Geiler
Company Overview
Family Operated and Run. Proudly serving the Greater Cincinnati area since 1885. We accept and financing is available .
Bill's son Jack became part of the company post-WWII . Jack arrived with a degree in engineering from Tri-State College , coupled with fresh ideas and a focus on significant commercial undertakings. A notable innovation from Jack included the use of two-way communication devices in the fleet - a skill he acquired during his time as a B-24 bomber navigator .
Significant projects at this time comprised:
The 580 facility
The Federal Reserve structure
The Riverfront Stadium
The original Cincinnati Convention Center
Numerous projects at the old Norwood G.M. Plant
The company outgrew the Harrison office on Harrison Avenue , even after purchasing adjacent properties , leading to a move to the current facility on Glenway Avenue in 1960. Additionally, Geiler branched out into air conditioning, refrigeration, and process piping .
The 1980s brought Jack's sons, Reid, Steve, and Dave, joined the firm, alongside tough industry conditions. Geiler persevered as its loyal customers knew they could trust Geiler.
Nancy Geiler leads the company, though her sons handle most of the daily operations . The Geiler Company has been in operation since 1885 and proudly operates as a Union company . We have several divisions and can provide a wide range of services across many trades .
Our Residential department serves homeowners for heating, air conditioning, radon solutions, and plumbing services above or below ground , including water service or sewer replacements . Our Commercial team manages heating, air conditioning, sheet metal services, and plumbing above and below ground , including water service and sewer line replacements . The Geiler family is truly remarkable who genuinely care for their employees and customers and strive to succeed by being a good company and by prioritizing their customers' needs . Brian T.First off, I will say if you need a boiler, heater, or HVAC system repaired, avoid these Geiler crooks and call ADCO at (513) 471-3390. We're a small business providing quality residential apartments for 13 years, and have used ADCO throughout with high quality, timely service at low fees. The reason I am writing this review is we called Geiler for after-hours service on our boiler that provides heat for our 6 tenants, who were left in the cold with no other options. Geiler technician, Chris, took the call and said he could be there in an hour to get the boiler valve replaced and up and running. I asked him how much it would cost to do this service, and he said $509 after hours or in the low $400s during regular hours. We opted for the regular hours service the next day, and the bill came back to be over $1700. This included their serviceman charging us $100 per hour for fetching parts for 2-3 hours. This was a job ADCO quoted for $1000, by the way. After several calls over the next few weeks were not returned and being blown off and badgered by the phone receptionist, I was finally able to talk with the service manager and the engineering manager. They claimed they didn't have an after-hours technician named Chris, and they wouldn't give after-hours work quotes prior to doing the work, even though I had written down both of these details of the call when it happened - typical practices of scheister, fly-by-night types of outfits with poor customer service. These are the facts that I believe any other customer should consider and be aware of, and again, I will highly recommend calling ADCO at (513) 471-3390. We will not be using Geiler again.
Our boiler was down on Saturday we call geiler company to come and check it out . Tech came & work for few hours and finally said I cant fix and charge around $700.00 and said someone will call Monday but no phone call from them and finally I worked my self clean and fix our boiler work great now . Geiler plumbing company customer service is very dissatisfied.
Scheduled an appointment to replace an aging but still functional water heater approximately ten days in advance. Received a courtesy call from the company the evening before reminding me of the appointment and the time at which I could expect the plumber (Josh) to arrive. Josh arrived on time and completed the installation in just under the estimated time I was given when scheduling the service. The job required re-routing both the gas and water lines, which Josh handled with ease. He was prompt, efficient, very friendly and highly professional. Upon completion of the work, Josh took the time to answer all of my questions and explained the operation of the water heater in great detail and in layman's terminology. A true professional. Could not have expected more or been more pleased with his service. The next time I need a plumber, be assured that I will be calling Geiler and asking for Josh!
Geiler has been out twice recently for some plumbing issues in my old home. Each time they were out quickly and were really informative in answering my many, many questions. The employees I've interacted with have been very friendly and knowledgeable. I'm happy with the service and would definitely use them again.
Susan D.On Thursday, my toilet clogged. I made an appointment for a service call for Friday morning at 0800.
