Follow up about fixning the plumbing in my house. After paying over a 1,000 dollars my faucet continues to leak. The plumber stated ""you need to replace the current faucet. It's 18 years old. This is second time a plumber came out to fix and same faucet. The remedy was to replace the inner ""workings"" which I purchased. Now I have to buy a new faucet and have the General Install it. Ginger said, they would not charge me for the install. Now on to the whole house pressure regulator. The orginal plumb said the one I purchased was inappropriate. It was the same make, different model. When I contacted the manufacture, they said there was no difference and both models are appropriate. Ginger stated the one I purchased and 1.5 inches shorter than the one they installed. The manufacture stated the one I purchased was 1.5 inches longer. Ginger stated they would have to charge me extra to cut the pipe. Inacutally, they charged me several hundred dollars to cut the same pipe and replace the main water valve. So the argument of the one I purchased not being the same size, because the plumber had to cut the pipe, so the overall lenght is a moot point. I feel as though I have been gouged by this company and they are not an honest company. For instance, I mentioned the toilet is ""running."" You would think a simple replacement of the flapper. The first plumber replaced the entire valve. The valve was not the issue, it was the flapper. So the toilet continued to ""run."" The second plumber stated ""I don't carry flappers. You can go to Lowes and purchase a replacement."" So I was charged for a service call and a valve was replaced that didn't need replacing, and the toilet continues to ""run."" My experience, they don't listen to the customer, they focuse on proving the customer wrong even when the customer remains inconvienced of their summary. They don't look at the whole picture. They only focus on charging the most for each service call and providing unnecessary repairs. The service is poor, they try and get away with charging for services not needed, and provide unnecessary repairs without ""fixing"" the orignial issue. Stay far away of this company. Only out to gouge the customer and when the customer complains they go to great lengths to prove the customer wrong. Here we are in April, the toilet still ""runs"", the facuet continues to leak and I have spenp over $1,000s to have the General fix the problems. They don't treat the customers ""as family."" The treat the customers as cash cows. Prices are outragous. They figured out they can charge more by charging each seperate repair, then not correct the issue, there by creating a return service call, only to be charged again.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! Just over a year ago we purchased a brand new heat pump. When it stopped working we called and were told as it was over a year we had to pay a 99$ service call plus parts and labour. In the first place this is not true as the Lennox unit we bought has warranties of 3-5 years. We called another licensed contractor who discovered the unit had been improperly wired - was it installed by an amateur? they asked. We called to complain to General AC but the manager has never got back to us though we were promised a call. Their hard sell on buying a service contract from them on top of the 14k unit we purchased makes us believe they deliberately set up wiring that would eventually require a service call. We could be wrong, perhaps they are just grossly incompetent. In any event I strongly advise finding another company.

We just had our new A/C installed this morning! We were just replacing it because the one we had was 15 yrs old and didn't want to take the chance of it breaking down. Everything went very smoothly and only took a couple of hours. Zack came to our home and did a very thorough evaluation and spent quite a while explaining services and warranties. Today we had Mauricio and Dustin installing the new unit and they were excellent!!!!

I'm giving the 5 stars to Tanya as we just had out Heat exchanger installed
we are happy with what she said would happen and when it would happen it all came together as she said
she was probably the most thorough of all the reps we met with from many companies and we felt like she really new her business
she answered all our questions and educated us when we had questions
she is a real asset to the company

Their direct mail seems pretty deceptive. Makes it sound like they are my regular service provider and they will void my warranty if I don't use their service. Then they say they will discount their fee by $110 to $79. $79 is what most of the providers in the valley charge in the first place. I wonder if they are trying to take advantage of me because of my age???

Can't decide on 2 or 3 stars so I will be generous. We have used the General for several years to maintain our AC systems that they installed for us. The technicians are very kind and courteous. However, when one of the cooling coils developed a leak and we had to have it repaired (under warranty) it cost us $1600. When I questioned the cost all they would say is that it is set pricing. I even went to the main office in person and asked why it cost so much to replace a part that was under warranty. All they would say is that they have a license with the state of CA to do that kind of pricing. So I paid $400 per hour for labor- since the part was free. Looking for a different company now with more transparent pricing policies.

My elderly father's AC went out during 110+ degree weather and I was across the US and wasn't able to assist him. I was terrified for his safety and needed help quickly. I was referred to General Air Conditioning and Tanya came to the rescue! Within 2 days she had the contract drawn up, equipment ordered, crane secured and a crew ready to go. They installed everything in one day for for a great price. Tanya was super professional and stayed in touch with me through the whole process. She even sent pictures along the way. Their follow up/follow through and customer service was amazing and I can't thank them enough! I would highly recommend them for all your HVAC needs!

I reached out to General Air Conditioning in Palm Desert when are AC went completely out (102*) in the house last week. Jason at the call center made sure he got a technician out ASAP the following day. The technician named Michael Irvin showed up and replaced some parts within one short hour the AC was BLASTING freezing cold air again. THANK YOU for helping us in our time of need! Thank You for your professionalism and sense of urgency to get the technician out so FAST.

I have had them since 2014 paying for the mothly severice. They forget that they called in 2020 asking for my CC # for the new system. They insisted it was not 2014 as I asserted. Anyway just looking at maintance log I have missed nearly half of the ""free"" service appointments. I started buying the filters for my Lennox Pureair because they never had the pureair ones and or quoted me 500 dollars for a UVC bulb. In desperation as I was looking to sell my home i called another company and they came within 3 days. I knew I was a add on but thats better than 3 months for a maintance call.
I started stocking the capacitors because they never had them and perhaps i was put on a ""owner cant be fooled list"" . I understand they would have to make money and left almost always with a 500 dollar charge.
I have 2 large units and they both have circuit breakers and all the so called preventative things already.
Maybe if they increased there staff and had more staff i would return. I am trying someone new. It didnt sit well with me im paying 29dollars a month for nothing.
The last time they were here which was early 2021 , the guy said well I wont charge you for installing this filter . You know the one he didnt bring. The one i buy to have prepared for their visits. His idea was to return to install it for 200bucks. So he gave me the impression he was doing me a favor. They know exactly which system i have. So it boggles the mind why they never have it and its pretty popular.
Sadly they got to big and didnt expand.

I had 5 air conditioning companies come out to give me a quote on replacing my almost 30 year old system. I was immediately impressed with Tanya the sales rep. I've never lived anywhere that I needed air conditioning, so I was pretty ignorant on how the systems works. Tanya spent a couple hours with me educating me and explaining the different choices for me. My master bedroom was always the hottest room in the house, so we had a window unit to make the room cool during the night. Tanya talked to me about putting in a return vent to the Master but we didn't have enough room for it in our garage, then we talked about changing out our water heater. We were going to change the water heater to a tankless system anyway, so when she said they do that too, I was very happy to hear that. So out of 5 companies Tanya with the General spent the most time with me had the best prices for the value and offed the best interest rate for financing. The crew was very polite and professional, cleaned up the construction mess before they left. It was all completed in two days. I highly recommend this company and highly recommended Tanya.
