Jessica B.I have worked with this company twice over the past month due to the fact that we are moving out of our house and needed some items to get fixed. Both times they have been great. They accommodated our plumbing needs and were very professional and courteous. They also showed up to give an estimate AND do the work on the same exact day which was great. I recommend them to anyone in the area.
Charles B.The folks installed a water heater for me last week. Called 4 plumbers, these guys and Harold's plumbing were the only quotes over the phone. They were prompt, knew what they were doing and did a good job. They cleaned up their mess afterward. Fair price and product. I'd use them again. This is the same gary fox plumbing in kent just different address
I work for a small business, and we have worked with Gary fox Plumbing in the past, they're work is fast and we haven't had any issues with the quality. The only complaint that I have is that the Russian gentleman that came in with his partner to do a quote for us, barely speaks English, and was in serious need of some deodorant. I expect for a plumber's work clothes to not be in pristine condition as I am sure their job is messy, but his shirt was covered in stains and his hair was unkempt and greasy. As they are the face of the business I would expect them to put a little more effort into their appearance so that they are showing the customer that the company is professional and cares about the image that they are putting out to prospective customers.
What a difference a couple years makes. I've used them before on a holiday weekend at night and felt fairly treated. Puttine my reputation on the line every time I mention them to friends I did so this morning. Won't do it again. They charged more than a pediatric cardio specialist visit costs for less than an hour of work. I called them on it. When the phone was answered, it sounded like someone getting woke up from a all night bender. Not saying it was, but sure sounded like it. And he didn't answer in the name of the business. Had to ask if it was GF plumbing. Not professional in any manor.
worst service company I have ever dealt with. I live out of state, so contracted with GFP to fix a small leak from toilet tank bolt(s). Had to schedule for a Saturday morning to meet with my tenants schedule. They got my name, address, phone # and credit card info, as well as address of my property & my tenants phone # to alert her of their arrival time. I ALSO gave instructions to call me when they arrived, and when they finished. NEVER called me - my tenant called after they left. They arrived 8 hours late (ruined my tenants day/evening plans). NEVER called me so that we could go over what I needed done. Instead, they tried to convince my tenant to buy a NEW toilet - she refused. they then did their work(?). I called the following monday, and couldn't get an answer, nor any call backs. A couple of weeks later, I did talk with owner (gary fox) and he gave me a pile of excuses and said someone was let go because of their performance. He didn't know who I was (property owner) nor did he have my home address OR credit card info, or couldn't find invoice. Asked that I wouldn't call BBB or State Atty. Gen office when I stated that I was. I told him that when he DID find my invoice send me the bill. 1 year later, my tenant gets a 'collection notice'!!! When I received it from her, I tried to talk with gary fox TWICE, but both times I was hung up on by whoever answered the phone. AND, the bill showed a ""toilet rebuild"" for $255.00l!!!
As it is now, I have sent complaints to BBB & Atty. Gen. consumers protection.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS with this unprofessional & shoddy company. BTW, they are NOT a BBB accredited business, so that might say something about their work quality, and have NOT settled several BBB complaints.
Brenda B.If I could give NO stars, guess what these, ahem, plumbers would get? I called because I had a leak somewhere between the water meter & my home. Shutting off the water, and even digging out a square yard of my lawn for them, was a waste of MY TIME. The ""plumber"" shows up, and just starts digging, without using a ""leak detector,"" which my city said ""a REAL plumber has this equipment..."" I later find out I was being billed $392.01 for one hour and twenty minutes!!! I also had the city tell me, ""if anyone digs deeper than 12 inches, you need to call before you dig..."" Guess who didn't inform this homeowner or the proper utilities that he was digging two, almost three feet deep?! My DOCTOR doesn't charge THIS kind of money! STAY AWAY, ASK FOR AN HOURLY QUOTE, BUYER BEWARE!!!!
OH! And if you ask to speak to someone ""at the office"" - a ""manager,"" you will probably get the same double talk I got. Seriously, the guy talked to me twice, would NOT give me his name.
