There's no way to give a Zero rating!!!! We called Genuos back to blow air in the bathtub line which is what they did before and it worked like a charm. Totally willing to pay $125 which is what we paid before. My husband noticed on the receipt they gave from the previous job that they guaranteed the work for a year - it was only six months from the last appointment. When we asked, the guy says, ""oh it doesn't cover that!"" Then someone calls us back and says, yes it is covered, we'll come in a couple of hours. They show up with a hand held air tank that has to be hand-cranked. Not the same tank they used previously. I'm thinking that's not enough to fill a bicycle tire...but okay. Then the guy from Genuos says,"" it's not working, we'll have to charge $125 to route out the line."" Okay no problem. He comes back in with a hand held router - like the ones you use for a kitchen sink!!!!! After cranking for 3 to four minutes he says its not working, so we're gonna charge you $125 ????????? Mind you the tubs drained prior to them coming. But after he did what he did, there's standing water in both bathrooms.... Then my husband pushed back a little but told the son, ""just write the receipt."" He leaves out to go to the van and after a few minutes just drives off - and our tubs are completely backed up. I called this company on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. I explained that I had major issues with the radiator pipes leaking within the walls. Within a couple hours he had referred me to one of his employees who made an appointment to come at 8:00 AM. I called at 7:15 to tell him I was about to leave Des Plaines to arrive at the West Adams Address not later than 8:00 AM. He tells me he is about to jump in the shower. He arrives close to 10:00 AM and takes a look at the situation, then states he has to go pick up his helper. He returns around noon. They spend the rest of the afternoon tearing out the ceiling to find the source of the leak. Finally locating the leak they remove the pipe and then head out to Home Depot to purchase the replacement parts. He needed a 13' pipe which they did not carry, so he took the 10' and 3 12' pipes to piece together the required length. Needless to say it leaked. He skipped Thursday and returned Friday because there were additional leaks. He spent another day removing the 2nd broken pipe and was unable to put in the replacement. He sent me to the store for ""Mission sleeves"" to hold together the two ends of the pipe which he had to cut in order to fit into the space from which he had taken it. An observer told him that would not work. After a bit of haggling he called the boss, only to find out that the observer was correct. It gets worse a week later the place is still flooding from the pipes and I find out from a union plumber that he has installed the wrong type of pipes for the heating system. He left the water on the floor on Wednesday calling me to say that he had to go to the hospital to check on his baby, but would be back - he has not shown up to this day. I have not paid him for the ""additional work"" and with the new information he owes me a refund for the first day putting in the wrong pipes. This company is horribly unprofessional. They have left me in worse condition than I started out.

I called Genous plumbing and rodding on February 8, 2018. My toilet was backing up every time the water from the bathtub train. However, I could flush the toilet, I could use the kitchen sink, and other of drains without the toilet flushing. When I call I spoke to the owner. He was kind and friendly. He send the plumber who complained from the time he enter my house about what he had to do to get to the drain. Every moment he complained. He was here for 5 hours supposedly draining the sewer. I would think after an hour of two you would no that is not working. He didn't take a look to say its not the sewer but he suggested all the things that his company have to detected the problem. My question is why didn't you stop say we need to do this or that because I think something else is wrong. To make a long story short, My drain was worst then before. He turned off my sump pump and told me to plug it up in the morning. I need to mention that the toilet was over flowing before he left but I thought it was because I was running the water as directed by him so I took his word and left the sump unplugged for the night. I plugged it up this morning and the toilet continuously over flow flooding my first floor. I paid 175.00 but cheap is not good. When I spoke to the owner the flowing morning he was yelling at me because I had a problem with my drain but I said called you to fixed it. The conversation was yelling and screaming. He threaten me. Mind you he was not in my house but he is going to call an inspector to my house if I go to the BBB but I am going because I think that your work should never be worst then you started off with. I not sure if these people are licensed. I feel as though I have been scammed.

I used this service October 23, 2015. I had water and dirt coming up in laundry room and a sewer smell in the upstairs bathroom. I called indicating the problem and a plumber called me back. I was at work at the time and didn't get off from work until 5pm I wouldn't get home until 6pm. The plumber stated anytime after 6pm would be an emergency thus service would include an additional fee. So I left work early to meet the plumber by 5pm. I get home at 4:45pm. The plumber does not show at 5, 6, 6:30pm I call Genous Plumbing to let them know I haven't received a call with an estimated time of arrival especially since I took off work early to meet him. No apology or anything. After speaking with the dispatcher the plumber calls to state he is behind and should be there in an hour. The guy gets to my house an hour later with his son. His son open the hatch where the water line is in the garage and I show the plumber where the access is in the front yard. It's almost 8pm so it's getting dark quickly. The guy rods from outside and in about 30 minutes he say it's done we're finished. The charge is 185.00. I ask what if this happens again. He states your guaranteed for a year if it happens again just call us back. The next day I smell the sewer in the upstairs bathroom. Call them back out same guy doesn't smell anything. Fast forward to April 12, 2016. Doing laundry in morning find sorted clothes soaked in water and dirt / sand grit. Call Genous Plumbing dispatcher asks who was the plumber I said the fat guy with his son; dispatcher states he will send plumber to come and check it out. I ask about the warranty on the service since its been less than a year. He states I need the receipt to see what the warranty is. The plumber said it was a year. I have the cancelled check to establish when the service was performed. I'll look for the receipt. Mind you that was 6am Wednesday April 13th. I am writing this review Friday April 15th at 9:55pm and I ave yet to see our hear from anyone at Genous Plumbing. This is the WORST SERVICE I have ever had in any type of repair or troubleshooting of issues in my home. I will not recommend this company for anything, my next contact will be with the BBB.
Home advisor is a great vehicle to find reputable contacts for home projects. I wish I had utilized them for this project. If you have a plumbing or ridding issue do not use Genous Plumbing

I have had 3 separate dealings with this company the first time was November 12th in which he came out to fix a drip in my upstairs bathroom he charged me 158 for that service everything seemed fine the second day of repair guy showed up to fix my storm door the storm had broken and tore it out the frame of the door he charged me 184 for the parts in 250 for the labor and was supposed to return the next day to finish the small repairs on the rest of the door I have not heard from him since so my wife went on and fixed it so we just let it go the third was November 25th and which my wife calls me and tells me that the upstairs bathroom toilet is leaking so once again she calls them to come out for the repair the total charge was 350 for the rod of the main sewer line all is well again as I thought later that night which is the night before Thanksgiving someone uses the bathroom downstairs and now the whole basement starts to flood she called the plumber leaves a message he returns our phone call and all we got was a oh I'm sorry I know what the problem is I forgot to turn the sub pump off and forgot to turn it back on and that is all we got now December 4th my doorbell rings that morning with someone I have never met before claiming to be the manager of the company telling me he needs my credit card for a purchase that did not go through from November 12th explain to me unfortunately the credit card number wasn't readable and he needs my card again I found its very unprofessional for some stranger to be showing up at my door about a payment that was paid on the 12th he seems very upset and rude with me asking for proof of this he was extremely unprofessional I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy
