Beware of predatory pricing!! A very simple toilet repair will cost you over $800. Technician said he would get a part from the van (which apparently does not even come stocked with simple fill valves) and be back in 10 mins, only to return well over an hour later. He volunteered that I would only be charged for an hour as the job was ""less than an hour"", but I end up getting charged for 3 hours. The cowardly office is not willing to even discuss with you on the phone...they just hide behind emails telling you over and over that the technician has no authority to discuss pricing and that you approved the small print of their GPS-based pricing, which they pressured me to approve while on the initial phone call with them in return for a prompt visit. 61 minutes means you will be charged for two hours of labor, and 121 minutes means you will be charged for three hours, and so on. And believe me, they control the minutes and you (and even the honest technician who is in your apartment) have no say whatsoever, even though the technician went to the wrong apt and got lost in my building! For all I know he got a coffee too! Beware of the small print!! An unethical and cowardly company. Other reviews have also indicated the same misleading pricing and dishonesty so this is not just a one-off criticism! BEWARE

Pricing is not transparent. Refused to provide ballpark estimate before starting work. Charges hourly and had to leave to go to supply store two separate times because no effort was made to understand the problem in advance and honestly I get the impression that is part of the business model. The technicians were excellent, professional, and did got the job done. That is the reason that I am giving two stars. But it ended up costing three times what I was quoted from other companies. I will not be going directly to this company again.

After updating my kitchen wanted a professional plumber to replace and connect all the plumbing fixtures under my sink, I called a few places in Brooklyn to get an estimate. Genuine Plumbing gave me the best price, a free written detailed estimate before the work and I had an appt within two days. The plumbers arrived on time, covered their shoes, wore masks and made sure everything was clean and perfect before leaving. The hook up was difficult because the sink was deeper than the waste pipe could accommodate the dishwasher Y pipe easily. He was not fazed, he called a plumbing supply company and went right out to purchase what he needed to complete the job. This is my go to company from now on.
I can't say enough about how professional and responsive they all are, from the office staff to the actual plumbers.

They are price gougers. Do not use them. They charge thousands of dollars. Spend weeks getting back to you but then harass you for payment if you don't respond to them within 24 hours. NEVER use them.

The two plumbers that Genuine sent over were very professional. The building where I am has ancient piping and the drains were completely clogged from over 60 years of wear & tear. They were thoughtful in their suggestions about how to fix the issue, kept me informed throughout and worked tirelessly the entire time. They even stayed working during their lunch break!

If you get Alan and/or Rasean you know you'll be in good hands.

They arrived on time and completed a bunch of plumbing needs perfectly. I'm happy with all work completed and wish I had called them/ hired them sooner! They were polite and neat and would definitely use them again and would recommend without hesitation

BAD company, poor customer service. Did a half-ass job to fix a simple issue (which they didn't fully resolve). Had to come back 3 different occasions because every time they came to do a fix, they would mess something else up. When I complained about the quality of their service and asked for a reduction in the cost given they didn't fully resolve the issue, all they had to say is to threaten with going to collections.

Companies like this should simply go out of business - they only survive by taking advantage of people that need an issue addressed and have few possible alternatives. As you can see by the average rating, I am not the only one to feel that way.

Martin and his helper, Robert, from Genuine, fixed the ancient main drainpipe in the building where I live, reinstalled my claw foot tub and sink, and really went the extra mile. Even working with this really old plumbing they did an excellent job and it looks well, too. Forever grateful. These guys are the best!

UPDATE: Not only was I grossly overcharged for two minutes of ""consulting"". I later found out from another plumber that my faucet was in fact not broken/cracked but simply needed a screw tightened. Maybe if they had stayed an extra few minutes and checked things more carefully, they would have been able to actually fix the issue. It would have saved me a trip to Lowe's to buy a faucet I thought in needed and a lot of money. I can't emphasize enough to steer clear of these crooks.

Genuine Plumbing was recommended to me by a family friend ...
I called for a backup in my kitchen sink. I live in Brooklyn and was having company over later that evening so needed it done asap! ...9am on a Saturday morning I called them by 10:30am the plumber was already working in my house. The plumber name was billy and the helper name was Elvis. Very professional and polite workers. They got the job done quick, cleaned up after themselves. I was able to have my company over that evening which was great ! That Monday I received a called from the office to make sure I was happy with my service I thought that was very nice .
