No one wants to have to call the plumber, but when the main sewer line is backing up, you don't have much of a choice. We called on a Tuesday morning and Ed came quickly and arrived exactly when they said he would. Ed cleared the line in an efficient and courteous manner. We had him run the camera to confirm our lack of clean out, and we hired him to come back to put in a clean out for us. After lots of digging, we learned that our existing line was done with the wrong pipe (the cause of our many blockages), so we had Ed and his team come back to replace the whole line. There was lots of digging, including under our house, and a new-to-me technology called pipe bursting that obviated the need to dig a trench. Ed's team showed up as and when promised, all were very nice and the job got done (including all permits and inspections) exactly as Ed said it would go. I hope we never need to call them again, but if we do I'm happy I have Ed's number saved in my phone. I recommend Gary's without reservation.

I just bought a house in San Bruno, and esthetically remodeled the whole place. When I moved in, I quickly realized I had some plumbing issues. I hired some guys to come snake the pipes, which they said they did, but the problem persisted. It got really bad that water was backing up into the tub. I called another contractor that said he could fix the problem at least temporarily, and he was unsuccessful. I finally called Gary's and he sent someone out the next day. He located the problem, dug out the broken clay pipe and cleared the back-up. He said this was a temporary fix, and I have to replace my entire Lateral pipe that goes all the way to the street. I haven't done this because it's not cheap. I'm still going to go with this company, because they fixed in 2 hours what other people couldn't and seemed scared to even try once basic snaking didn't work. Having nasty water backing up and being scared that nasty sewer water can ruin everything you just remodeled is scary and I can't trust just anyone with this. I'm not saying Gary is expensive, but I know he'll do it right. You get what you pay for!

We had a main line issue and called Gary's Plumbing. Robert came out and complained that there is no good clean out to use. He keeps pushing me to build a clean out right there, and quoted me $2500. I refused to do major work without getting bids. He managed to get the water to flow and charged me $300. Guess what, our drain backed up 3 days later. Rooter came out this time and cleaned it completely to the street with the same clean out hole. With camera, they also pinged the location where a pipe was broken. They quoted me 300 less in building a clean out.

Had a clogged main sewer line from my house. I called a different company with a 5 star rating on yelp and they were not able to unclog it. The other company tried to push me toward a $2500+ pipe repair job. So I called Gary's and they came out on the weekend and had everything cleared in minutes. No expensive repair job needed. Thanks guys for the great work and especially thanks to Robert who was able to complete the job the other guy couldn't. It's great to know there's someone I can trust with plumbing work.

We had a plumbing emergency and was referred to Gary's by another plumber who was honest enough to say they did not have sufficient equipment to do the job. Gary immediately answered the phone and he was quite pleasant and informative. He quoted us a price that was reasonable so we took the plunge...and it turned out to be an unforgettable evening that my wife and I will never forget.

Robert turned up and after a while cleared our main drain that was clogged. But as he started talking to me, I realized we had some common ground; that he was a born-again, spirit-filled Christian. Talking to Robert, he not only encouraged me in my walk with God but also reminded me to reignite my passion for God and His work. It's somewhat funny, here was a plumber to fix my toilet but he not only fixed it, he fixed my confidence and breathed life into me and for that, I will always be grateful.

Robert also reduced the original price that was quoted us from $500 down to $250 and we are very grateful and extremely blessed! Robert, if you are reading this, thank you once again for being a blessing to me and my family, not only financially but spiritually!!

Ed showed up early - no complaints!
He put down guards to prevent staining messes that come with drain cleaning.
He assessed the situation quickly and unblocked the drain shortly after.
Before he left, he gave me good advice on how to reduce the chance of future clogs.
The charge for the fix was reasonable, likely better than others.
So, nice guy, helpful, competent and a good clean up at completion make for a 5 star.

Used this provider again (not sure if my previous review will persist as I never was reviewing the same provider twice). This time for a costly job: replacing sewer pipe. When I first heard the price I was very skeptical - I didn't know the prices on the market. When the guys have come and started working I changed my mind. I was watching as they were working (not because of distrust, it was just a curiosity - I'm an engineer myself) and had to admit the price was well deserved.

While digging they've discovered that scope of the work is larger than they were expecting initially. That was a surprise for us both: me and them. Nobody could expect it in advance. Though, they decided to take this risk on them which made me believe there're real professionals. Other ""professionals"" tend to put all unexpected costs on your shoulders.

It was a very positive experience. Plus, they give 10 years warranty, and as far as I can tell they exist in business long enough to claim this is a realistic promise. First person I was calling for this job has left the business in just a year.
