I have hired George Miller several times over the last 10 years. He has done installations for me on a new accessory apartment, and as a licensed plumber in Putnam he got all the required permits too. His work has always been excellent, and I have found him very knowledgeable about plumbing and construction and his prices are very fair. Not all jobs are pretty - once I had a malfunctioning sewage ejector system, and he had no qualms about getting down and dirty to find a fix. He has always returned calls very quickly, even on a holiday, and is generous and exact with his advice, sending pictures back and forth to help diagnose the problem. He is an excellent communicator with a lot of varied plumbing experience who seems to like the challenge to solve a problem. Most recently I had a no-water problem while he was on another big job and he loaned me some well control boxes to switch out to logically diagnose whether it was the well pump itself. He put a lot of office time into my problem explaining to me on the phone how to take the electrical readings and didn't even want to charge me for the time afterwards, because he was on another job he had to complete. A very nice guy! Thanks to him, I was able to get the well pump replaced the next day, because of the correct diagnosis. It's comforting to know that I have a local plumber who cares enough to help me solve my plumbing problem. I highly recommend George if you want someone who has a lot of plumbing expertise and can handle tricky repairs as well as new installations.

I found George to be concise, straightforward and fair. He was an excellent and detailed communicator both on the phone and via email. I was having the repair work done remotely - I live in Colo. In order to convey the scope of his work he emailed me pictures of the next set of problems he would be repairing. He had 1 visit to provide estimate which he did not charge for. The cabin had not been winterized and their was damage to well and sump pumps, pipes, and toilet. He assessed estimates and met them. He went above and beyond is work in providing recommendations to electrician on optimal locations for electrical fixtures, as well as spotting other problems he encountered which was out of his area of expertise.

No question that Mr. Miller is a knowledgeable plumber but his attitude and lack of communication skills are extremely poor. We recently asked for an estimate on a project which took three visits to get and then found ourselves with an unexpected invoice for 3 hours of work. While trying to find a fair resolution, he threatened to sue us. Proceed at your own caution, and remember that there are many good plumbers in the area. The other plumbers gave us full repair estimates (from just one visit) without charging a penny.

Mr. Miller did all the plumbing in our large extension. He was very thorough, and from listening to his advice I could see that he was extremely knowledgeable in the latest plumbing codes, safety, and technology. His quote was competitive, but best of all, his communication is second to none. He returns calls promptly and shows up as scheduled. He always took the high road when dealing with surprise problems on the job site.

We recently had a problem with recurring pinholes in the older copper pipe sections of the house. Mr. Miller immediately diagnosed acidic water from our iron rich well, and installed a neutralizer. The pinholes stopped occurring immediately. He now services the neutralizer regularly for us.

If you want something fixed CORRECTLY call Miller. I have dealt with other local plumbers that seem to fudge things just to get them fixed long enough to bill you.

Regarding the boss, George: Worst attitude I've ever encountered for someone who provides a home service. And made a huge mess in my home and did no cleanup.
