My hot water was off. I call the YELP top five star company.

Back to Five Star GENERAL PLUMBING & HEATING CO.

Short story, it was the TACO zone valve (whatever) for my indirect water heater, a $450 part. And it's more than done.

The other five star company didn't feel comfortable sending out their guys to do this specific work. They had me send pictures Late Night Over Thanksgiving and start this lighting-speed fix rolling. They advised me well and sent me to Jon. Instantly the phone rings. It's Jon, fully informed. And he checked up on every step.

Here's what I think, says Jon: Your boiler is only two years old. Before we talk money: Do you smell gas? I open the furnace door and check. Just a little, I said. Call the gas company, he says sagely. Tell them you smell a little gas.

The gas company in Cambridge was prompt. We are a great city with great services. And sadly we remember some fires. It's almost all wood structures. Serious stuff. The city gets five imaginary stars. I receive mandatory good phone safety instructions from eversource gas. In maybe 25 minutes flat from when I picked up the phone to eversource, the gas guy has completed my basement inspection. Done. It is not a danger. He says I did right by calling. Here I'm thinking hot shower. And I become a safer new home owner.

And he guessed right what it was - a free immediate consult. Wise.

I call Jon back late morning. Roberto and Chris have the system humming early afternoon. Same day. They worked to fit me in, I could quietly tell. Nice guys, price as quoted. The call back from Jon at the end affirmed the whole transaction. Good stuff.

I wrote also that T-Flow was a community leader in their corner of Our Fair City, for their key part while making no money.

Together. We got the boiler job done correctly and super prompt. GENERAL PLUMBING & HEATING, Jon and his guys, Roberto and Chris, are those same community guys. I tipped. Get it done now right.

I wish my home inspector caught it six weeks ago. Couldn't leave that out. But he was good in other ways.

I had to go with another company for other reasons, but these guys were very responsive, and were able to come the next day! Other companies were talking about more than a week, with two visits at least.

If you're thinking about getting some work done, call these guys, you'll get a fast response.

I was dealing with John out of Medford, he was professional when I told him I had to go with another company. Says a lot about a company when they don't treat you like expletive when you can't do business with them, even after they've done some work to help you. That's why I'm writing this review, they earned it.

Professional con company. Charges $391 for 35 minutes of sloppy poor work. I have never dealt with such an unprofessional company in all my life. The plumber who showed up did not even bring his own tools and he used my hammer, flash light and tarp. The plumber was rude hitting my walls with a ladder and missing most of his teeth. DO NOT USE.

I had an emergency at my house recently, in Wilmington mass. The pipe in the wall was leaking everywhere.
I am not a home repair person, so I hadn't any idea how serious this really was,other than the obvious hassle with water everywhere!!!.
I called General Plumbing and Heating and was concerned because I had to get to work soon and was afraid of waiting forever for someone to arrive. Contrary to my past experiences with other plumbers General Plumbing was here with in a HALF HOUR!!! The plumber was quick to stabilize everything and you could see he really knew what he was doing. They charged me less than I had expected!!!. :)
I had to right a review because I was so happy to have found this company.
In the past I have had some nasty experiences with other companies and it was a pleasant surprise to have customer service and trustworthy work done at an affordable price.
I highly recommend this company and will call on them again!!

I had a small leak in a washing machine line. General came our the same day , repaired the line and basically charged me for a service c all - reasonable. They were clean and timely. I would highly recommend.
