This company is by far one of the worst and If I could give it a ZERO I would. They were sent to fix my water heater; the person who came in just took a look and said nothing could be done except to clean around it. I told him I was running out of hot water during showers and he said there's nothing you can do and the insurance will not replace it. He was RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL and I highly doubt you can fix a problem by just looking at it. I basically got charged for someone to come in and in less than two minutes ""fix it"".

Yelp won't let you do a zero star review. This company is the worst! I got referred to Gennaro's by First American Home Warranty for a leaking water heater on a Saturday afternoon. I was told by First American that Gennaro would call within three hours and be here within 24 hours. Gennaro called my number and then hung up immediately. Did not even ring once, left no voicemail or made any attempt to call second number provided. They then notified First American that they were unable to reach me and, therefore, would not be able to come on Sunday. First American told me someone would be out Monday, but no one from Gennaro's has contacted me to confirm that appointment. As far as I am concerned, both companies are unprofessional and dishonest. Avoid them both. Put the annual premium into a savings account for home repairs instead.

This company is the worst! We got referred to Gennaro's by our home insurance. The plumber came made his inspection and reported to our home insurance that there was nothing wrong with the shower and the sink! The worst thing, the First American Home Insurance customer service representatives believe Gennaro's report! It took us 7 days making calls over and over to FAHW 7 days before somebody finally worked with us and sent a reputable plumbing company and they fixed our broken/leaking sink and shower in less than an hour! Easy job. The plumbers at Gennaro's they are also rude, nasty with bad manners. I wouldn't let them in to our home again. All you need guys is read all these reviews about them. Thank you

If I could take away that one star like other people have suggested, then I would. Frank was the technician that came out. My home warranty company First American had sent them out. I have a slow leak in my bathroom under the sink.
Frank comes in turns on the water for a few minutes. Looks under the sink with a flashlight. Pours water on the hot water lever and says the water is leaking from there. Suggests that buy some sealant and seal the lever. I point out that the water is dripping from the cold water side. He gives me some B.S. about water traveling and how my cabinet is leaning to the right. WTF??? Mind you I don't buy any of the crap he is selling. I question him. He has the audacity to say,"" are you a gambling man?"" I say, ""Sure"". Then he says, "" I'll bet you $20 that I am right."" Well guess what Frank! You owe me $20 out of that $60 that you swindled from me without doing any work! It only took me a few seconds to find out where the leak is and its from the cold water side piping at the joints! If you would have felt the piping then you would have known. Well hopefully you at least honor your bets even though you may be a crooked plumber. Yeah you can bring the cash by and maybe fix what u didn't, but I'm not holding my breath. What a joke this company is!!!! I don't know how these crooks stay in business.

I contacted the manufacturer for my water heater and this is the company that they sent out. Big mistake. The technician was late, never called, and when he did show up, took some pictures and told me that they had to contact the manufacturer to see if they were going to cover the repair. Four hours later, I called the office and was informed by a rude man that he didnt have to help me and that he was going me a favor. I called the next morning (Saturday) and was told by yet another rude employee, the tech had sent over his notes first thing that morning and it was up to the manufacturer as far as getting them to cover my repair. I was told that the manufacturer usually took as long as 48 hours. I was told that my install was wrong, and that several things needed to be fixed. I called the manufacturer myself and after sending pictures to the rep on the phone, he said that our install was fine and that there was a part that I needed but they would send one out at no charge. ( no complaints about Rheem whatsover!) I ended up calling out a different plumber by Monday afternoon that spent about 20 minutes venting the water heater and said my install was completely fine. This company is ripping these manufacturers and home warranty companies off left and right and I have made a statement to Rheem regarding their very unethical practices. Stay as far away from this company that you can cause they are so unprofessional and rude. I wish Yelp wouldnt make you leave a star cause they wouldnt have one at all if I could get around it. I have never seen a company with only one star but this company deserves it. Worst company EVER!

Gennaro's was referred by First American Home Buyers Protection on two separate instances on the same property under a warranty. In both cases, Gennaro's came out and found a reason why they couldn't perform the work. In the first case, they said that the contractor installed a tub wrong so we should check with our contactors' insurance company. In the second case, they said they couldn't open up drywall in the garage where there had been a leaking hot water heater supply pipe because there ""might be mold"". We had a different contractor come out, open up the wall, detected the problem, and no mold was found. We don't know what Gennaro's motivations are, or if they are complicit to defraud customers alongside the warranty companies. However, this body of reviews should tell you all you should know. What is clear, is that they avoid doing any work, find every reason to give the warranty company the opportunity to deny a claim, and have no hesitation in collecting the deductible check. The individual who sets appointments is neither reliable nor trustworthy. I hope that there is a way to shut this company down. 60+ some-odd reviews are consistent and sufficient evidence of either being crooked or really, really bad at what they purport to do. In either case, they shouldn't be allowed to continue in business.

