placed an order for a shower head & extension. was told 2 -3 weeks for delivery. can deal with that. shower head finally arrived around 7 weeks after order was placed. not cool. extension piece shipped separately earlier and arrived at my home with no identifying paperwork. very poor attention to detail/customer service. will not buy from this place again.

Terrible customer service experience.

This is a review for the FW Webb Portsmouth store.

I can say without hesitation that of all the plumbing and electrical supply houses I have purchased from over 25 years on the Seacoast, FW Webb takes the crown as having by far, delivered the worst customer service experience of my life.

I would not recommend risking a phone call to them as whatever they tell you on the phone is likely to be contradicted by an in store rep.

There are plenty of other reputable dealers who can sell you the same product at better prices.

I had an indirect hot water storage unit fail and called the Portsmouth store to get a quote an an HTP SSU 40 SuperStor. They come with a lifetime warranty and are highly efficient.

I requested a cash price and was quoted a fair amount, just over the online prices I had found. Even though it was a little more, I'd rather do business locally so I asked if it was in stock and the rep confirmed they had them in stock.

I told him I would come by to pick it up. I went to the bank to get cash and later in the day drove out to the store to pick up the unit. The rep I had spoken with was busy with a customer but affirmed our discussion to another rep who said he would write up my order. I sat down with rep #2 and he asked me who was going to be installing it. I said either myself (a simple swap)or a plumber I knew. He asked me who the plumber was and I said a friend who I had not called yet. He informed me that he could not sell me the unit because they are very protective of their plumbers and only sell to wholesale customers/plumbers. This ""wholesale policy"" is not listed on the FW Webb web site or on the Portsmouth store or visible within the store. The only sign I could see ironically was ""the customer comes first"" I had 1K in cash in my pocket and was refused service.

I left, obviously in a fury, called another local competitor who quoted a cash price of $50 less than FW Webb. I told him I would come to pick it up and it was waiting on the loading dock when I arrived. I paid, we loaded it into my vehicle and it is now in my basement being installed.

We showed up on a Saturday morning. There were two salespeople in the showroom. We were looking to replace hardware for an antique clawfoot tub. The first salesperson attempted to be helpful but our tub wasn't standard so she deferred to a senior salesperson and went off to handle other customers. We then waited on Toni the saleslady while she waited on two more batches of customers and then proceeded to eat her lunch at her desk in the showroom. We really needed to replace the hardware otherwise I would have walked out then and there. When Toni finally got around to us she then behaved as if she had been a drill sargent.. She was pretty abrupt and rude considering we had just killed off 2 hours idling in their showroom. We finally got out of there at 2 pm. Found a better deal and much more professional salesperson at Ultimate Bath Showroom in Manchester. Avoid FW Webb and Toni - I lost 3 hours in their showroom that I'll never get back.
