Flushed our upstairs toilet and it decided to leak through the ceiling and into the kitchen!
Darko came by that afternoon to take a look, told us it was probably an old seal, and he could fix it the next day if we wanted. We ended up deciding on our own to buy a whole new toilet because there were other issues with the old toilet that we hadn't fixed properly before and for aesthetic reasons (it was old, not low flow, etc). Darko took out and disposed of the old toilet and installed the new one in just a few hours. He was very friendly and his work was quick and clean. He also explained everything that was broken and what he was going to do to fix it. Really appreciated everything he did and how easy he was to work with.

Our main drain line was clogged. Spend the whole day Saturday trying to snake it myself but to no avail. I was stressing. We couldn't use any faucet or toilet in the house. I couldn't sleep at all Saturday night. I finally tried to call a could of places but one was booked and the other would not touch it cause the clean out line was in the crawl space. I called Darko at galaxy plumbing. Felt like he knew want he was doing. He was asking several questions. He said he would be here within the hour. I called him a little after 7am Sunday. I was very happy he was coming out. Now the question was, was is going to be able to fix our clog. Good thing I was in the middle of a bathroom remodel. I had the wall torn out. Alex cut into the vent pipe and was able to snake his machine all the way to the street. Once he cut a small access hole, he cleared the clog in minutes. Needless to say, I was very happy. He burnt his grinder while trying to cut the vent pipe (solid 2"" pipe). So at the end, I gave him my corded Makita grinder. He was happy. I was happy. His price was very reasonable. Mind you, I was willing to pay what he was going to charge. I was desperate.

My kitchen sink was clogged and the water was backing up. I tried all the usual home remedies myself before calling someone. They usually work, but occasionally you have to call a professional. I first called a big name plumber company. They wanted to charge me $79 just to come out and diagnose the problem. In other words an ""estimate"". I asked if they could give me a ballpark number and they said ""no"". I told them I did not have outdoor access and I had a P-Trap, hoping they could give me some idea on cost. They still refused to give me an estimate (I wasn't asking for a quote) over the phone. I told them I'd call them back and that $79 charge quickly went down to $39. I told them I still did not feel right about paying someone $39 for an estimate when I have no idea how expensive it will be in the end. Even if I did not use their services I would still have to pay the $39. I'm not in the habit of paying for estimates, so I told them I'd call them back.

I got on Yelp and found Galaxy Rooter & Plumbing. Darko had 5 stars and it seemed like people really had some nice stuff to say about him. From the reviews I did read, I could not agree more. I called Galaxy and left a voicemail. He called back within 5-10 minutes. I told him my problem and that I had a P-Trap and no outside access and asked for an estimate. Without any hesitation he gave me an estimate. I had used a big name plumber years ago for the same problem and from what I remember I paid more than what Darko estimated, so I booked him. He said he'd be over in about 2 hours. He showed up on time, wearing a face mask and shoe covers. He was friendly, he asked a few questions and got to work. Within 30 minutes he was done. He did not leave any mess and the drain was cleared. He asked me to check all the faucets in the house to make sure the clog hadn't just moved further down the line. I tested all the sinks and things were running smooth. He charged me exactly what he told me on the phone. He let me pay with credit card with a small fee (which was fine with me because he told me ahead of time). As he was leaving he said I had a 30 day guarantee and to call him back if it got clogged up again or if there were any problems. I like that Darko is no nonsense. He is honest and straightforward. No silly games.

The drain in our kitchen blocked up so we needed some help to get it cleared out. After checking the reviews for plumbers on Yelp we I contacted Galaxy Rooter. I spoke with Darko and set up an appointment for later in the morning. He arrived on time, quickly set up the necessary equipment and proceeded to clean out the drain. After thoroughly clearing the drain he cleaned up the area. Darko is a straightforward businessman and was easy to work with. Another plus is that he is based in Pleasanton and I always prefer to support our local small businesses.
