Frymire always does a great job. Today, Ramon, Abel and Misael did a wonderful job getting our HVAC system ready for "winter" (do we really have winter here in Texas?). They arrived on time, worked efficiently, and kept me informed about what was going on.

2 stars because the problem was fixed, but the service charge was outrageous and the tech seemed dishonest (although he was very polite). EXTREMELY high service charges for simple repairs (think 150$/hr, and they may work slow). I also never received a paper or electronic copy of my invoice. I have a little handwritten note that the tech gave me with the invoice number, my address, and the price. The correct charge is on my credit card statement.
The last day I was staying in a house, the hot water heater had a leak that tripped the emergency shutoff valve. As the house was owned by some relatives, I felt obligated to repair the problem. I called frymire because they were the people that installed the new water heater 3 years ago (used by someone else living in house previously), and I subsequently noted that they seemed to have a decent rating on yelp and google plus. The company tells me they have a 90 dollar service charge if I refuse repairs.
The tech shows up in the afternoon as I was told he would on the same day I called for service. Note that I did not ask for same day service, just whenever they could come. He looks at my water heater, and finds some water slowly dripping near a faucet at the base of the unit. He tells me its probably the valve/faucet that needs to be replaced, but that it could still be a tank leak further up. I point out that the tank, has a 6 year tank warranty if that is the case, but he tries to minimize that. He's going to try the faucet first, and tells me it would likely be around 250$. Not being totally familiar yet with how much work is involved, and knowing I already would have to shell out 90$ if I refused (meaning if the next guy didn't quote for less than 160 I would be losing money and would likely break even at best), I said go ahead.
He unhooks the water line up top. Drains the unit (in my garage, first floor, drags a hose out to the garden and connects to water heater), and changes the faucet head. When he first starts on it with a wrench, he comments that it's loose. Doesn't offer to try tightening it. He states that it must have come from the factory that way. Total time there, including the time after everything is completely fixed and he is sitting in his truck for 5-10 minutes working on the invoice is ~1.5 hours. And let me be clear that he seemed to be working slow and making a lot of conversation. During some of that conversation, he tells me how I'm lucky as some other techs would just tell me there is a tank leak and I need a new water heater. Anyways, the leak was from the faucet and the new faucet that is appropriately tight has fixed it. He brings me a tablet for signing and payment. The pseudo-itemized invoice showed the part to be 22.50 (and you know they upcharged it) and labor as the rest. That meant that I payed ~225$ for his (maximum, keep in mind he was somewhat slow) 1.5 hours of possibly unnecessary labor. I expected a repair as simple as this to be like 180$ maximum, even if they were charging high service rates. Shame on them. He wants me to take his card for future business. I took it for the trash can. I guess I'm lucky his degree of dishonesty is less than the other techs he was mentioning. Maybe the guys that fix A/Cs are better, or maybe it's luck of the draw with the techs... there are a lot of positive reviews as well. Just know that you are throwing the dice.

Don't bother contacting frymire. They are not in business for new customers. After talking to them about a broken HVAC the lady called back to confirm the time for a tech coming out and instead said "Sorry we decided we aren't taking on any new customers for the summer time since we are too busy". Great business model not to accept new customers prior to showing up especially after scheduling an appointment with them.

Since I was a returning customer, the sales coordinator said they would send the same sales rep, but DID NOT. The sales rep kept telling me that I will have to pay higher prices, from the get go. He plied me with extraneous information I did not need, when I knew the brand and tonnage I wanted. He then promised to send me a quote within the next day or two. But, I never got one. My calls to him went un-returned. When we did get hold of him he said he will get back to the office late in the evening and send us the quote. I then had to get hold of their sales lead to get a quote. They made excuses like my email address was changed. But, the email address they had on file is still active and I check it often. In contrast, ProStar Air was prompt, their salesman was very courteous and gave me a quote very promptly. Over all, pretty poor sales service, before, during and after installation.
However, I still gave them my order due solely to the "current customer" discount they offered. In contrast to their sales service, their install technicians Jorge Fernandez and Jose were polite, professional, punctual, prompt and knowledgeable. They did a thorough job and left the area clean.

