Naseem T.I made a plumbing claim through my Choice Home Warranty policy and this business was assigned. After doing some research, I'm doubtful this individual is even a plumber or skilled tradesperson at all. He showed up to my rental property, took a look, vaguely told my tenant a new part was needed and he'd get back in touch. He had also told me that he'd follow up with me to explain what the issue and solution was when I made the appointment, which he never did. Over the past two weeks, I've contacted him 4-5 times, leaving multiple messages, with no response whatsoever. Take a look at the other reviews on Yelp, especially the filtered ones. This guy is a scam artist. He cashed our check, never to be heard from again, and had clearly been doing the same to others for years. He also has no regular clientele-only individuals that have been assigned through their home warranty-which is also very telling.
The downside to home warranties is that often the rates they are paying and the paperwork that has to be completed deter hardworking, competent professionals and you get stuck with folks that aren't that great, or like in this situation, completely suck. On hold with the home warranty company now to try and have someone else assigned and actually get the issue fixed.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS-it's well within your rights to ask your home warranty company to assign someone else, especially if it's not a time-sensitive matter. Wish I had followed my own advice this time.
Beth S.Our heat went out on Tuesday, November 24th. Mr. Foster came by a few days later. He decided we needed a new circuit board for our HVAC. We tried to contact him many times. He responded saying he needed to see if the part he ordered had come in (about a week later). He has not responded to our calls since. We have been without heat for 2 weeks (November & December). The temperature outside has dropped recently, making us more concerned about our family, home, and water pipes. Our home warranty people reached out to another contractor, which responded quickly and said it was fuses that were needed, not a new circuit board. I would never recommend George Foster for any reason. Obviously he must be unorganized and unattentive.
Dominique S.do not use george foster plumbing. totally unprofessional. he showed up, and left with 75 bucks, said that a part was missing and that it would be covered by choice and that he would be back in three days. three weeks have gone by, not one word. never came back. choice called him, and she said that he was very rude and she is going to write a complaint against him and not use him anymore. he basically stole my 75 bucks.
Brenda G.i had a leak under my kitchen sink and called home serve who i have plumbing coverage with and they assigned the job to this company. the first time he came out he thought it was a loose connection but had to call him back because there was still a leak. he came back out and said he needed to order a part and it would b in in 2 to 3 days. that was 4 weeks ago and i have called every week and the person at his office always says she will have him call me and no call. last week i had to get home serve involved again and the person at his office told the representative that she had not rescheduled my work because he had already been to my house and the rep had to be insistent to her that my service needed to be rescheduled immediately. got a call and was scheduled for 6/30/20 only to have them call me that day to cancel and reschedule to 7/4/20 and then today 7/3 she calls to reschedule again for a week from now. when told that was not acceptable she told me to call home serve which i did. she then proceeded to tell the home serve person that she had offered me service on monday, 7/6, which was another lie. i cannot deal with a company who is dishonest and tells one story to the customer and another to the people who assign them work.
Dion B.One call it's all done. I needed to move an outlet to hang my tv so I called this company again since I'd had a great experience before, unbeknownst to me the tech not only moved the outlet but the cable connection too! I thought I was going to have to hire a different company for that part. The wall doesn't even look like it was touched. 2 different appointments in 2 months both times I was impressed with the professionalism & expertise.
Watch out for these guys. They were contracted through HomeServe warranty company to service my outside heat pump unit. They inspected the unit and said the capacitor was bad. They said they had replaced the bad capacitor but the fan motor started squealing a few hours after they left. I contacted the warranty company again and they sent out a different company. Zach, the service technician from Clean Air Technology, found George Foster had left the badly swollen capacitor installed and just wired a smaller capacitor to the bad capacitor. This setup would have eventually blown up the capacitor and created quite a bit of collateral damage to the unit and possibly my home. Unfortunately, Zach's fix was also wrong and just as incompetent.
Kudos to Simon from Automatic Climate, the third company, who took the time to finally get the unit fixed correctly. It actually needed a new fan motor and a properly sized capacitor.
Lessons learned: 1-you must visually inspect the work these technicians have done before they leave and 2- get in writing, what did they find and then do to correct the issue, before they leave the premises. Do not sign a blank phone or tablet screen before it is filled out and you have a copy for your records.
Mike L.Reported A/C malifunction to home warranty company on 19 June 2019. George Fosters Services (GFS) won the job even though his office is about seventy miles from my home. I questioned the distance but was told they had to respond to the dispatch. They came to house on the 20th of June. Told me I needed a TXV part. They supposedly ordered the part on 21 June. I waited until the 25th with no call from GFS, I called, told parts on order.26th, 27th no calls, I called on the 28th, told parts on order should be in on Monday the 1st of July. I called on the 1st was told parts on order.I asked to speak to GF himself, he gave me a story of OEM part, hard to get should be in on the 2nd of July. GFS technician showed up on 3rd. Told me the job would take two to three hours. Five hours later he tech still could not install the part. GF himself said he would be down here on Monday the 8th see what the problem was. I told tech that wasn't acceptable and told him that since he had extracted all the Freon from the system I would have to move to a motel for tge 4th
weekend due to health issuses and I would send tye bill to GFS. Technician told GF what I said, GF fired the tech. told him to come home and fill out termination papers. The tech left with all the Freon and half the cabinet panel screws. I call GF and told him how disgusted I was with him and his company. He quit answering his phone as I tried to call him several more times I called the home warranty company, they tried to GF but he would not answer their call. All this occurred on the 3rd of July. On the5th of July the home warrant company tried to call GF, wih no answer. They assigned another company to the job, that company came out tye next day looked at the mess of solder Piled around the new part GFS tried to install discovered the part was destroyed from the continuous hear and flame GFS's tech applied to it and told me the parts are ready available and would have one on Monday the 8th. New company called Monday to set up install time, weather prevented the repair, but the new company was on the job at 8AM today, 9 July, part installed in two hours because GFS has removed and kept the Freon so the new company did not have to do that. System working great.
Sooo, GFS could not get the part for 12 days in Richmond. New company in York county got it over the weekend from Richmond. GFS could not get part, technician not ablevto install part because he tried to install.with a torch instead of sweating it in. Part is heat sensitive, burner cooked it. Be very cautious with this company.
The serviceman Ted that came out to fix our plumbing problem was very professional.he fixed the problem and cleaned up. Will definitely use their service again
