General Plumbing replaced my sewer line and fresh water line in one day while protecting my pavers and decorative hardscape!
Using his sewer line camera and expertise, Jorge (General Plumbing) determined that my flushing problems were caused by big sag in my sewer pipe underneath the sidewalk. But his company could replace the sewer pipe with a seamless new one using a ""trenchless"" technique.
I was worried that my beautiful paver walkway or my sprinklers or my yard would be damaged ... but needlessly.
Every one of the crew members accomplished their tasks without hurting anything and cleaned up so well you can't tell they were here.
I'm very pleased, relieved, and am delighted to flush toilets the work.

Before he arrived, I had already cleared everything out from under the sink so he had easy un-impeded access to the plumbing, and the guy who showed up wanted $326 to remove a one week old, clean, plastic P-Trap (U-bend), which takes ~1 minute, no tools required, and manually snake a slow draining kitchen sink (with a $10 re-usable snake). I've done it myself before and it's basically a half-hour job; if that!

So in this case, they're asking $650 per hour for this very simple job that pretty much anybody can do themselves (I just didn't want to get dirty this time) and this was on a week day afternoon, not an emergency call-out.

I declined as I felt they were asking too much, however, you may have more disposable income than I, so...

I appreciate that they don't charge a call-out fee, but why won't plumbers (any plumbers) give a ball park estimate over the phone and save us all a lot of time.

Great service but couldn't complete the job.

Called for a clogged drain and was told by the answering service that I would receive a call back in 15 minutes from the on-call plumber. I received a call back within 10 minutes, and Sidney let me know he would arrive at my place in an hour. He arrived on time, assessed the situation, spelled out the contract and got to work. Unfortunately neither the snake nor the auger he had in the truck had a swivel head and he wasn't allowed to go on the roof and clear the blockage from the vent pipe, so he was unable to clear the blockage. He cleaned up after himself, resetting the toilets with new wax rings and caulked them back in place. This would have been five star review if Sidney had the right tools to complete the job, or was licensed and bonded to be able to clear the blockage from the roof.

I was very happy with the service. They arrived on time Corrected the problem did not overcharge me cleaned up behind themselves and I was very happy with the service. I will use them again in the future.

Ray and Danielle are an incredible delight to work with. I sent a request for estimate for Ray to come and evaluate our lateral sewer line and issues we were having with old piping. He was incredibly responsive and at our house in less than 24 hours. He returned with an estimate then 24 hours after his visit and was permitted and completed the work the same week.

Not only did they have an incredible turnaround, but were also incredible advisors. As we experienced with other providers, they were quoting us higher for work that did not need to be done and Ray and his team actually brought and better and less expensive approach that was the best solution.

I will be using them for all our work moving forward and would recommend them to anyone for this work. Thank you again for the great experience!

Update: After my initial post on 3/30/19, I was contacted by the Quality Manger, Danny Jimenez. After a very long conversation on the 1 star post, it was determined by Danny that it may have been a training issue. He agreed that I should not have been charged the initial fee of $189, since the source of the leak was undetermined. Also, it was a bad judgment call for the fee to be a flat rate of $999. It should have been ~$350. Danny said he would credit me the full amount and asked if I would take down the 1 star post. My immediate response was no, but told him I would revise the post when credited. I have followed up with Danny on numerous phone calls, since I have not seen any reimbursed credit on my account. The excuses have been he has to follow-up with the department that handles reimbursements, bad connection can't hear you, just leaving Kaiser now can't talk, or straight to voicemail. The times we did talk, he always says he will follow-up with a phone call, but never did. It's been 3 months now since the conversation, I guess he changed his mind when I said I would not take down the post. I chose this company for the 4.5 star reviews. But I wonder, is this why they are rated 4.5 stars. The bad ones are taken down?

My water heater broke over the weekend. I messaged through Yelp on Sunday, and received a response within 30 minutes. Unfortunately, they could not give me an estimate because I was looking into changing to a tankless heater. They said if I gave my phone number, they would call in the morning. Sure enough, they called just after 8:00am! A technician was sent and arrived in about 90 minutes. He explained the pros/cons of a tankless heater. A tankless heater would require routing electricity to the outdoor water closet, and I would need an electrician. I may have opted for that under different circumstances, but I was in need of getting hot water. I went with the 50 gallon conventional tank. It was installed that day and took about 6 hours. This includes the time to go get the water heater from the warehouse. The technician saved time by draining the tank while he went to the warehouse. So far, all is good, and the water heater seems to be working fine.

One week ago on Sunday, there was a leak between the meter and my home. Called General plumbing and rooter and spoke with ""Johnny."" Johnny was very helpful and helped me save time and money, by suggesting I turn off the water at the meter if I could. I had already turned the water off. His honesty made a great difference in my decision to go with this company. Because most companies would send someone out to turn the water off and charge around $300.

At the time this was the only company that called right back.
My concern was not only the leak but what my precious landscape would look like afterwards. I have a waterfall feature in the yard, nearby the leak.

Johnny readily scheduled me for the next morning. At 7:00 a.m. Johnny arrived and assessed the situation and came up with a plan. He said he could prevent damage to the landscape, but there would be holes dug.

Tuesday the crew arrived with ""Ray"", the supervisor who made me very confident the job was going to be done right! I am very happy with the end result. Big Thanks to Johnny and the rest of the crew.

Last Friday I realized there was something wrong with my water heater so went to yelp and started calling around. Thank god I came across General Plumbing & Rooter! They were not only the only company to commit to getting someone to my house that day, Jon was at my house w/an hour! He was polite, professional and got the job done quickly. Granted, the job was just to relight the pilot light (I'm an idiot) but Jon took the time to check, recheck and check again to make sure everything was working right. Service was great, price was fair, if I could give 10 stars I would! Will absolutely use them again and recommend everyone else should too!
