As many Texans experienced in February 2021, the winter storm was one of the most devastating events in the state's history. We did everything we could think of to insulate our outside spigots, but to no avail.

Water leaked into our dining room, and we had to unfreeze the leaking outside spigot before we could get a plumber to take a look. We'd heard that all plumbers were booked for at least a month, so we were saved by our friend who had booked Mike Gavit on retainer at the start of the storm.

When Mike communicated with us via text, he said the soonest he may be available was Wednesday (2/24) when we needed him that weekend. He came by sooner than expected, and was able to not only isolate the root cause of the issue (frozen pipes that froze too far into the wall), he was able to get it capped for us at a very fair price.

It has been a week since his service and we are happy to report that our water (including hot) is working perfectly fine throughout the house. To say he under-promised and over-delivered is an understatement - he literally saved our lives!

Mike is a really great guy!! Called him to ask about fixing some kitchen and bathroom faucets and he was able to come the same day and get them all taken care of! He even called the next day to make sure everything was running smoothly. Would definitely recommend if you have any plumbing issues !

I've hired Mr Gavit on two occasions. His prices were fair and his second job actually cost less than what he had originally quoted. Can't beat that. I plan to call him the next time I need plumbing service. Good guy and an honest business man.

After searching for an honest plumber - I finally found one. I'm so thankful that a friend connected me with Mike @ Gavit Plumbing. Mike was able to speak with me over the phone to discuss our issue and provide a timely site visit to inspect further. We had received quotes for $1,600 and $800 for a minor gas leak (fireplace valve and dryer value) that needed to be replaced. Mike was able to inspect our situation, and provide a quick (1 hr) solution in repairing the original value from 1976 for the cost of a service visit + parts. He was able to pressure test the system and inspected for leaks. We are now leak free! In a world where there are so many dishonest and unqualified people - I will be sticking with Gavit Plumbing for any and all plumbing needs in the future.

Can't say enough good things about Gavit Plumbing. He's the only person I let touch my pipes. Lol and yes I say that in front of my hubby. I've used him on 4 different properties now. He's done total repiping to minor fixing ABC's mess. Retired military and 100% honest. He works hard to have happy customers. His nephew Brandon does the ditch digging. Thanks Brandon.

Was able to come out to rebuild my bath faucets the same day. Other plumbers either didn't show up after agreeing they would, or tried to give me appointments a week out.

1st time Yelp review so this might get overlooked but...

Mike was great!

We had a water heater issue and we initially called one of the big name guys. They showed up (3 hours late) and told us everything was fine. Everything was fine for 3 hours then back to cold water. Said company rhymes with sister cooter.

Then we called Mike. He showed up when he said he was going to. He put in some hard work and looked where the big name company didn't. He also noticed things that were wrong that the big name company said didn't matter. Turns out it did matter. Mike replaced the whole thing with labor cost and it turned out to be half the cost of the big name company.

He also had a great can-do attitude and will do anything he can to impress you. Could not recommend him enough!

I'm not sure which part of Texas Gavit Plumbing is operating, but he's advertising on Craigslist in Austin - then not showing up for scheduled appointments! He moved our appointment from Tuesday to Friday, delaying our remodel project. Friday rolls around and no Mike, no phone call. He doesn't return calls or texts. Terrible business practices. Do not waste your time with this man and his company. His lack of common courtesy and respect for peoples' time is inexcusable.

Mike knows his plumbing! He has helped us out twice. His service & pricing are great. He comes on time, finishes on time, & and does so at the quoted price! He also does remodel jobs like putting in new toilets, sinks, faucets, in both kitchens & baths. He can also install your new dishwasher. Give him a call for your plumbing needs!

I should have read Yelp prior to calling this guy!

We had a scheduled appointment for between 8-8:30. By 9am nobody had shown up. I called and was told that he was on his way - having car issues. I got a text 10 minutes later saying that he couldn't make it due to the continued car issues.

I feel that if I never called him to figure out where he was, I'd still be sitting at home waiting! Bad business!
