I had this company come over to fix what should have been a simple clog. After a 2 weeks of dealing with this company, Beis Plumbing (Valley Park) came and immediately fixed the problem.

My basement drain was backing up. Gateway immediately went to work in the yard cleanout. The water drained. A week later, the drain was backing up again. He came out again but did no work because the water had slowly drained, but he did not even cable to check if the pipes were clear. The rest of the month, the house smelled like poop as it backed up time and time again.

When I called Beis Plumbing, they cabled a line in the basement, which is where the problem was in the first place. He found a soft clog and cleared the line. I paid twice as much with the new company, but at least the job got done.

Manager refused to give me a refund claiming my problem did not present itself to the technician, but I don't think the technician knew how to look for the source of the clog. Will not use again.

lady had a Poor attitude on the phone, she gave me the impression that I was bothering her. I was just calling to make an appointment. Tech showed up with in adequate tools for the job. This is not the Techs fault, as local 562 - the company is responsible for supplying a stocked service van. I really wanted this company to work out, as I am in need for a reliable trustworthy plumber for my rental properties.

Hire them if you want to burn money. I had them cable two drains and the tech left a huge mess. I had to make him clean up his mess. Had another issue a couple months later and called another company due to the mess gateway left. The tech from the other company asked why the previous tech from gateway did not do several things. I had no idea at the time but turns out gateway did not do their job. I contacted them after learning this and the manager agreed the tech did not do his job. He also did not agree to refund the cost. So I paid gateway to not do their job and found out after the fact.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! they say they are cheap compared to other companies, well there is a reason for that... not once but twice had to have them called ($200) each time, and said they fixed the problem. When asked why the drain backed up I was told some bs excuse that my pipes ""were in rough shape"" and because of this could not get a camera down there to find my clean out. This wasn't true at all! When I called the second plumber who came out, he basically said that I would need to repair my pipes under the house in order to stop it. FALSE! I called a different company who was recommended by a friend and he came out. Flushed out everything, got a camera in there, and you know what? FOUND THE CLEAN OUT! Imagine that, pipes are in good shape and the problem is now fixed. AGAIN DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

Jason fixed our blocked drain with no mess or fuss. He arrived promptly and was very professional. Well done! The woman who set up the appointment was also very good. I commend this company to clear your blocked drains efficiently.

Gateway came to our house to snake out and unclog a drain. The technician went into the basement to snake out the stack. Afterwards, he hooked up a hose to an old, non-functioning faucet without advising us and created a leak. Instead of reporting the leak, the technician left. We later discovered it leaking all over the floor. Gateway claims the leak is not their responsibility. Manager (Brian) was rude and belligerent when I tried to discuss with him. NOT a customer-focused company. Poor attitude. Poor service.

This is the first time I've used Gateway Sewer & Drain and I would give them double stars if I could. They are professional, fast, and provide excellent service. The work performed in my house was wonderful, and the plumber did not leave any mess. They came the same day I called. Excellent value as well! Definitely consider this company if you need someone!

It is so nice to have workers come in to do a job and not complain how bad their job is and how they don't get paid enough to do what they do. Gateway came in and did a fast efficient job unplugging our bathroom sinks with very professional attitudes. Thanks!!
