I called G&M on a Wednesday to make an appointment for the following Monday. They told me that someone would be out between 8 and 10 in the morning.
When Monday came, my wife took the morning off from work to meet the plumber. When 10:30 came, the plumber had not arrived, and she had received no call telling her that there was a delay. She called the G&M office, but got no answer and had to leave a message. Finally, at 12:30, someone called and asked if we were ready for the plumber to come out, as if nothing was wrong. I told them that we would keep the appointment if they would waive their initial service fee. They refused, and I canceled the appointment. We were going to need work done, so in the end waiving the fee wouldn't have cost them a penny - it would have just been a sign of good faith.
Obviously to me, my time didn't matter one bit to G&M, nor did keeping my business. I'll never use them again.

G & M plumbing is the ultimate family business. After contracting Centex to fix my foundation, my plumbing had busted under the house. Their plumber quoted me close to $6000 on top of the $6000 to fix the foundation. They sent down a camera to see where the leaks were before I was given the quote, and for that I had to pay $300. When I found out the price to fix this through their independent contractor I was in tears. I called G & M plumbing and Lucy was wonderful. She was genuinely concerned. Their price quote was the lowest out of every place I called, which was $2400. When they came out Gus and Eric were super friendly. We had already layed down our flooring in the living room and had to rip the majority back up because Centex's plumber pointed out the spots where the leaks were. Well when Gus came out he asked me why I had ripped it up, and I explained it to him. Centex had used a camera and told me the pipes were busted in the wrong spots!!!! I was furious. I called Centex and demanded my $300 back for the camera scoping and told them I didn't know what kind of scam they were trying to pull, but this was not good customer service. I did end up getting my deposit back. Not only did Gus and Eric fix my problem for cheap, I have had little problems arise and they came out after hours and didn't charge me. Gus even helped me find a guy to do my tile for incredibly cheap and translated the Spanish for me. From what I understand he used to be employed by Centex and left after he found out what they were doing to their customers. This family owned and operated business is more than what I could have asked for. I often see Gus at my local HEB and he is always smiling and friendly. I would definitely recommend.

I have a main street insurance agency in an old (1930's) converted house. The old building can't help but need the assistance of contractors of all kinds on occasion. I was referred to G & M Plumbing by a friend and couldn't be happier with the service I received. They arrived on time, were very friendly (Eric helped us), and quickly knocked out the small leak (replaced faucet) in no time at all with no inconvenience to my clients. And the invoice was smaller than expected. I'm careful with referring businesses but would proudly recommend G & M Plumbing. There are now my go-to plumbing company.

I just had my foundation repaired and used G&M plumbing for the hydro static pressure test. Eric the plumber showed up and was VERY professional, he knew exactly what he was doing. He performed the test and within 15 minutes had the results. NO LEAKS!!!! YAY!! I highly recommend G&M plumbing.

Gus is great guy. I made my call because my water pipes were frozen. No water in the house which is bad. Gus was able to find the source of the problem right away and fix it. In about an hour, we had water in the house.
Definitely recommend.

I normally don't do reviews but had to on this one. so Here it goes.
I called a big named service (ARS) bunch of thieves!!!! ARS came out to my rent house (which I was unable to be there at the time because I live out of town) and charged me $1428 to repair some busted pipe directly under my toilet and then to tell me I had roots growing 10 feet into my plumbing under the slab with more busted pipe, then gave me a bid for $4200 to fix that which did not include repairing the slab back. Which would be an additional $700 at least I was told. So I decide to make the trip to Austin and look for myself.
So I called G&M talked with Lucy on Labor Day and they were willing to come out and meet with me whenever at no charge! I met them Wed morning because that was the soonest I could be there. They were very nice and friendly.
Wed morning comes around and G&M Show up on time and began looking around. He asked if I wanted him to run the camera to check it out/ So he called his son and he came with the camera. They were able to run the camera and determine there was absolutely no other damage, it was very obvious I was about to get screwed by the other company. I asked him how much he would charge me to repaire the huge hole they had already busted and put my pipe back and reset my toilet, when he told me $350 bucks and no charge to run the camera, I almost died I couldn't believe it!!! I went from almost $7000 to $350, maybe he felt bad for me but I was happy as could be and he will be my plumber for now on. Thanks Gus, Eric and Lucy I will tell everyone I know about your honest hard working company.

