Didn't install ANY venting for my water heater. Now 1 1/2 years later it's rusting & breaking. Won't return my calls or messages.

On another occasion I called and requested service (because their stickers are all over the plumbing in my basement).Gave them my cc number so they would come out.

Two days later the technician was in my house less than 10 minutes saying ""there is nothing I can do"". Then 15 minutes later (that 15 spent in his truck getting me a quote for pipe insulation) I got a $2k quote for something my husband ended up doing for less than $100. When it came time for me to sign the service receipt they were trying to charge me $125. I said ""no you didn't even do anything"".

Technician got his boss on the phone 10 minutes later and his boss was going on about insurance costs of the plumbing truck. I didn't sign anything. I wasn't paying $125 for 5 minutes.

Then fast forward one month and what charge appears on my credit card but one from this company.Scammers!!

Recently I had a problem with my faucet and tried Garrelts in Ringwood. When they came, all it needed was the small ring on the faucet to be rinsed out. I really should have been able to do that myself. It took 5 minutes. Being a first time customer you would have thought they would give me a break but instead he had the service guy charge me $165. The service guy was very nice but I will never use them again.

This is a horrible plumbing company. Charged a fortune and I believe they spent the majority of their time in my house placing their business stickers on every plumbing fixture or pipe. Buyer beware.

There is reason why plumbers get a bad rap and Garrelts & Sons is the main reason why. In 2008 I was away on a business trip and our sump pump went out. My wife called Garrelts. They came out told my wife we required a new sump pump. They installed a new sump pump, that cost all of $180.00 and then sold her a 7 year warranty for a total bill of $953.20.

Well today the sump pump failed and the same company who claims they have 24 hour service and will return your call in 30 minutes still have not called back for over 2 hours. So it looks as if my warranty that my wife paid $894.20 is useless!

I guess if you want to read between the lines here, I would think twice before you decide to call Garrelts & Sons Plumbing ! If you decide to , then suffer the consequences!

Great job, at a reasonable price. Jeff replaced my water softener last week, along with a couple other plumbing ""tweaks"" (I learned that hard water had been going to my ice cube maker!) He was very efficient and knowledgeable. He explained his recommendations and his reasons for them, which I really appreciate!

I have to agree with Gene. Took a day off from work to have them come out to do work based on a quote they had given me over the phone. Guy gets there and said ""oh the quote didn't include this or that, that will be above and beyond the quote."" I was very clear and explicit to what I wanted to the guy on the phone. The funny part is the plumber said there always seems to be a disconnect to what the office said and what the customer said. That is shocking (sarcasm)! Then it turns out they didn't do it right and when I discovered it they told me the plumber who did the work is on vacation, and he will be back next week. Avoid them at all costs!

This business exemplefies why homeowners hate to call a plumber, needed some help on a Saturday, Quoted a $95.00 service fee which seemed fair, once they got to the house the repair charge was $395.00. Took less then 30 minutes to repair, Rip off. Rip off.