Well I'm not shocked at anything I've read. Gennaros came out on a warranty call. The plumber evaluated the issue and a different plumber came out a week later to fix the issue that plumber #1 said related to our original issue but refused to address our original issue after he finished the job. And our plumbing was worse when he finished. No kidding! Sounds confusing but it's real. When I called Genarros and told them the original problem still existed. I was told I had to do a recall, so I scheduled a recall. Well Genarros only schedules 11-3. So that was a problem with work. I was promised they would schedule me after 3:30. They NEVER called to schedule an appointment, I had to call them and they gave me some lame excuse why they didn't call. So I called the warranty company and they called Gennaros. Now get this, Gennaros said they could not fix the original problem because they were not related. Wtf? Really? I had been speaking to a rep from them to schedule an appointment for nearly 2 weeks! I was livid! I ended up calling the warranty company for the 4th time in one day and after explaining my issue to a supervisor they are going to send a different company out free of charge. I've never seen such an irresponsible and dishonest business in my life. A unprofessional organization with horrible customer service. If I have to give them a one star rating then I give the others 1,000 stars. Just because they drive a truck a s carry tools does not mean the are ""real"" plumbers.

So here is the conclusion to our issues with Genarros. The warranty company sent a different agency out today. The first problem they found was the regulator they installed was set at 42 and it should have been at 60. Explains the water lack of water pressure. And as I said in my first review they refused to check the water after they installed the regulator. The next problem they found was Genarros should have replaced the faucets that were leaking which was the original problem that they said was not covered! OMG! So the plumber was on the phone with the warranty company for 20 minutes to get the issues straight and get authorization to come back out which he did at no cost to us. He was shocked that they did not complete the initial job. So was I. Genarros is a joke and they put families at risk with their incompetence. I'm calling the warranty company on Monday to suggest they read the reviews on these clowns. No offense to you in the circus. You are great at what you do. The people dressed up like plumbers and the ring masters in the office are the REAL clowns.

I started this review about 5 years ago, but figured I would finish it today. I had an issue with my tank-less water heater and had my home warranty send me a plumber to resolve the issue (or in my case, not resolve it). I don't know how my home warranty picks these ""winners"", but I sure was the loser.

My Kodagi tank-less was not heating up the water. So one of Gennaro's plumbers (he reminded me of the guy from King of Queens) was sent to service my heater. It was sending an error code that after he verified it with two ""sources"" on the phone was due to a lack of maintenance (which I did earlier in the year). According to him, this apparent lack of maintenance caused my circuit board on my tank-less to become fried and thus the circuit board had to be replaced.

According to him, he called several suppliers who did not have them in stock (they were on a 6 month wait list) . He then went on to tell me how the city I am in has very hard water. He said the best solution was to replace it. I asked him if the warranty would replace the unit and he said not to worry, that he was positive they would. In all his years of work, they hardly ever denied a claim. He said he needed to go back to the office to get a couple of things and he would be back in less than 2 hours. He said that I would be up and running in a matter of hours. He collected the money that the home warranty makes us pay for them to show up and left.

Well, no one ever called me or much less showed up. I called and they told me I was not eligible for any replacement and would have to pay a couple thousand to get the whole unit replaced. I called another plumber and they did a routine maintenance and it was up and running in minutes.

All that BS about the circuit board being fried was exactly that. I wouldn't be surprised if the home warranty purposely contracts these ""professionals"" to make it seem things are due to the negligence of the homeowner, thus voiding the warranty.

Like everyone else that has posted, I would never recommend them to anyone!

Worse service we ever Experiance. We were calling our First American home warranty company for a small leaking at our cold water valve in our laundry area. We been waiting for the tech to arrive which takes longer than promised time. When the tech arrive, he only takes no more than 30 second than he left and said he will be back to fix it. The next thing was we hear from the home warranty company that our claim was declined. The reason was there was mold found on the cold water valve so they suspected it was leak for a long time. This was not true at all~ so we provided all the evidence to proof they been wrong and home warranty company approved our service request and send the same plumber to come and fix the issue. Took them a long while to scheduled and back to the property and fix the same issue. This time~ they didn't fix again said they are not responsible to fix the washer connection. Come on~ we asking you to fix the leaking valve not the washer connection. They are such unprofessional company and irresponsible. We end up spend our own money to find another company to fix it because we can not wait another 2 weeks and have the cold valve continuously leaking everyday. We will not recommend anyone to use this company and we will also file a complaint to First American Home Warranty.

This company is extremely unprofessional.

I called to inquire about an issue with a backed up sink and bathtub.

A woman named Alex was extremely rude and unprofessional. When I told her I lived in an apartment complex she made an issue about payment and whether or not I would be able to pay them up front.

I assured them I would be able to pay them when they came out for service but she continued to berate me and behave rudely. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, she stated she was the supervisor. When I told her I would like to speak to another service advisor, she hung up.

Avoid all business.
