Run, don't walk away from this septic company! The proprietor, Rod is an abrasive, abusive-talking, price-gouger. I am experienced septic and property owner - used many other companies in the past with now problems - but he and his one sole employee came out to my home to pump because it was backing into the house. They charged me $1500 for this service. A week later, when it backed up again I called them to come fix it because clearly the job was incomplete. It was difficult to get them back and when they did, they never communicated to me upfront about the fact that this was an additional charge. In fact, his tech said himself the job was not done completely the first time. Then I got a bill for $1100. For a total of $2600! Literally the most insane money I have ever spent on any septic pumping. YOU CAN DO BETTER! When I called Rod to complain, he just yelled and talked over me. I realize you are reading this taking it with a grain of salt but all I can say is that if you can work with a company where the chances of you having a similar problem are less, you should do it. I have told my any friends on Whidbey not to use this company for their poor service and price gouging.

I'm so thankful to these guys. they showed up with very little notice, on a federal holiday, and worked really hard to get our system going again. They were nice to my kids, my dog, they showed me how to clean our septic filter and helped diagnose the issue. Unfortunately, we have some issues with roots needing to be taken out of the pipes, but they even helped get that work scheduled. Couldn't have asked for more.

Spoke with Rod Gabelein this morning on the phone. Not currently having any septic problems, but I wanted to get more info on the work his company will handle.

We had Gabelein Bros do an emergency pump on our system once in the past and we were very happy with their services.

I called this morning to ask a few questions about our system and other services provided by Gabelein Bros.

Rod took time with me on the phone to explain his business. I was very happy with his explanations in answering my questions.

I am very confident that I would be happy in dealing with him any time in the future.

I had them out for a septic tank pumping and was very satisfied with the service. It turned out I had a small repair to be done too. They were very knowledgeable, and explained all kinds of things to me that I was really glad to find out. They weren't impatient with my 20 question drill. My system got fixed, and they did a good job for a good price. When I called initially to schedule and check prices, I got brief and direct communication, nothing fancy, and nothing other than that is needed, either.

Called for a simple quote for a portable toilet. He seemed agitated that he used to have the account and he ""got booted"". I explained he came with high recommendations and I was gathering information on who would be our best contractor for this service. He continued to be angry and hung up the phone after saying, ""I don't give a shit what you guys do""!
My second reason for calling him was to have my personal septic system inspected......not with this guy though.
Don't know if he was having a bad day or what.....but he lost a customer and referrals from me. Too bad because he is a local small business.

Rod did a great job coordinating with concrete company to replace the entire lid on my septic tank. It had been driven over, was cracked and caving in. He knew I had sold the house and needed the work done asap. He did it all within 1 week including arranging to have the custom-sized concrete lid built. He was great with the equipment, finessed sliding the broken lid off with his new small back hoe and nothing fell into the tank. He's the best!
