My water heater broke over the weekend. I messaged through Yelp on Sunday, and received a response within 30 minutes. Unfortunately, they could not give me an estimate because I was looking into changing to a tankless heater. They said if I gave my phone number, they would call in the morning. Sure enough, they called just after 8:00am! A technician was sent and arrived in about 90 minutes. He explained the pros/cons of a tankless heater. A tankless heater would require routing electricity to the outdoor water closet, and I would need an electrician. I may have opted for that under different circumstances, but I was in need of getting hot water. I went with the 50 gallon conventional tank. It was installed that day and took about 6 hours. This includes the time to go get the water heater from the warehouse. The technician saved time by draining the tank while he went to the warehouse. So far, all is good, and the water heater seems to be working fine.

One week ago on Sunday, there was a leak between the meter and my home. Called General plumbing and rooter and spoke with ""Johnny."" Johnny was very helpful and helped me save time and money, by suggesting I turn off the water at the meter if I could. I had already turned the water off. His honesty made a great difference in my decision to go with this company. Because most companies would send someone out to turn the water off and charge around $300.

At the time this was the only company that called right back.
My concern was not only the leak but what my precious landscape would look like afterwards. I have a waterfall feature in the yard, nearby the leak.

Johnny readily scheduled me for the next morning. At 7:00 a.m. Johnny arrived and assessed the situation and came up with a plan. He said he could prevent damage to the landscape, but there would be holes dug.

Tuesday the crew arrived with ""Ray"", the supervisor who made me very confident the job was going to be done right! I am very happy with the end result. Big Thanks to Johnny and the rest of the crew.

Last Friday I realized there was something wrong with my water heater so went to yelp and started calling around. Thank god I came across General Plumbing & Rooter! They were not only the only company to commit to getting someone to my house that day, Jon was at my house w/an hour! He was polite, professional and got the job done quickly. Granted, the job was just to relight the pilot light (I'm an idiot) but Jon took the time to check, recheck and check again to make sure everything was working right. Service was great, price was fair, if I could give 10 stars I would! Will absolutely use them again and recommend everyone else should too!

I recently needed the cold water valve behind my washing machine replaced and they were able to get someone out pretty quick. The tech showed up on time and was very nice but wasn't prepared and had to go to Home Depot 3 different times to get supplies to do the job. When he replaced the valves he melted the plastic housing around them and asked if I was ok with it. I said no and he said he could come back to replace it another day since it had gotten so late. He then tried to turn the water back on but broke the water main, on the house off in his hand (I understand accidents happen and it was 20 years old so it probably was due) but instead of checking the size of valve he needed first he cut the pipe then realized the valve he had was too small and went back to Home Depot and Lowe's to find the right one. He returned empty handed at 8pm at night and said he couldn't find one. So he said he would be back in the morning with the correct valve at 7am at the latest but I would be without water for the night. He showed up at 7:30am and quickly replaced it. So all in all he was very nice but I wouldn't use them again because a simply valve replacement took way to long and ended up being more expensive than it should have been. Lesson learned

General Plumbing is awesome! My elderly mother who lives in Pleasant Hill, but I live out of the area, had her toilet replaced by General plumbing. They were able to fix and replace her toilet with very little notice. They were timely, courteous, and helpful. Johnny, the plumber who installed her new toilet, kept me informed since I wasn't in the area.I highly recommend them for any of your plumbing services.

Johnny Morgan has the plumbing powers of Thor with the calm demeanor of Bob Ross! Last Thursday at 9 pm I became distracted by the sound of my husband not only plunging the toilet with all his might but also the stench of old sewage. To my horror not only were both toilets clogged but there was sewage coming up from the shower in one bathroom and the bathtub in the other. Yes...poo in the shower and tub! I called mylocal Concord plumber. They were listed as being 24 hours for urgent issues. When the technician returned my call he stated that he was booked the whole night and would only respond to urgent issues.. could it wait until the morning. I repeat I HAD POO COMING UP FROM MY SHOWER AND TUB! After googling plumbers we came across General Pluming and Rooter. A nice lady promptly answered the phone and told me a technician would get back to me shortly. About 20 mins later Johnny Morgan called me, discussed the issue and what he was going to do and told me the cost all at once-no surprises regarding cost. He was at my house in less than 30 minutes (it's 10 pm by now) and worked tirelessly to try to unclog the massive clog I had in my sewer pipe under the house caused by baby wipes. After an hour and a half of sheer determination he told me the unfortunate news that we need another cleanout. My super old house only has one in the front. Thankfully my poo ponds had receded but we couldn't flush the toilets or use the shower. He said the soonest he could come to do the job was early Saturday morning. Without hesitation he showed me how to use his huge pump so if we had to do a number 2 or the pee smell became toxic we can at least pump it out and pour it down the cleanout in the front of the house. He let us use this piece of his equipment for our benefit for free.

Fast forward to Saturday morning and Johnny was here bright and early. He squeezed himself through the Coraline door that led under my house, cut pipes, added pipes, lifted pipes, braved black widows and the sewage stench in the RAIN and all by HIMSELF (Thor). All the while interacting with my cats, my kids and myself while speaking in a calm, soft ""Happy Little Pipes"" voice (Boss Ross). He was kind, courteous, speedy and honest. He explained everything he did and when he would return if he needed to step out for supplies. He gave us a discount on the work and after calling around it was indeed a discount! He left our house that day a friend and I will definitely be calling General Plumbing and Rooter from now on!
