J H.Set an appointment to replace seals in a shower. The shower has a slow drip. I wasn't given a quote over the phone for such a simple task. I wanted a plumber to do it incase the valve had to be replaced.
I was quoted a ridiculous +$1,350 to replace the valve; $400 to replace the rubber seal and spring inside the Delta single handle shower cartridge. Mind you, a rubber seal kit from Home Depot and Lowe's costs less than $15; requires no soldering, etc. It should have been an easy job, but I guess they saw $$ in my eyes.
FNP delayed my appointment by a day, said they had an emergency elsewhere. I believed them and didn't mind. They charged me $49 service fee. Felt more like I was scammed, than anything.
Adam W.To be clear, the plumbers who do come on-site and work with you are professional, friendly, and efficient. I had no issues with the work product, or the timeliness of the repair.
The biggest issue I do have with the company is its business practices. They quote per job, don't provide any line-item pricing, and then tell me it's ""industry standard pricing"".
I have used full nelson a number of times, here are my experiences:
* First visit to replace 2 x (hot and cold) sink pipe runs with PEX. I happen to know that the piping cost is around 20-30 dollars at a maximum. I know there are fixed costs for fittings as well. I was quoted 450 dollars to replace two pipes from the feed to the sink with two shutoff valves. I asked the technician the time it would take, they replied 1.5 hours or so. I asked about the price because 1.5 hours. Plumbers, on average, charge 45-150 per hour. Even at 200 per hour, the price was overly inflated. When I asked about this, it seemed clear that the company sets the rules but the employees know that its outrageous.
* Second encounter that was not so great: I had them come out to repair a tub faucet and install a new shower head. They ended up needing to cut into the sheetrock to which I was then informed it'd be another 100 dollars just to ""touch"" sheetrock amounting to a 1x2ft hole needing to be cut into a wall. The tech again seemed like he knew it was bad, and overly priced, but again they have to play by the rules. The tech was a great person and did great work.
* The third and final encounter was an emergency plumbing call to clean out a sewer line. The tech was great, was patient, and came out after hours. I paid $450 dollars for the visit, and then they wanted to come back and charge another 200 dollars to run a camera down the line. They ran the camera, and I paid, and they said it was broken and needed to be dug up and repaired. I was quoted for a single line item of $5200+ dollars. No labor, no part breakout, nothing. I called multiple plumbers around the area to find that a main line repair was to be 800-1200 dollars on average.
I ended up choosing another plumbing company because I felt truly taken advantage of. The fixed pricing is only meant to assist the plumbing company in lining their pockets. I can see a little margin to compensate for unforeseen issues, but charging $4,000 over the competition then throwing in ""free"" heath checks of your home after the repair seems very disingenuous.
In short, I think their prices are too high, they nickel and dime every thing (for instance, my new plumbers scoped the line after their repair as included in the $850 dollar cost, they were there to fix the issue not find ways to charge me more)
I felt rushed to make a decision on the spot to ""get on the calendar"" and pay the $5200, but my gut told me that it was an over inflated price, and not exposing the components involved (materials and labor) and also asking for four times the price of others in the area is almost simply taking advantage of a situation.
I called and talked to one of the owners who said someone would call me today to explain just why the price had to be so high. I didn't receive the call and I really think that the explanation should be up front and detailed on the quote, not just a single line item and a ""hurry up to book your appointment"" feel. In the end, great employees, but bad business practices.
I should have looked at reviews in depth, because there are multiple complaints of the same high prices and issues from multiple customers.
Good luck full nelson, I'll be taking my rental properties and home plumbing needs elsewhere.
Almost $400 to snake a drain that didn't even get fixed. Got told they could ""comp"" a camera snake to see the issue...then after that diag it would cost more money. Paid the guy just to get him out of my house. The tech was nice and calm even though you could tell the pricing even to him was ridiculous. He sited ""overhead"". How come I got another plumber out that same night from a different company that not only snaked and got all the debris out....but also charged us half? oh...and explained everything your technician did wrong? Will never use nor reccomend this company to anyone again.