Before the technician arrived, the issue resolved itself and the toilet flushed fine. However, since my house was built in the 1950's, I thought it would be helpful to have him look at it anyway in case it might be a recurring issue.
The technician tested the toilet. He mentioned that with age, some of the features have become blocked with calcium deposits-and that I should begin to consider replacing the toilet, but it wasn't necessary to do during his visit.
Geiler has replaced a different toilet in my home with one I purchased on my own several years ago. I asked about any that they recommended. It turns out that they recommend one that is taller, has a larger drain hole than typically offered at hardware stores. These are things I wouldn't have considered on my own, but are definitely important.
I definitely felt that the visit was helpful, and that Geiler is a great service company. I have used them over the last ten years and will continue to in the future!
Jeff H.Geiler came to our house for fall check up. They serviced and said heating unit fine. Within a few days heating unit totally shut down. Came again for humidifier. Again within a few days heating unit totally shut down again. Calling another company
Katie L.We have used Geiler twice in 14 years for some pretty serious plumbing issues. Believe it or not, Matt, a master plumber at Geiler did both of our jobs for us (which says something about the company if their employees stick around). in 2003, they replaced old clay pipes that had broken and developed roots throughout. They dug down 10-12 feet, and replaced the full line from our house to the street. Not something a new homeowner wanted to deal with, but Geiler was honest and the work was done right. Never had a problem after that.
Until, we moved! I thought we had paid our dues in our first home, and our new home was new construction. While very unlikely to get roots in PVC pipes, some shoddy work by the builder, and boom, same problem, all over again 14 years later! Once again, Geiler to the rescue. Matt is an awesome plumber and knows his stuff. He prioritized our work (we had limited use of water in our house otherwise) and got the job done quickly, with quality work. He provided a full write-up so we could take it to the builder to try and get some recourse. I highly recommend!
I had Geiler hook up my natural gas grill to the gas line on my deck. The grill connector was 3/8 and my gas line is 1/2 and I needed a reducer to hook it up. Instead of doing myself I decided to have Geiler install it I figured I would pay a little more than doing it myself but did not expect to pay $175. Totally ripped off. I should have asked what the cost was going to be before he started. I just noticed on the receipt that the installer listed that he was here from 10am till 12 pm. He was gone before 10:45 and that included him going to get the reducer.
Purchased a Groupon for a whole house plumbing inspection and my husband took off work for the appointmnet. No one from Geiler showed up nor called. I left a voicemail message at 5 pm on Friday, stating I wanted a return call and I didn't care that it was a weekend, The wekkend tech returned my call and said he'd be out on Sat. Then received a call on Sat saying the company did not know what had happened on Friday but they would not service the call on a weekend. I asked for the person making that decisioin to please call me on Monday. By 11:15 am on Monday I had not heard anything, so I called them. I was then told they had a wrong number for me and had tried calling it several times on Friday. She said they'd be happy to reschedule the appt. I again reminded her that my husband had taken off work specifically for the missed appt and while I understand that telephone numbers can be transposed I felt like the error was their responsisbilyt but they were expecting us to make all the concessions. She then offered to connect me to the decision maker (whom I had requested call me in the first place) I got his voicemail, so I left a message requesting a call back. He callled back and his first statement was did I have a ? about a groupon?? Obviously he didn't pay much attention to my message. When I explained the issue he told me that they had a wrong phone number and they didn't know whether they took it down wrong or I gave it to them wrong!!! Their last appt. time is 2-4, never once did anyone ask how late would we need an appt to be. We could have been there by 4 but not by 2!! So I said if I could get my money back for my groupon I would just take my business elsewhere. He said oh you can do that, just call Groupon. So I told him that's what I would do and I would do business with a company that knows how to behave professionally!! Would not reccommend this company to anyone!!!!
Ye X.A terrible customer service guarantee a terrible business. STAY AWAY!!!
If you run into problems, the resolution is "" your fault"" or "" you are screwed"". You can pay more and use them for other services.
If I haven't made this clear enough. If you are going to managing the entire process, making sure they put done the right appointment, being contacted to reschedule for couple times, making sure to follow them while they are doing their jobs, you might as well learn to do it yourself.
$50 dollars for 5 minutes job for A/C tune up on an A/C unit that is brand new, anyone got a job better than that?
