George T. Sanders and his wife Pauline started a modest company on April 1, 1950, to supply sheet metal and various materials to heating contractors in Denver, Colorado. The company opened its doors at 1111 Stout Street in the heart of Denver. By 1952, the company had outgrown its original site and relocated to 7821 West Colfax Avenue in Lakewood.

The company relocated again in 1962 to new premises at 1365 Harlan Street. Up to that time, the company concentrated on heating and sheet metal. Deciding to enter the plumbing sector became one of the most crucial choices for the company. Today, the George T. Sanders Company is known as a top plumbing supply house in Colorado.

In 1965, land was acquired across the street at 1370 Harlan Street. This site saw the construction of a metal warehouse and a small office in 1966. New product lines were continually introduced, and the workforce expanded. Reed holds the position of Manager at the George T. Sanders Company.
