll go with a company that is more organised.

We needed a cartridge replaced in our Shower valve. (A $22 part at Home depot). The tech replaced the cartridge in one hour and charged us $335. A local handyman (who we should have called) charges $125 for the same job.

We wrote a letter to Darren Gilmore at his Placerville office. No response.

Beware!! My oil furnace stopped working. I was pretty sure the problem was the thermostat. Gilmore technician came out and didn't even check my thermostat. Instead he told me that my oil furnace needed to be replaced with a brand-new heat pump system. He gave me a ""ballpark"" estimate of $15,000. After a sleepless night, I called Jonas Heating and Air. He came over, checked the thermostat, replaced the 4 AAA batteries in it, and charged me $20. I think Gilmore is unscrupulous and unethical. Never again.

Had Gilmore come out the other day to replace a capacitor that I knew was bad (had happened once before). The charged amount on the invoice was $325.00 for the part -- just ordered the same exact part online for $54.00. I know that there's a mark-up on parts, but 500%. Wow!

Our landlord gets bi-yearly maintenance check ups on our heating/AC unit so we see the Gilmore team somewhat regularly. I always appreciate how courteous the technicians are, truly, they are so nice and professional! During our most recent visit, my almost 2 year old son was curiously watching what the technician was doing and the tech was so nice/friendly to him, asked him questions and just went above and beyond to be kind. It was so appreciated!! If I had one criticism, it would be that sometimes we are left with black handprints on our attic access doors from techs going up and down while working on our unit, however, I gladly accept this in exchange for their great service. The office staff is always very friendly and professional as well- I would absolutely recommend Gilmore!
