I am providing an update to this review because YELP apparently flagged the original review as unrecommended. Hard to understand why. It is a glowing review and I wholeheartedly recommend Garick for anyone's HVAC maintenance and repair needs. I have been happily warm since they rescued me from a month of no heat on 50 degree days and 35 degree nights because the prior company I had worked with was giving me grief. It was a straightforward repair and Brandon not only made the repair as soon as the part came in, but got the system going for me as noted in my earlier review so that I (finally!) had heat until that repair could be done.Thank you again Garick.

This is the first time I have used Garick. Brad was my technician. He arrived on time and called me before he arrived. My furnace quit and the screen on the thermostat was blank. I did a little trouble shooting and decided that this repair was above my skill level. My favorite part of the transaction was that Brad respected and appreciated my trouble shooting which professional techs often do not. Brad found that indeed my old thermostat had a short in it and had blown a fuse inside the furnace which I would have had difficulty finding. Brad installed a new thermostat and set it up to fit my needs. On my old thermostat I was not able to set the system to run strictly by time to avoid the dreaded 5 to 8 pm SMUD rates. Brad set this one up to take care of that.
I will definitely use Garick again and I'll ask for Brad. I appreciate a company that wants to work with me to get what I want, not what they want. I found it.

Garick just installed a Fujitsu mini split heating and air conditioning system in my 1924 bungalow. From permitting to inspection and everything in between they were fantastic. The work was professional, the communication was courteous and the job site was immaculate. Everyone was friendly and they did exactly what they said they would do when they said they would do it. They even made friends with our pets. Love them!

Last week during the first heat wave our AC was blowing hot air. Called Kimberlie at Garick explained the issue last Thursday. She advised to have the AC turned off and open all the windows, she would try her best to have someone out the next day. She promptly called me the following morning at 8:00 a.m. and said she was able to move a few things around and Brad would be out between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Brad arrived early came in diagnosed the issue and had it fixed before 2:30 p.m. Thank you Garick for employing such wonderful people. We are so happy Garick is our AC company of choice.

Kurtis was great! He called to see if he could come early. He was very professional and personable. Kurtis gave me the assessment of the ducts that needed to be replaced. Next step, scheduling the work to be done!

I was shocked to learn that this company (that was referred to me by a close friend) charges for providing a quote for repairs. This was not something that was disclosed at the time I made the appt. or during the appt. It was at the end of the appt that I was asked to pay $125 for my quote. The same quote that other companies are more than happy to provide FREE of charge. The personnel we're friendly and I have no negative review to give them personally, but I can't help but feel a little taken advantage of. The technician did say if I use their services for the work they will credit me the $125. But at this point it's principle for me. It just would have been nice to know this up front. Hopefully this review will help someone else not fall victim.

Other companies bid unsuccessfully until Warren, Garick's Design Consultant, arrived. He performed an extensive survey of the house which took over an hour. He checked the ducks in the attic and under the house and showed where leaks were occurring and insulation had been damaged. He measured each room and checked the outlets. He spent another hour helping us design our plan. Never before has anyone performed such a complete survey or provided this kind of help. Next Larry and Brian arrived to install the equipment and repair the duct, etc. They were a joy to be around and were very meticulous with their work. They were very careful about keeping the house clean. They broke a sprinkler during the installation and they fixed it. Their bid was less the other companies we looked at. I highly recommend you give them a call. You will be glad you did. Donald R

The guys at Garick were all great to work with from start to finish, so glad we went with them for our ductwork replacement! The quote was competitive with the others but clearly more detailed and well thought out l, so we went with them. And Brian and Larry did a wonderful job on the 3 day installation. They were neat and courteous and didn't cut corners - which is much appreciated. Our house is over 100 yrs old so it needed a little extra TLC and some custom fixes, which they took care of creatively and easily! Would definitely recommend.

We are 43 year Garick customers. That ended today. For all these years, we have honored their policies, agreed to the twice yearly inspections which supposedly gave us preferential service in time of need.
One year ago, a control board was replaced in our nearly 20 year old furnace/ac unit. It worked fine until last week. Last week, the heat would not come on unless we repeatedly turned the system off and on. Garick sent out repair people 3 different times. There was never an answer and the problem persisted. Yesterday, a supervisor came, could find nothing wrong, checked everything again, and told us to call him early this morning, if necessary, and they would send out a technician right away. Again, this morning, no heat. The office person told us no one was available until Tuesday. When we asked to speak to a supervisor/owner, we were placed on hold for 45+ minutes, first being told the person we wanted was in the warehouse and then in a meeting. But, we were promised a callback. No callback, no apology, no courtesy (which has always been a problem in their front office) which prompted us to sever our business dealings with them.
With one phone call, we found a company willing to juggle its schedule to fit us in before the weekend. It wasn't so difficult for them to do. What's wrong with Garick?
We're very close to needing a new unit, not an inexpensive proposition. Garick will miss that sale and any good will from us.
Look elsewhere for your HVAC needs.

Couldn't be happier with Warren and Brandon's team! They provided a reasonable quote to install a new heating and air system for my older 1920's bungalow. They were great about communicating their scheduling and started when they said they would.

During the install, the crew was very respectful to the tenants, laying down tarps and mitigating dust as best as possible. They always showed up on time, had a great attitude, and finished the install in 5 days.

They stand by their work and go the extra mile to answer any questions and make sure the job is done right. I would definitely recommend Garick!