Eric from G & M Plumbing performed a required pressure test when we had our home's foundation repaired. G & M Plumbing came highly recommended to do the work. Eric explained the test process to me and my husband before he did the test. Afterward, he discussed the test results. Eric was very thorough and professional in all that he did. He was very helpful, courteous, and personable also. Eric represented G & M Plumbing extremely well by providing a superior customer experience. Thank you, Eric! We will continue to rely on G & M Plumbing for all of our plumbing needs. And, we will recommend them to our friends and work mates.

On Sunday, July 4th at 11:00pm (a holiday weekend!) my tenant called me that water was leaking out from under the bathroom cabinet, about a pint an hour. I called several plumbers and found that some were closed until Tuesday or I could pay double time for an emergency. My tenant and I decided that towels would work until the next morning.
I got on Yelp and saw good things about this company so I called them around midnight. I was told I'd get a call in the morning to see when they'd be there.
Sure enough, at 7:00am the next morning I was informed that they would be there between 8:00am-9:00am. Gus Martinez was on-time, pleasant and knew his stuff! He charged me his regular rate and found the problem (the unit next door's ice-maker valve) and was done in an hour.
Am I ever glad I checked Yelp first! If you need a great plumber who won't rip you off, call them. I'm sure glad I did.

I was just coasting through a typical day when I was blindsided by a plumbing emergency! My entire master bath was flooded with standing water that appeared to be coming from the shower drain. In a panic I called half a dozen plumbing companies and NOT ONE could get to me until the next day. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? This is a freakin emergency!!! I have wood flooring directly outside the bathroom that I was terrified would be ruined by the water.
Then I ran across G&M Plumbing on Yelp and gave them a call. I knew right away I was in good hands just by talking with Lucy. She seemed to understand the meaning of emergency and told me she would contact her tech and call me right back.
Eric was here within 20 minutes and had the problem repaired in another 20. The price was very reasonable and Eric's demeanor was kind and professional.
Then I even received a courtesy call from Lucy afterwards just to make sure everything was ok. She genuinely seemed interested in how I was doing and not just doing another task.
I've already recommended G&M to another friend and won't hesitate to call them next time.

So I had to get my foundation fixed. If you have had this done, you know how stressful it is, so I won't go on. If you haven't........well.....good for you. Keep reading.
After the foundation guys had worked their jackhammer ways for a couple of days, low and behold, there was a break in the plumbing. I stifled my tears and went to yelp. There I found G and M. I called and talked to Lucy. The conversation went something like this:
Me: Hello?
Lucy: Hi! Can I help you?
Me: Yes. I'm having my foundation worked on and..(muffled tears)..The nicked a line.
Lucy: OK. Are you alright?
Me: Yes. (More tears) I'm just a little stressed out from the situation. I'm sorry. I have two preschoolers at home and..
L: It's ok! I understand. What do you need?
Anyway. She was awesome. Totally talked me down from the ledge. She sent out Eric and he came an hour or so later to fix the problem. When another line was nicked a week later they came out again. Not only was it when I would have considered it to be "after hours" (5 o'clock) but they came quickly and didn't charge extra.
The next week when it was time to do the pressure test, there was another problem found. Eric and Gus (his dad) came together and figured out what was going on quickly and with the least amount of stress for me and my family.
I can't express how much I appreciate this family run business enough. Not only were they gracious and kind, but they were funny and easy to talk to. I ended up giving Gus one of my squash transplants to take home for his garden. Also. The amount of their final bill was a good 500$ less than I thought it should be.
So. If you have an emergency or need any other plumbing thing. I highly HIGHLY recommend this family owned and operated business. I will go now and try to regroup.
