Professional experience from beginning to end. We have an older home in Curtis Park. Garick knows older homes. Our HVAC system was over 20 years old. They installed a whole new system including new ducts. All quality work. The crew was professional. Little details of the work was professional.

We had been on vacation and came home to our freezing house and discovered our heater would not come on. We reached out to companies we had used in the last 35 years and all said they were too busy to assist us. Garick scheduled us for the next morning and we found one other company willing to come that afternoon, as we wanting two estimates. Thank goodness!
The technician from the other company was unprofessional and obviously had his mind made up of what we would need, without even doing a thorough investigation. Basically told us there could be a part that might help that he would need to order but expected we would need a whole new heating and A/C system.
When Branden from Garick arrived the next morning, it was like finding the Motherlode. He professionally outlined what he wanted to check, explained every step along the way, and left us with our heating system working better than it has for several years. He outlined what to expect given the age of our furnace, and suggested we get on their annual servicing schedule. No brainer for us to sign up for that- as important as getting scheduled maintenance done to take care of our cars. Icing on the cake...we had shown him the invoice from the prior day's company and because we had gotten another opinion, but wisely chose Garick to do our repair, Garick's company policy reduced what we paid for parts and labor by 50%. Even before that, the cost was more than reasonable!
Garick will be the only name we suggest to family and friends going forward!!

I am providing an update to this review because YELP apparently flagged the original review as unrecommended. Hard to understand why. It is a glowing review and I wholeheartedly recommend Garick for anyone's HVAC maintenance and repair needs. I have been happily warm since they rescued me from a month of no heat on 50 degree days and 35 degree nights because the prior company I had worked with was giving me grief. It was a straightforward repair and Brandon not only made the repair as soon as the part came in, but got the system going for me as noted in my earlier review so that I (finally!) had heat until that repair could be done.Thank you again Garick.

This is the first time I have used Garick. Brad was my technician. He arrived on time and called me before he arrived. My furnace quit and the screen on the thermostat was blank. I did a little trouble shooting and decided that this repair was above my skill level. My favorite part of the transaction was that Brad respected and appreciated my trouble shooting which professional techs often do not. Brad found that indeed my old thermostat had a short in it and had blown a fuse inside the furnace which I would have had difficulty finding. Brad installed a new thermostat and set it up to fit my needs. On my old thermostat I was not able to set the system to run strictly by time to avoid the dreaded 5 to 8 pm SMUD rates. Brad set this one up to take care of that.
I will definitely use Garick again and I'll ask for Brad. I appreciate a company that wants to work with me to get what I want, not what they want. I found it.

Garick just installed a Fujitsu mini split heating and air conditioning system in my 1924 bungalow. From permitting to inspection and everything in between they were fantastic. The work was professional, the communication was courteous and the job site was immaculate. Everyone was friendly and they did exactly what they said they would do when they said they would do it. They even made friends with our pets. Love them!

Last week during the first heat wave our AC was blowing hot air. Called Kimberlie at Garick explained the issue last Thursday. She advised to have the AC turned off and open all the windows, she would try her best to have someone out the next day. She promptly called me the following morning at 8:00 a.m. and said she was able to move a few things around and Brad would be out between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Brad arrived early came in diagnosed the issue and had it fixed before 2:30 p.m. Thank you Garick for employing such wonderful people. We are so happy Garick is our AC company of choice.

Kurtis was great! He called to see if he could come early. He was very professional and personable. Kurtis gave me the assessment of the ducts that needed to be replaced. Next step, scheduling the work to be done!

I was shocked to learn that this company (that was referred to me by a close friend) charges for providing a quote for repairs. This was not something that was disclosed at the time I made the appt. or during the appt. It was at the end of the appt that I was asked to pay $125 for my quote. The same quote that other companies are more than happy to provide FREE of charge. The personnel we're friendly and I have no negative review to give them personally, but I can't help but feel a little taken advantage of. The technician did say if I use their services for the work they will credit me the $125. But at this point it's principle for me. It just would have been nice to know this up front. Hopefully this review will help someone else not fall victim.

Other companies bid unsuccessfully until Warren, Garick's Design Consultant, arrived. He performed an extensive survey of the house which took over an hour. He checked the ducks in the attic and under the house and showed where leaks were occurring and insulation had been damaged. He measured each room and checked the outlets. He spent another hour helping us design our plan. Never before has anyone performed such a complete survey or provided this kind of help. Next Larry and Brian arrived to install the equipment and repair the duct, etc. They were a joy to be around and were very meticulous with their work. They were very careful about keeping the house clean. They broke a sprinkler during the installation and they fixed it. Their bid was less the other companies we looked at. I highly recommend you give them a call. You will be glad you did. Donald R

The guys at Garick were all great to work with from start to finish, so glad we went with them for our ductwork replacement! The quote was competitive with the others but clearly more detailed and well thought out l, so we went with them. And Brian and Larry did a wonderful job on the 3 day installation. They were neat and courteous and didn't cut corners - which is much appreciated. Our house is over 100 yrs old so it needed a little extra TLC and some custom fixes, which they took care of creatively and easily! Would definitely recommend.
