Been using them for 15 years and they have just gone down hill!
Called about problem with AC unit June 2nd that they installed 11 years ago, took them 2 weeks to look at it charged me $350 to come out and tell me it was dead.
We authorized them to repair or replace for just under $4k 2 weeks go by and I have to call to find out whats up, only to tell me rebuild kit parts were on back order. I suggested we just replace the outside unit and I got oh it will be a miss match, then follow up next day saying parts had shipped that day (June 31) and due to 4th holiday they would not get till next week. OK parts come in and they install and find (Oh we need a new outside fan motor another $650), but they will get it next day and if it comes in early we have it done same day (Thursday) otherwise Friday. And of course it's Sat now and no one came or called.
So now my rental unit has been without AC in heat of summer for 6 weeks, and given Sherman's initial delay of 2 weeks to just look at it. Clients are upset that I tell them work will be done by time they check in only to find not done. I look bad, get bad reviews so I am sharing my pain.
It is time to find a reliable vendor!! Not these guys
Iam writing to express my disappointment with Sherman. Have used this company for years and needed a new HVAC system. The price at 17,000$ was so overpriced! So disappointed in the direction this company has taken.
Allison B.I am writing to express my disappointment in the service received from George Sherman Plumbing. I own a condo in Dewey Beach, De. My condo board requested a plumber check the crawlspace under my building for a possible leak. The condo board paid Sherman $571 for a repair to a leaking tub drain that allegedly belonged to my unit. Then billed my account for reimbursement.
For 4 months we have tried to locate the origins of the leak by speaking with the Sherman plumber, office staff and the field supervisor. We have received 4 amended invoices and one amended ""work order"" from Sherman as well as emails from our association board that has changed what was repaired (tub drain or faucet), where it was repaired (in the unit or the crawl space) and in which of our 2 bathrooms the leak supposedly originated. The plumber took a picture of the repair in the crawl space that showed white PCV pipes. Both of our bathrooms have old, black metal pipes. On January 13, 2023 my husband dropped light-sticks from our tub pipes (through wall hatches) into the crawlspace to provide a reference point for the location of our 2 tubs to assist finding the PVC piping of the repair. (It had already been stablished we did not have PVC pipes as shown in the picture.) Upon entering the crawlspace with my husband, the plumber went straight to the light-stick of our guest bathroom (which we had identified), took a NEW picture and said he had originally taken the wrong picture of the repair (white PVC vs metal pipes?) It should also be noted that the latest invoice states the repair was to the master bath while this ""new"" picture taken by the plumber was of the guest bath plumbing.
I believe Sherman Plumbing has played a ""bait and switch"" game for 4 months and has lost my trust and any credibility in identifying the leaking pipe. While the bill was reduced by $149 due to their ""confusion"", I believe the bill should be waived by Sherman. My husband has made 4 trips from Virginia to Delaware and back to inspect the latest so-called location of the leak, each time proving the plumber wrong. Our condo association has used Sherman Plumbing exclusively for winterization, boiler maintenance, and plumbing repairs for years. Based on this lengthy relationship with the company, numerous emails, phone conversations, changing photos and modified invoices from George Sherman the charge of $422 should have been removed.
I would not recommend George Sherman Plumbing based on their lack of integrity, professionalism, the questionable quality of their work and poor documentation.
Christine H.I'd give a zero if I could. Came out, found no leak, and still charged a repair fee. They did nothing!
I have used George Sherman Corp. for many years. Because of the new EPA Freon requirements, I needed a new HVAC system. Elias, the project manager, arranged for the installation flawlessly. Not only was the installation immediate, the tech, Eric, who did the installation, was simply outstanding. He was thorough and efficient with a patient and friendly demeanor but, other than a brand new system that was installed in less than 48 hours, you would never know he was here. It was a huge undertaking that I was resolved to have to clean up afterward, but Eric belied my expectation by cleaning so thoroughly that it only added to my complete satisfaction.
Thank you Eric, Elias and George Sherman Corp.
