Homeowners Beware! We hired Gator Plumbing to set shower drains, install toilets and connect sinks. Sink and two toilets leaked after installation and piping from the wall was not trimmed to provide a professional appearance. Dan came out to correct, but even now hot/cold is backwards and piping from walls look unprofessional. One sink never finished, although bill was paid in full. I could have watched YouTube, drank a 12 pack, and done a better job than GDP. We spent a few days contacting GDP to get their shoddy work corrected, and Dan's response was to curse out my wife. When she posted a negative review, Dan filed a complaint with CC permit dept. The head scratcher here is the complaint is for work GDP did, that according to GDP does not require a permit. Any business owner that cusses out women and then files a complaint like a spiteful 12 year old because he gets called out for poor quality work does not deserve your business.
Unfortunately I had to give at least 1 star even though the company deserves 0. Awful company with awful customer service. After they never showed up for my first appointment I had to call and reschedule for the next day. They never showed up or called for the second appointment. 2 missed appointments in 2 days. Never hire them. If they handle the company like they handle their customers, they won't be in business much longer thankfully.
Mike V.I have been having bizarre water pressure issues at a house I had recently purchased. Gator helped to identify the issues (both city and my connection) and got it resolved. I recommend them with no reservations. Great HONEST people to work with.
Plumber arrived to assess the issue; took issue from bad to worse. Scheduled an appointment to have faucet replaced; that plumber never showed! Gator Plumbing is having conversations with home warranty company that plumber was running late! Really? Who informed me?...no one (still did not show)! Lacks professionalism and work ethic. Beware and disregard all the raving reviews on their website. OMG it was as easy fix! Now I'm having to deal with getting refund of my fees! Find another plumbing company (shocking they're in business this long...must've changed management several times).
On Thursday March 21 technician showed upt o diagnose my 3 year old water heater issue. He collected $125 fee and stated that he will come early next week to replace thermocouple. Called office back several times on Tuesday the 26th to finally learn that the thermocouple was not even ordered and instead of thermocouple alone (around $15) they need to replace pilot assembly kit ( around $40). Was told that parts are so hard to find that there is just one somewhere in TN. And Gator plumbing can install it for total of $200 on Tuesday Apr 2nd or overnight the part and install it for total of $ 350 on Friday March 29. Did some research to find that parts and widely available online but since Gator Plumbing already collected the $125 of my $200 total cost, decided to select Tuesday April 2nd ( today). Called today and spoke with the CS lady who did put me on hold """"to see whats going on"""" After being on hold for 20 + minutes listening to elevator music, I called back to learn that nobody knows where my part is and when it will be installed but they will call me back with update. Called again later this afternoon to learn that actually the part has to be custom made for my heater. Same part that they offered me to install on Friday 5 days ago!!!!! Very upset I did cancel their services. They are very quick to take your money but very slow in addressing your needs. Tomorrow it will be 2 week anniversary of the first service visit. Two weeks without hot water. And the job was very simple. Parts could be ordered online and any respectable company would ordered parts within a day of service visit ( preferably same day). In the nutshell, have nothing good to say about Gator Plumbing experience. Will not use their services again. For over 10 years was using excellent Grizzly Bross Plumbing service but after takeover of Grizzly Bross by Gator Plumbing, service quality went downhill. Do not recommend. If owner wanted to contact me and discuss my comments he can find my contact info in his database.
Pretty much thieves. I had used Grizzly Brothers in the past, and called their number. They answered """"Gator"""" and I asked if this was Grizzly Brothers. """"They're one of our partners,"""" she lied. So Alex shows up. It was a simple repair, pleasant kid. Just the tank gasket. $175 for a 10 minute repair! Left the bathroom a mess - water still on the floor, toilet seat lid scraped up. The only warning I had about the $125 service fee was on a phone app I signed before he started - read like a Microsoft user agreement. Shame on me for not digging through it. You have been warned - keep gator out of your house!
We have a friend from Ohio that owns a property in Punta Gorda, Florida, and was coming to visit for 10 days there. I live in Clearwater, Florida so I told him I would help him with his problem. He was loosing 300 gallons of water per day even though the water was turned off at the house. Obviously, there was a leak between the meter and the home, so I called Gator. They were very pleasant to speak with, however over the past 2 days, I have had a nightmare with them. They said the waterline needed replaced between the house and the meter. I told them that is exactly what needed done, and that was no surprise, but why did I have to call them back to see what the problem was. Since then, I asked for a quote, which I requested 3 times. This guy named David is worthless. He doesn't return phone calls and he was supposed to have the job done the day after I approved the overpriced quote. Then he told me that it would be started in 2-3 days. I then cancelled them from coming, but all of the sudden an appointment opened up to get us in the next day. So here it is, the next day, and I had to call to see if they showed up. David was so confused on who he was talking to, said they are replacing the copper line under the concrete on the hot side but be assured that the cold side will still work. WTF!!!! Are you kidding me!!! Wake the hell up. You are replacing a line from the street to the house, not inside water lines. Then he said I will call you right back, and hung up. This is only part of my story. I have wasted 3 hours of my life on hold with these guys. What a F*****n joke! P.s. I just received a call, they are going to get to the job site sometime today, they ran into a problem on another job. Wow! Really, ours was going to be the first stop today. Somethings wrong here!
Brant R.Today I had an appointment through my home warranty company. The appointment was set for 11am- 3pm at 3:30 I called gator cause no one showed, they said they were running late and apologized cause no one called me. At 4:30 I called my warranty company and advised them that no one showed, they called gator and he was on his way and close to my house at 5:10 he finally showed up, spent 10 minutes under the sink replaced two small filters and $45.00 later he was gone. They didn't even discount the copay for being 2 hours an 10 minutes late.
Gator Drain and Plumbing are liars and thieves, I got them through a home warranty company in regard to my leaking water heater. Bruce came out and started to claim immediately that I was out of code, meanwhile there was never any issues in our 14 years of home ownership and even having replaced the water heater once before back in 07, The next day I got word that it would cost me out of the pocket 540.00 in modifications and upgrades, which I didn't want or ask for. They claimed that it was not up to code, so I had code inspector come to my home and conferred with another one they both claimed my system and hook ups was fine that the only thing I should have is a pressure release value which cost about 40.00 if that ! When I told them this they asked for the contact information of the inspectors but they didn't bother to call. They then insisted that I pay the full 540.00 or that they won't do the job ,after I already got nailed for a 75.00 service call. This is like extortion, even after I told them that I would sign a wavier and a release of liability form.AT this point I just wanted to get it down its been aggravation dealing with them and the warranty co. I asked also asked for an itemized list of their so called modifications and they never sent it. They are both lairs and thieves and I will be contacting the DBPR and the state authorities. They should loose their licence for unethical behavior . They are taking advantage of people, they have no shame, and are a disgrace. I hope they go out of business or end up in court or even better IRS audits them. If their company was just a little bit better it would really suck ! I hope no one uses them.
Gator installed over 100' of buried natural gas line and hooked up a pool heater and a grill. After the pavers were put down (around the pool) we smelled gas. They found the leak under the pavers by the grill and repaired it promptly and courteously. If I owned a plumbing company I would hire Jimmy and Johnathan without hesitation. Everyone makes a mistake once in a while. It's what you do about it that matters.
