5 MAJOR STARS!! Being an out of state landlord / property manager - It's not very often a business tells you 'we wouldn't want to go down that road and have to spend unnecessary money'. While I still called around to get 2other estimates* I decided to go with Gene's for being the most reasonable and straightforward with providing results for my tenants. I had the pleasure of speaking to Ms. Kandis and Ms. Shelagh during the scheduling process. The technician (Mike B) was so professional my tenant called Gene's and myself to sing his praises. SHORT VERSION: Gene's definitely going to be my go to!! *1st company had an outrageous hourly rate plus a $600 camera inspection fee AND the 2nd company was reasonably priced but after given the same details as Gene's they didn't express the same amount of confidence/ knowledge to get to an immediate resolve.

Gene's Plumbing and Remodeling staff is professional and on time. There dispatcher, Candice is always kind and professional. They are an important fixture in the College Park and surrounding communities.

I hired them to put a deck on the back of my house about 20 years ago. They said they were using pressure treated wood... which I questioned and they said it was. ( please make sure you look at everything they use and make sure it is new and not used). It's costing several thousand of dollars to fix the problem because the back side of the house has settled because the wood has rotted next to the house (which was an addiction that he had done) and the floor has dropped 1 1/2""""

The two that came were good men. I was charged $138 to remove water hoses off of a washing machine, that was already moved from the wall. One pushed the dryer maybe two inches. Maybe a 8/10 min job. I wanted to find me a local Plumber to use when i needed one. Too expensive for me. I will not use Gene's again. Kay K. 02/18/2021.

I had a bad experience with Mr Rooter the day before. I called my uncle and he told me to call Gene's plumbing. I scheduled an appointment and told them what I needed. Mike & Chappy came when scheduled, very honest and professional. Mike told me what the problem was in 5 minutes. Mr Rooter quoted me a price of $1300, without knowing what the problem was. Gene's price was $174, what a blessing.

I made appointment with this company to install new bathroom and fix a few issues in home and on the day of appointment they called and informed me there would be 36.00 service charge to come out. They never told me there was a charge to come out and quote the job. I took the day off so I used a wasted day waiting for them to come. They are not very professional and consumer friendly.

Pricing is extremely high in comparison to other plumbers. Gene's quoted $5800 to repipe my hot water replacing the dreaded blue pipe. I received a quote from another company that would charge $4500 to repipe the entire system replacing all the blue pipe hot and cold AND drainage/sewage pipes. Gene's also charged me over $200 to come out to my house to give me an estimate. I used Gene's a few years back and they did not over charge me at that time. That's why I called them first this time. But with the way I was treated I had to go with the other company.

Long story short, my landlord informed me that he was experiencing a water leak into his apartment below from my toilet and told me that Gene's Plumbing would be coming by on 2/3/15 to repair it--they did not show for the next two days. Nevermind that I'd prepped my bathroom (removal of rug and tray on top of toilet) on the day they were SUPPOSED to show and they DID NOT, show at all that whole week of after 2/3. When they did finally decide to show up, my bathroom was not prepped and they left my toilet area DISGUSTING! When I got home from work, there was this brown/black gunk left sticking out from under the base of the toilet, they also left what i presume to be the same substance on the wall, the sides of the toilet and a smear from where they repairman obviously kneeled and his shoe scraped the side of the bathtub. I don't expect them to clean my bathroom, BUT LEAVE MY BATHROOM HOW YOU FOUND IT!!!! Now granted, I am a renter in a home on the same STREET as this business and I wonder if they have treated anyone else's home in this way. They are unprofessional, not timely and have no sense of regard for peoples' time or home. I absolutely WOULD NOT recommend this business to ANYONE. If you rent or own a home in the historic area of College Park, GA DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANY SERVICE!!!

I called Gene's Plumbing over a year ago to provide plumbing services. I scheduled appointments several times and no one showed. After finally getting someone out one of the workers talked about how ridiculous it was that I had to wait so long and I told him I didn't know another plumbing company in the area. The worker tore my tile from the bathroom wall and I was later told that he could have accessed the plumbing through the other side of the wall. The charged per hour to install new valve. I purchased the valve from them for $170 + tax and they charged $333.99 to install it. Not to mention they came out the day before to unclog a sewer line that costed over $300 as well and could have completed the job that same day. The person in the office stated that I'd already waited a year and 1 more day wouldn't hurt!!( r u serious) Every time I asked for an estimate, they would refer me to the owner Gene who continued to send me estimates on the wrong thing. When I called regarding the wrong estimates the customer service people were rude. After work was completed I had an issue the next day with my water coming on and they said I probably had frozen pipes. They did not complete the job that I contracted them for and the office assistant told me that they weren't going to because I asked the workers if they did side work. The same worker that asked me why I waited so long went back and told the owner that I tried to get him to do work on the side. I should have chosen a different company when the 1st worker came out and assessed the situation, promised to come back the next day, and never showed. This company is very unreliable and unprofessional. I would not recommend their services. I wish I'd read the reviews and listened to friends before using their services.

I tried for 2 days prior to restart my pilot light in the water heater so after going in and talking with them, I scheduled an appointment. Two service techs came out and restarted it in less than 15 minutes without using any tools or parts, and charged me $110. Having public school education, forgive me if I'm wrong but isn't that $440 / hour?!? Although they did get the pilot light re lighted, that was a bit steep. Common sense to most business owners is to treat customers right and they'll be back. I certainly won't be nor will I refer them to anyone. Lastly, just for S&G's I asked if they'd do an estimate on another plumbing project... it's been over a month and I've heard nothing. That's all right though, I wouldn't use them anyway.
