Stay Away Total Rip Off. Took them 20 minutes to find me a 2.5 "" gasket and then charge $11.55. Go to South Side Control Supply Co. down Elmhurst Rd Same Gasket $2.10 and was in and out in less than 3 Minutes.

My sewer was backed up and I called for service. The cutter used was too large to rod towards the house and it became stuck. I was told it was stuck on a compromised hub of the pipe and quoted over $8000 to dig to remove and fix.

I contacted another plumber and the job was completed for only $3000, only to find that my sewer was not compromised but the cutter too large for the pipe diameter. Additionally, my sewer was still clogged, but from the clean out to the street, not towards the house.

I asked for reimbursement and credit and was told it was submitted with insurance. They strung me along hoping I would forget.

I received great (and honest) service from this company. I finally found some one I can trust. Previously, I'd contacted two other heavily advertised companies who were more interested in selling me all new A/C and heating systems rather than repairs to my existing systems. The man from Geiser-Berner gave me a good analysis and made prompt and reasonable repairs. He disproved the other companies' false claims and answered all my questions. When the time comes for an A/C and furnace replacement, Geiser-Berner will get my business. Al H.

Our hot water pump stopped working and we called Geiser-Berner to fix. It cost $99 for a 5 minute inspection to tell us what we already knew -- we needed a new hot water pump. We were told the pump would be ordered and we'd be contacted within a week to install. Over a week later with no call from Geiser-Berner, I followed up to hear (after 2 calls over 2 days) that the part still wasn't ordered! Once the part did arrive, Geiser-Berner installed the new pump within 5 minutes charging me $149 in labor, and $291 for a pump that I could have purchased retail on the internet for $172. Suffice it to say, I WILL NOT USE GEISER-BERNER AGAIN!

My mom lives in a 50+ year old home and had a water leak in the wall behind the kitchen cabinets. This was a difficult repair and we called Geiser-Berner to take a look at the leak. They sent out a plumber, Adam, who diagnosed the problem and assured me that the problem could be fixed without tearing out cabinets. The cost of this repair was quoted at $2,600, the high cost was due to the difficulty of the job and, because the pipe was not easily accessible, it would take two plumbers all day to effect the repair. We agreed to the high cost provided that the cabinets remained untouched. When they showed up to do the work another plumber came loaded with a lot of bad attitude and insisted that there was no way to do the repair without removing cabinets. When my sister mentioned Adam's comments the guy kept saying ""Adam's not here and his notes are vague and we have to remove cabinets"" . Frustrated, she had the plumber call me. He was rude and unwilling to explore repair options so I cancelled the work. We ultimately hired another plumber who fixed the problem, without removing the cabinets, in a few hours at a fraction of Geiser's quoted price. 2 lessons learned, stay away from Geiser-Berner and get several bids (also, Geiser charged $300 to quote the work!).

I live in a older condo in Des plaines. Our association uses this company to keep the plumbing working. The pressure in our unit was bad so I had a visit from one of your plumbers who broke my shower head. He told me to send in a receipt and I would be reimbursed. That was seven months ago!

Stay a way find another company... They won't mind charging you a arm and a leg for subpar service and won't except responsibility if they damage your property.

All this over 30.00.

Extremely expensive. Will not use again. Charged me $ 52 for a sink trap that costs $ 20 in stores and charged me labor $ 179.00 for 45 minutes of work. My manager made the mistake of not getting an estimate before hand and we paid a heavy price. Would not recommend.

I have a water heater and sump pump recently replace by Ron. He showed up ontime. Installed everything with the cost range that was explained to me when I called for the appointment. The work area was cleaner than the way it was before he started. Both the heater and sump pump were buried behind the furance. He managed to get the job done all by himself. I will use this company again and would recommend them to friends and family.

In previous reviews regarding plumbing supply places, I've written about my weird toilets at home, which require special parts. Due to their obscurity, I can't simply go to Home Depot or a hardware store. So when I was fixing my toilet recently, I needed to get a new replacement water line from the supply valve to the inlet shank in the water tank. For anyone else, it would be an off-the-shelf item, but for this toilet and its unusual fitting size, I needed to look beyond my oft-deficient Ace Hardware in Park Ridge.

The guy at the store recommended I check out this place. I called Geiser and talked to Scott, the owner. I told him what I needed. Not only did he say he has the part, but he was familiar with the PF/2 style of toilet I was refurbishing.

I stopped in there in the late afternoon after work and showed Scott the calcified piece of tubing I needed to replace. He found it for me in a minute and I was on my way.

Geiser-Berner also has a showroom of plumbing fixtures for faucets, tubs and toilets. Besides being a parts supplier, they do service calls and remodeling work. While I cannot vouch for the workmanship of their service & remodeling operations, I was thoroughly pleased that they had the part I needed and how knowledgeable Scott was at finding the compatible part so I can do it myself. With my 4 weird toilets at home, I know I'll be back here once again, sooner or later.
