We suddenly stopped having hot water, so we gave the Genteel Plumbers a call. They, Marcus and Millton, came right on time and took a look at our old water heater(more than 15 yrs old at least). They advised us to replace with a newer model since it's a very old model. And within an hour, the huge water heater is replaced and installed. they are very professional and know exactly know what they are doing, also very courteous and explained things clearly. And before we knew it, we were having hot water again!

Broken bathroom sink hot water valve, and no way the thing was budging with the tools I have. Called Genteel Plumbers and they quickly arranged an appointment. The removal and replacement became a bit challenging, as the old valve was completely fixed in place (mineral deposits or rust, I have no idea), and the plumber let me know he would need additional equipment. He returned shortly with some sort of crazy electric saw and literally hacked off the top of the faucet so it could be removed. Installed new faucet quite quickly, cleaned the place up beautifully, and then called to check in several times in the coming weeks to make sure everything was working perfectly. Incredible service, very friendly folks, two enthusiastic thumbs up - will be calling them for our future plumbing needs. Keep up the great work.

Yesterday(Sunday), I had a ground level toilet and sink back up. Called Genteel Plumbers and they came over in about 30 mins. They diagnosed the problem and went to work. First they went at with the auger and then the power auger, neither worked. Went to the third option, which was the hydro blaster which got the problem solved. It actually turned out to that the main line out of the house was clogged.
Took them about 90 minutes to complete the journey. Very professional in explaining the process and costs. Good quality work at fair price. I would definitely call them back.

I appreciated their hard work and constant effort to figure out the problem.

I had a clogged pipe in my rental unit and the usual easy snaking did not help. Genteel spent a few hours trying to figure it out and eventually cleared the pipe. However, after they left we discovered that the pipe from the washer was also affected and flooded when used. They came back the next day and what we all thought was any easy fix, took two guys a few hours. So as frustrated as I was with the process, I felt the plumbers were competent and were trying everything they could do to fix these cascading problems. Eventually everything worked and they waited to make sure the washer could run a load without overflowing before leaving. They cleaned up after themselves well. Plumbing is super expensive these days and so this was way more than I expected to pay. In the end, they were there for almost 6 person-hours. My only suggestion is that they could have informed me on my first call about what were their base rates. Like other plumbers, they did not want to disclose anything up front and only when their person was there. But it was clear that they had standard rates and could have shared those for comparison.

My home's sever had a clogged more than 50ft into the pipes. Two other plumbers failed before them. They recommended the pressure cleaning and it has been working well for more than a year now!

They were also prompt and easy to communicate - highly recommended!

Had the basement drain start to overflow after my tenants took their morning showers. Called up Genteel down the street and they came same day, and hydro-jetted the house line pulling out what were a plug of large remnants of ""flushable wipes"" and paper towels.

A couple of days later, the basement drain backed up again, called them up, they came same day to do the same, no charge, and got more aggressive and pulled out what was described as a ""monumental"" amount of sewage. Because it wasn't all entirely solid and because of the amount pulled out, the tech called me and recommended a camera inspection. I agreed erring on the side of safety, they came out and confirmed that the pipes were clear and still intact.

Graham and Chris gave phenomenal customer service (and seem pretty straight forward and down to earth). Professional, courteous, and sensitive to COVID, they were able to address everything with social distancing in mind. It was my first time using them, and I'm thoroughly impressed. I'll be looking to them if/when I have sewer issues.
