I hired them to put a deck on the back of my house about 20 years ago. They said they were using pressure treated wood... which I questioned and they said it was. ( please make sure you look at everything they use and make sure it is new and not used). It's costing several thousand of dollars to fix the problem because the back side of the house has settled because the wood has rotted next to the house (which was an addiction that he had done) and the floor has dropped 1 1/2""""

I am in out of town property manager, I came in to do a deep clean of my house and broke my tank cover. I was devastated to find out that I would have to replace the entire toilet however I was referred to Gene's. I went down with a broken tank top they made a perfect match. They were empathetic to me even when they had a lot going on as a staff. I will truly be forever grateful.

Gene's Plumbing and Remodeling staff is professional and on time. There dispatcher, Candice is always kind and professional. They are an important fixture in the College Park and surrounding communities.

I had a bad experience with Mr Rooter the day before. I called my uncle and he told me to call Gene's plumbing. I scheduled an appointment and told them what I needed. Mike & Chappy came when scheduled, very honest and professional. Mike told me what the problem was in 5 minutes. Mr Rooter quoted me a price of $1300, without knowing what the problem was. Gene's price was $174, what a blessing.

Long story short, my landlord informed me that he was experiencing a water leak into his apartment below from my toilet and told me that Gene's Plumbing would be coming by on 2/3/15 to repair it--they did not show for the next two days. Nevermind that I'd prepped my bathroom (removal of rug and tray on top of toilet) on the day they were SUPPOSED to show and they DID NOT, show at all that whole week of after 2/3. When they did finally decide to show up, my bathroom was not prepped and they left my toilet area DISGUSTING! When I got home from work, there was this brown/black gunk left sticking out from under the base of the toilet, they also left what i presume to be the same substance on the wall, the sides of the toilet and a smear from where they repairman obviously kneeled and his shoe scraped the side of the bathtub. I don't expect them to clean my bathroom, BUT LEAVE MY BATHROOM HOW YOU FOUND IT!!!! Now granted, I am a renter in a home on the same STREET as this business and I wonder if they have treated anyone else's home in this way. They are unprofessional, not timely and have no sense of regard for peoples' time or home. I absolutely WOULD NOT recommend this business to ANYONE. If you rent or own a home in the historic area of College Park, GA DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANY SERVICE!!!

Stay away! Gene's plumbing charges you 10x any other plumber. Had a valve twisted in our shower to make the water hotter (nothing was broken) and that was $181. Please learn from my mistake and YouTube the work they will do prior to arrival. Mostly likely you can do it yourself for free They will charge you $200 for a $20 job

I have used Gene's twice. The first time was for plumbing to clear a drain line. He billed $150. Probably a bit on the high side, but it hasn't backed up again for 4 months. The second time Gene sent an electrician who billed $222.50 for inspecting the electrical system just prior to and after Georgia Power trimmed around the power line that solved the problem. The charge was $222.50. About 4x a fair price. I had a outlet installed in the crawl space of the same house this week for $50. That was on the low side, but just so you know what you're getting into. Another thing about Gene is that when I spoke with him, rather than take responsibility for the bill that he sent to me, he blamed it on the electrician and suggested I call him to work it out. I called the electrician who failed to return my call. Gene didn't bother to follow through. So, I give Gene's a about three stars for plumbing and a negative 5 for electrical work. Gene offered to be my """"go to"""" guy for my rental property and I considered it till I got the bill for the electrician and was glad I held off on any further dealings. When you call Gene's just ask for a free estimate, otherwise plan to hand over a kidney or liver.

I tried for 2 days prior to restart my pilot light in the water heater so after going in and talking with them, I scheduled an appointment. Two service techs came out and restarted it in less than 15 minutes without using any tools or parts, and charged me $110. Having public school education, forgive me if I'm wrong but isn't that $440 / hour?!? Although they did get the pilot light re lighted, that was a bit steep. Common sense to most business owners is to treat customers right and they'll be back. I certainly won't be nor will I refer them to anyone. Lastly, just for S&G's I asked if they'd do an estimate on another plumbing project... it's been over a month and I've heard nothing. That's all right though, I wouldn't use them anyway.

The two that came were good men. I was charged $138 to remove water hoses off of a washing machine, that was already moved from the wall. One pushed the dryer maybe two inches. Maybe a 8/10 min job. I wanted to find me a local Plumber to use when i needed one. Too expensive for me. I will not use Gene's again. Kay K. 02/18/2021.

Pricing is extremely high in comparison to other plumbers. Gene's quoted $5800 to repipe my hot water replacing the dreaded blue pipe. I received a quote from another company that would charge $4500 to repipe the entire system replacing all the blue pipe hot and cold AND drainage/sewage pipes. Gene's also charged me over $200 to come out to my house to give me an estimate. I used Gene's a few years back and they did not over charge me at that time. That's why I called them first this time. But with the way I was treated I had to go with the other company.