Michael G.Technical knowledge very lacking. First tech recommended replacing entire valves and handles for a drip on some bathtub faucets, clearly the easiest but by no means frugal solution. In general he seemed very willing to offer unsubstantiated advice. He was prepared to cut into our kitchen floor to pull a dishwasher out to inspect a valve, another thing the 2nd tech overrode him on.
Brought a second tech with him the next day who was even less knowledgeable but at least recommended just replacing the cartridges on the bathtub faucets. All forgivable... after all, they were the one company that showed up the SAME day when I called.
What is hard to overlook, however, is that the tech no showed an appointment the 2nd visit (a day later). When called, apologized then came late. I can live with that in general but the relationship started leaving a real sour taste in my mouth that was seared in once the 2nd tech started asking multiple questions.... while I was in the middle of cooking dinner. The first tech agreed to bring different handle options but never did. The person I spoke to on the phone was nice as were the techs in general but I think I'll just avoid the headache next time.
Josh C.They showed up fast, got the job done quick. They would have gotten 5 stars if they had given me an estimate before just doing the work. I know it was under our building and all and probably hard to estimate but it would have been nice. Mostly because the job cost more than I would have liked but seemed with in reason for an emergency call. However after dealing with plumbers of all types over the years they deserve the 4 stars.
Chris K.I called several local plumbers to get bids for the work I needed at my home. I called and spoke to Dennis from the Kent, Gary Fox Plumbing & Heating location. Over the phone he was very pleasant and professional. He agreed to a bid for the job. Yet when his plumber arrived the bid amount more than doubled. I was also given an expected amount of time the job would take and it was three times longer which made me late for work. I was shocked because over the phone I told Dennis that I found most plumbers to sound sleezy over the phone and I wanted them to do the work because he (seemed) straight forward and professional. I was concerned about someone trying to dupe me once they arrived. I called Dennis while the plumber stood in my kitchen. He reassured me over the phone that he would meet me in the middle because there was more work that he thought. Not really! He just wasn't adding in the cost of parts over the phone apparently so the price would seem lower, but added the additional cost once they arrived. We agree to the price in the middle and then the plumber argues with me that he can't do the work for the amount agreed upon. SO I had to call Dennis yet again! Then the plumber finally started working. He did 5 out of the 7 things I needed done, that we agreed on. His statement to me was that he couldn't do all the work we'd agreed on for the amount we agreed on. WHAT?!? I insisted he finish the main job and I'd call Dennis to clear up this situation. Dennis reassured me that he would personally come by the next day to finish the ONE last task which should have taken less than 20-30 minutes tops. SO then, when the plumber was leaving he said ""well I can only give you the price agreed if you pay me all in cash."" I informed him that I wasn't prepared with cash as I made the arrangement to pay with my bank card. He said ""well I will need to follow you to the bank then if you want the price DENNIS agreed to."" So off to the bank we drove. He then told me he would not give me a receipt because he needed to not charge tax in order to make the price work. I was again SHOCKED at their business ethics and demanded a copy of the receipt which after agruing infront of the bank he handed a copy over. So back to the remaining job that needed to be finished... I called the next day when Dennis had the nerve to no-show me. He claimed it was an oversight in his schedule and he apologized. He again reassured me that he would come the next Monday since it was a Friday he missed. I said that was fine and I appreciated him prioritizing finishing the job as agreed. Well, needless to say, he never showed up so I called him again. Which was followed up with another excuse. In the end - Dennis as someone who represents Gary Fox Plumbing management: misled me, allowed his plumber to try and rip me off with the work I paid for and then ripped me off himself by never finishing the complete job as agreed and paid for.
I am disgusted by their unethical business tactics of bait with a nice person to answer the phone, then switch and rip you off face to face.
BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE!
I had five bids to do my waterline replacement. Gary Fox Plumbing sent me Dennis.
He knows plumbing. Got a fair and reasonable bid from him, and put him to work.
Quality job throughout including restoring my gravel driveway to near pre ditch condition even though it rained all day during the trenching.
I would use Dennis again without the bid process. I trust him.
Be very careful of bids from southwest plumbing because they are way too high. More than 2 1/2 times higher than any other bid.
