I can't say enough good things about Gene Duffy Plumbing. He responds quickly and takes care of the problem with a minimum of fuss. I recently had a water-pressure problem in the house. He suggested checking with the water authority first to make sure I didn't have to pay for a service call if I didn't need it, and then came over immediately to fix the problem. No hassles, just good work.

Great plumbers, Northport area! I was stuck in the middle of small job that I couldn't complete. I called three local plumbers and left messages. Mike and Tom Duffy responded within 10 minutes and arrived within an hour, exactly when they said they would. Courteous, professional, diligent and charged a fair price. I highly recommend them.

We had a leak in the toilet line above a half bathroom that had brought down some ceiling from a bulkhead. While Duffy responded quickly and completed the work well, he was rude and dismissive, as if the job really wasn't up to his standards. He didn't mind charging me out the nose, though.

More recently, I needed a drain line snaked, at least - not being a plumber myself, I wasn't sure about the scope of the job. While I did get a quick call back, Mr Duffy was condescending and gave me a number for the person to whom they farm out snaking jobs. He told me to get back to him to discuss it if the problem became worse.

Seriously.

I don't like being fobbed off. I don't like being mansplained. And I REALLY don't like being undervalued. I've found a plumber who does the work and is highly communicative. Buh-bye, bad customer service.

Gene Duffy is the real deal. My basement flooded and I needed someone FAST. Gene returned my call within 10 minutes (9 p.m) and when I couldn't figure out how to turn off my hot water he came right over! He is honest, reliable, a great plumber and someone you can count on. A rare find.
