The water from my toilet tank was leaking into the toilet bowl. The mechanical parts in the tank had to be replaced .This was the simple kind of job my husband used to do himself. The plumber spent one half hour working in my home and I was charged $311 for this simple little job. The bill was not itemized for labor and parts. When I called the main office about this excessive charge they said they would look into it and call me back. They never did. I will not be calling them again.
I called three times ,in two weeks, about replacing my heater and air conditioner and gave my name and number. I was told someone would call me. Still no call from them. Great customer service. Lol

Don B.Called for a plumber to come out and look at my side of the water meter due to a minor leak. The tech arrived on site, spent more time walking back and forth to his truck then in my house. He left to ""try and find parts from a supply house"" however was back in 45 minutes claiming he went to two supply houses. In reality, going to the closest supply house and back would take longer then 45 minute, but he still claims he went to two. After all of this, arrives back at my house, spends more time out at his truck then in my house again, only to grease the original o-rings and put it back together. So the tech didn't have any o-rings that would work, didn't have a check valve to replace what was there, and didn't have a way to update the existing plumbing to correct The issue. It cost me almost $170.00 to have this plumber grease 2 o-rings. Needless to say, you got me this time, but it won't happen again.
The only reason this review is getting two stars instead of one is because their HVAC Tech that was also at my house recently was great. Very friendly, thorough, and knowledgeable.
I have had multiple bad experiences with Gehringer and I am very unhappy. We had extensive flooding in our basement that ruined ALL of our personal items. I am not sure if Gehringer is to blame, but they certainly didn't help the situation.
3 feet of water in the basement flooding.
We asked Gehringer to put a cap on the floor drains in the basement. They put caps that closed the drains. The water softener purges and drains through those floor drains. I gave them a chance to return and put caps on the floor drains and specifically asked NOT to put caps on that block the drain. I spoke to ""Trae"" the Superviser. He assured me that the correct caps would be placed.
I asked to speak to Trae's supervisor and I asked for a phone call. No phone call from Trae or his supervisor.
It is disappointing to have to change it myself and be charged after they put caps on the drains a second time.
I still gave them a third chance. I drove to Gehringer in person and told ""Trae"" in person I would like to sit and talk. He said they didn't have any seats. I asked why I hadn't got any calls. He said they called. (In the age of digital messaging, I am surprised he alleged so). I showed him my phone and the call history. No call from Gehringer.
When I asked why the caps were placed they said ""Oh those drains don't normally work"". I had told them several times that we needed those drains for the water softener to purge. Trae then told me ""We will look into this and get back to you"". They have my address, cell number, email, and other ways to get a hold of me.
Here it is 2 months later and they still haven't called or contacted me at all.
Below are pictures of what they tried to bill me for after I specifically asked them not to do this -twice.
It caused massive massive damage.
Also. I was charged $85 for someone to flip a metal cap onto an exterior clean out.
As a business owner myself, I would like to speak to the owner still. I don't imagine this is acceptable by the owner and he should be notified about this.
The good news:
I have been working with Drainman plumbing since. They are much better. I highly recommend them.
I would highly recommend Drainman Plumbing in their place: 484-366-9362
Also highly recommend Quality Water Service 610-960-5205 for well service and/or minor repairs.
Mixed...They came within a day ( not busy, why? ). The final work is very good. When they worked on a quoted project ( fairly priced! ) one technician came, prepared with most items; only (1) 10-minute run to shop ( they are 1.5 miles away ). However, when working on a regular service call ( hourly ) they had 2 men here and made (2) 25-minute trips. 10 years ago one man pulled, and replaced, the same well pump. The invoice for this hourly work was eye opening. I Do Recommend Them!!! Just be cautious of hourly work. Thank You Gehringer!
We have been using Gehringer Mechanical for many years, including their plumbing, HVAC and electrical services.
This past week we met Tom Schaefer, a young, fairly néw HVAC tech. After answering a few questions he went right to work replacing a faulty capacitor and got our air up and running quickly on a day with a forecast high of 95. He was courteous, knowledgeable, professional and very patient in answering all of my questions in terms that I could understand. We found him exceptional and certainly representative of the rest of the Gehringer team that we've worked with thus far.
Gehringer Mechanical is our go-to business for all our plumbing, electrical and HVAC needs. They have our unreserved recommendation and one you won't disappoint, starting with Dot on the phone who will set you up promptly and efficiently and with a very pleasant and inviting phone manner.
They sent a technician out with no experience. He took alot of pictures and had to go back to office. After a discussion with his manager or lead, it was very clear that there intention was to give me a crazy price to complete the work I had requested to be completed. This was my first experience with this company. I would not hire them to complete any work for me at my home or business.
Communication could be better.
I hired Gehringer twice to work on a vacant investment property. They had the keycode for access and my phone number. On the 1st occassion, they couldn't make the repair without the faucet key. The technician failed to call asking for the key.
On the second occassion the technician again could not complete and failed to call me to discuss the options.
I also requested to secure the dishwasher to the countertop, which was not completed or communicated.
On both occassions it would be nice if they could call to communicate options and price before working or leaving the premises.
Our air conditioner died a few weeks ago. We had Gehringer Mechanical come out to give estimates. Chris met with us and gave us options to choose from for a replacement. He answered all of our questions. We finalized a product with some great upgrades including an air purifier. They offered financing or discounts by paying for it in cash/check. They were on time to install the system. Techs were friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and more! From calling in and speaking with Jen, talking with Jason, to the techs coming to install - it was a smooth transaction. I can't say enough great things about them !!!!!
Gehringer's has moved to a flat rate charge so be ready for sticker shock. I got charged $450 for a 2 hour 15 minute washer drain installation. Not more than $50 of material. Have used Gehringer in the past and they do good work but was not informed of change from hourly charge to flat rate.