Steffanie L.I used this company twice within one month. The first time went smoothly, just overpriced. I later called about a kitchen sink drain that was stopped up and asked the guy to look at one of my bathroom that was draining but just super slowly since he was here. By the time he left neither bathrooms weren't draining at all(the bathrooms are connected). They blamed it on my old pipes and quoted me 2700 dollars to fix what wasn't broken before he got there! Also, he came to me and asked me to sign a liability waiver incase he broke something in the middle of his service. (Sketchy right?) I refused and told him I would rather have a slow drain than a broken pipe. And if I knew if that risk in the beginning I would have declined the auger service. I was frustrated because they refused to take any ownership of the situation. I acknowledged my older house but couldn't trust them because they were acting like it was all the houses fault. Needless to say I got second opinion and the new company anf they solved the problem in 30 minutes for less than 200 dollars. So now I think they were trying to scam or maybe they are just incompetent and/greedy. In the midst of a pandemic at that. Anywho, look elsewhere because this company is hit or miss with plumbing knowledge, too expensive, and won't take accountability for their actions.
Mike H.Full Nelson plumbing will always be my one and only choice for my plumbing needs. I have been using them for a few years. Their customer service communicates very well. The plumbers are always friendly, knowledgeable, professional and produce high-quality work. Today, I hired them to replace a toilet water shut off valve.
Clark H.Our A/C was not working right, so had Full Nelson come out. After trying to repair it, turned out it was shot. Had them replace the heating and cooling system, which was about 25 years old. Showed up a few minutes before they were scheduled at 8am, and were finished up by early afternoon. Can't say enough about the professional, yet friendly people; Scott, Jessica, Bree, Bo and Logan were all outstanding, and went above and beyond. If you're like me, you don't want a big expense like this, but what makes it worse is dealing with people that are uncaring and not helpful. NOT the experience with Full Nelson. Highly recommend!
I went with Full Nelson because of how easy it was to get a hold of someone for scheduling a visit to fix my plumbing needs. I had a lot of trouble finding someone to complete the job in my area, so I was appreciative of how quick it was. I enjoy the text message reminders on appointments. I have used them several times this year from replacing sections of pipe, floor drain update and a new water heater. Their staff are knowledgeable and super friendly. The work they complete is thorough and comes out amazing. I am very pleased with the workmanship, quality, and customer service. I really enjoy how the company follows up to ensure things went well with the completed job. I highly recommend Full Nelson!
Five stars well earned! I needed to connect my old KC house to city water and got quotes from about six different plumbing companies for running a new line. Full Nelson Plumbing was the only one to point out a random pipe that was cut flush with the basement wall and was a bit hidden. They identified it as 3/4"" copper and told me I likely already have an updated line to the curb which someone had previously installed. Then they rolled up their sleeves, cut some new material and spent forty minutes or so trying to turn on the curb valve so we could test and make sure. Also not something any other plumber did. They gave me a fair bid for an inside water hookup... not the highest and not lowest, but reasonable. When the technician showed up he ran through the project specs with me, and listened to and answered whatever questions I had, before beginning work. When he finished he even showed me some pointers with the DIY plumbing I was doing in a bathroom remodel while my payment processed. Full Nelson went the extra mile. They strike me as a high quality and good value local firm. They don't seem gleamingly corporate and over-expensive where you're buying beach houses for five different levels of managers in the back office from a simple plumbing call. Also nothing questionable about them, not late or bad hygiene or unresponsive--nothing that reminds me of ""plumbers crack"" contractors where you always wonder if they're gonna show. They showed up and did good work, and like I said went above and beyond to earn my business--I'd highly recommend them for your project and they will be my first call.
Cindy S.Once again, our experience with the technicians at Full Nelson was outstanding. They are knowledgeable, quick, and thorough. Will definitely use them again. Highly recommend.
I had a small leak in my basement ceiling - an old copper pipe fitting was eroded and had to be replaced. Full Nelson made the appointment quickly and showed up timely, and the men who did the work were polite and responsive. However, they charged me an EXORBITANT amount - $447 for a repair that took 20 to 30 minutes to complete, including 5 minutes of conversation about what the workmen planned to do and what they did. They charged $49 for the trip out and a $150 diagnostic fee which consisted of, and I quote, ""Open Ceiling, Expose Leak, Lay out Drop Cloth, Cut Open Ceiling, Expose Leak, Remove Debris."" (The hole they cut in the ceiling was about a foot square, and since no water had ever dripped on the floor, clean up was minimal.) Rather than deducting the cost of the ""diagnosis"" from the final bill, they charged me an additional $248 for 20 minutes labor and a small (2 or 3 inches) elbow of copper pipe. My realtor was here when they did the work, and he voluntarily commented that I got gouged. A contractor who is doing some work now advised the job was worth $300 TOPS if done by a pricey licensed plumber. I will NEVER call this company again and suggest that you don't if you want to pay a REASONABLE fee for good work,
