Great job!!! I had Geiser-Berner come out in an emergency, couldn't shut off the main water to the house. My house is very old, but Mike knew how to make the repair. Mike a very pleasant man and knowledgeable got me up and running again. I will use them again (hope I don't have to, but old things, like me and my house break down.)
Thanks Mike and Scott
I cannot say enough good things about Geiser Berner. I have known this company and its professionals for years. They are consistently reliable, professional and extremely skilled. Last night after running the dishwasher water began pooling under the sink then running onto the floor. I attributed it to the dishwasher hose as I rarely run it. So, I called my ""Go-To"" guys late morning. After the owners asked several facts-finding questions, Mike came out @45 minutes later. Wearing a mask, he stood an appropriate distance away from the door when I opened it. He entered the house and immediately wiped his feet with a cloth he brought with him. He immediately identified the problem, which had nothing to do with the dishwasher, explained what the true issue was and the solution. After returning from the truck with some packing, he solved the problem. Mike also explained to me how plumbing systems work and how this had been an unknown to me ongoing problem that ""burst"". Mike was extremely efficient, possessed excellent problem-solving skills, professional and very personable. I was and am incredibly grateful! I strongly recommend Geiser Berner.
Wendi H.Geiser-Berber was great. They fixed my leaking dishwasher instead of talking me into replacing it. They also installed a gasket on my front loading washer. I have them come out to do clean and checks on my furnace every year. They have replaced my furnace and condenser and ejector pump. The technician Jerry is knowledgeable and is able to problem solve if need be. Use them for all your plumbing, heating and air needs. You won't be disappointed.
Blaise A.I don't feel like going into details, but my latest experience with GB left me feeling RIPPED OFF ! Very expensive, no results.
Did not do the job properly. Had to call another HVAC company to fix correctly. Would not recommend
Mark V.Stay Away Total Rip Off. Took them 20 minutes to find me a 2.5 "" gasket and then charge $11.55. Go to South Side Control Supply Co. down Elmhurst Rd Same Gasket $2.10 and was in and out in less than 3 Minutes.
My sewer was backed up and I called for service. The cutter used was too large to rod towards the house and it became stuck. I was told it was stuck on a compromised hub of the pipe and quoted over $8000 to dig to remove and fix.
I contacted another plumber and the job was completed for only $3000, only to find that my sewer was not compromised but the cutter too large for the pipe diameter. Additionally, my sewer was still clogged, but from the clean out to the street, not towards the house.
I asked for reimbursement and credit and was told it was submitted with insurance. They strung me along hoping I would forget.
I received great (and honest) service from this company. I finally found some one I can trust. Previously, I'd contacted two other heavily advertised companies who were more interested in selling me all new A/C and heating systems rather than repairs to my existing systems. The man from Geiser-Berner gave me a good analysis and made prompt and reasonable repairs. He disproved the other companies' false claims and answered all my questions. When the time comes for an A/C and furnace replacement, Geiser-Berner will get my business. Al H.
Our hot water pump stopped working and we called Geiser-Berner to fix. It cost $99 for a 5 minute inspection to tell us what we already knew -- we needed a new hot water pump. We were told the pump would be ordered and we'd be contacted within a week to install. Over a week later with no call from Geiser-Berner, I followed up to hear (after 2 calls over 2 days) that the part still wasn't ordered! Once the part did arrive, Geiser-Berner installed the new pump within 5 minutes charging me $149 in labor, and $291 for a pump that I could have purchased retail on the internet for $172. Suffice it to say, I WILL NOT USE GEISER-BERNER AGAIN!
Paul A.My mom lives in a 50+ year old home and had a water leak in the wall behind the kitchen cabinets. This was a difficult repair and we called Geiser-Berner to take a look at the leak. They sent out a plumber, Adam, who diagnosed the problem and assured me that the problem could be fixed without tearing out cabinets. The cost of this repair was quoted at $2,600, the high cost was due to the difficulty of the job and, because the pipe was not easily accessible, it would take two plumbers all day to effect the repair. We agreed to the high cost provided that the cabinets remained untouched. When they showed up to do the work another plumber came loaded with a lot of bad attitude and insisted that there was no way to do the repair without removing cabinets. When my sister mentioned Adam's comments the guy kept saying ""Adam's not here and his notes are vague and we have to remove cabinets"" . Frustrated, she had the plumber call me. He was rude and unwilling to explore repair options so I cancelled the work. We ultimately hired another plumber who fixed the problem, without removing the cabinets, in a few hours at a fraction of Geiser's quoted price. 2 lessons learned, stay away from Geiser-Berner and get several bids (also, Geiser charged $300 to quote the work!).