I've been really please with Frymire since we had them install a new unit last summer. When we knew it was time to replace one of our systems, we did a lot of price shopping. They were the lowest price for the system we wanted, and their installers were prompt, quick, and cleaned up after themselves.
We just had our second service call under our maintenance contract. Both technicians have been professional as well. Juan, our technician from today, did a great job and tested everything thoroughly. He gave me a choice on replacing a capacitor that wasn't performing up to snuff, but no pressure. He was also cautious about working around our pets as well, which means a lot to me. Highly recommend Frymire and Juan!

I could not be more happy with the price and service that I received with Frymire on the new A/C (air handler and condenser unit) I had installed in my home yesterday. First and foremost the sales rep Tony Mendes was one of the most helpful, polite and thorough A/C folks that I had come through my home, and trust me, I got a lot of estimates and saw a lot of people! Tony treated me like my family was special and truly provided me with confidence in the company. One thing that he did was to check my breaker box to make sure I had the proper wiring for the unit that he was going to give me an estimate on (only one other company did that and I had to ask them to after Tony came). My home was built in 1978 and had the original air handler so quite a few things have changed with city codes and with technological updates. Tony was concerned that my home had the wrong wire size for the new equipment. Obviously I was not happy to hear that I might have to run new wire from the breaker box. Tony gave me the estimate and it wasn't the lowest bid but it was the lowest bid for better equipment. He left my home and and said he would ask if one the Frymire electricians (they usually only handle commercial jobs) could come out and take a look at the box. A few days later the electricians came out on one of the days it was snowy and icy (impressed they kept the appointment). The electricians said that my wiring was fine and I was good to go with the equipment so I set up my install date with Tony. My time frame for install was 8- 10 and I received a phone call from the tech at 8 to tell me they were ten minutes away. Ten minutes later Jorge Fernandez and another technician named Jose showed up on my doorstep. Both were clean and professionally dressed and I invited them in. One of the things that I read about was that one of the most important thing about air conditioners was that the units are properly installed and when Jorge walked me through the process of the installation I was confident that it would be. The guys were very considerate of me and my 17 month old son that I had at home with me that day. His room was (of course) right next to where Jose was working on the inside. At nap time he started crying and Jose told me that if I wanted to put him down that he would be really quiet. I put him down for a nap and he slept for an hour and a half with work being done right outside his door! Later that day Gary Van Kirk The change out manager came out to check on the install. He looked it over and asked the guys a few questions and made sure things were going well. He chatted with me for a few minutes and again made me feel special and that my home and my business were important to him. The guys finished up the work, checked everything out, cleaned up and went over everything that they had done. It looked and worked great! The last person I spoke with was a rep from the office named Diana Galvan. She was courteous as she took my payment and offered to email me a receipt and she did immediately. If you need A/C service I highly recommend Frymire.

Their service is awesome, but initially I felt their pricing was a bit high. Based on my sewer line blockage, the tech felt necessary to do a camera as he was seeing the line was draining slowly...which usually costs more money but did as a service for me to see what was going on. Sure enough, our sewer line in collapsing All I see is $$$$ ahead of me, so we'll see what they quote to fix.

We recently bought an older home and knew the HVAC was going to need replacing soon but one evening our furnace went on the fritz. We called at 6pm and they had a tech out within the hour. Bad news was the repair was going to be expensive so we we quickly got a quote to replace the entire system. They offered great terms and were about to install the system the next day (on an icy Saturday). Good thing too as temps have been below freezing for several days.
The crew was fast, efficient and took great care to keep the place neat and get everything working perfectly. Our new system is working great and much quieter than the old one. They really came though for us. We will be using Frymire for our HVAC (and plumbing) needs going forward.
