Have used this company a number of times over the last nine years for both HVAC and plumbing. Never again! I always thought their service was only average at best and always thought there charges were a bit on the high side. Recent experience on both the HVAC and the plumbing side have driven that home for me. A recent failure with a water heater in my attic had them out to take a look and provide a quote on replacing both my tanks. Based on my taking a look at what replacement water heaters cost and allowing for what I figured would be a reasonable fee for install, I was guesstimating a total quote of around $3,000. I nearly fell over when Frymire quoted over $6,000 and when my service plan discount was applied, it was still going to be well over $5,000. I decided to get a few other quotes from local plumbing services. Their quotes ranged from $3,200 to $2,550 for the same work. Already had the work completed by local group. I may take a cruise or something with the money I saved!!

Bye Bye Frymire!!!

Frymire replaced kitchen sink disposal.
Common 1/2 Hp unit Badger-5.
My fault, I should have asked before having them come.
I just assumed a good company would have a fair price, I was wrong.
Price was far too high - $505 total.
Normally I rate them 5-star, but this was a problem for me.
Also, they do not have a break-down of charges.
So, easy or hard installation, same price.
I normally do not write reviews, but I just felt bad about this price.
Afterward I contacted Lowe's and the installed Badger-5 price was $200+Tax.
Lowe's is not Frymire quality, but that is too big a difference.
Frymire is great for A/C, but check the plumbing price.

My tale of two capacitors. Capacitor #1 came from a hvac company hired by a home warranty company (nuff said?). That company sent guys every weekday for two weeks before they figured out I needed a new capacitor and made my HVAC function. Capacitor #2 came from Frymire a few years later. One call, an appointment a few hours later, and an hour to diagnose the problem, replace the capacitor, and make my hvac function again. Courteous and nice guy, too. I'll take Frymire over a home warranty HVAC company any day.

I would recommend passing on doing business with this company and going elsewhere. Frymire is not respectful in the least bit of its customers time.

I had an appointment scheduled in the afternoon on Monday. This was an appointment I had booked two weeks prior. Late afternoon on Monday I called to confirm the appointment as I had not recieved any sort of confirmation after scheduling and we were waiting at home. Their company representative confirmed and said we would receive a call when a technician is on his or her way and that they work until the evening hours. We waited until 8pm with no word. I called again and the customer representative stated the technician allegedly called but there was no answer and there was no one home when he or she came by. However, we had someone home all day and available to answer the door at all times. In fact, my mom did not leave home all day waiting for the technician - a waste of her day off. I also recieved no missed calls despite the fact I called them hours prior. The customer service rep apologized, but couldn't reschedule to the next day despite it being their fault. I understand things happen and it's a busy time of the year so I accepted a reschedule to Saturday.

Again, we waited home all afternoon. I called again to confirm and a Frymire rep. told me I'd recieve a call back. We recieved a call back to have the rep. cancel the appointment and offer to reschedule, again. Wasting another day we could have given our business elsewhere and two people's day off waiting for Frymire. To conclude, please consider another company to schedule your business with. Practices like this by Frymire will remain until it loses substantial business. Apologies don't mean much when you can't back it up with action. Frymire is a huge disappointment.

I cannot say enough about the quality and care of service provided by this company. With each visit the technician is friendly, knowledgeable and customer service oriented. I would highly recommend for other homeowners. Their maintenance service plans are reasonably priced and well worth the money.

Frymire always does a great job. Today, Ramon, Abel and Misael did a wonderful job getting our HVAC system ready for "winter" (do we really have winter here in Texas?). They arrived on time, worked efficiently, and kept me informed about what was going on.

2 stars because the problem was fixed, but the service charge was outrageous and the tech seemed dishonest (although he was very polite). EXTREMELY high service charges for simple repairs (think 150$/hr, and they may work slow). I also never received a paper or electronic copy of my invoice. I have a little handwritten note that the tech gave me with the invoice number, my address, and the price. The correct charge is on my credit card statement.

The last day I was staying in a house, the hot water heater had a leak that tripped the emergency shutoff valve. As the house was owned by some relatives, I felt obligated to repair the problem. I called frymire because they were the people that installed the new water heater 3 years ago (used by someone else living in house previously), and I subsequently noted that they seemed to have a decent rating on yelp and google plus. The company tells me they have a 90 dollar service charge if I refuse repairs.

The tech shows up in the afternoon as I was told he would on the same day I called for service. Note that I did not ask for same day service, just whenever they could come. He looks at my water heater, and finds some water slowly dripping near a faucet at the base of the unit. He tells me its probably the valve/faucet that needs to be replaced, but that it could still be a tank leak further up. I point out that the tank, has a 6 year tank warranty if that is the case, but he tries to minimize that. He's going to try the faucet first, and tells me it would likely be around 250$. Not being totally familiar yet with how much work is involved, and knowing I already would have to shell out 90$ if I refused (meaning if the next guy didn't quote for less than 160 I would be losing money and would likely break even at best), I said go ahead.

He unhooks the water line up top. Drains the unit (in my garage, first floor, drags a hose out to the garden and connects to water heater), and changes the faucet head. When he first starts on it with a wrench, he comments that it's loose. Doesn't offer to try tightening it. He states that it must have come from the factory that way. Total time there, including the time after everything is completely fixed and he is sitting in his truck for 5-10 minutes working on the invoice is ~1.5 hours. And let me be clear that he seemed to be working slow and making a lot of conversation. During some of that conversation, he tells me how I'm lucky as some other techs would just tell me there is a tank leak and I need a new water heater. Anyways, the leak was from the faucet and the new faucet that is appropriately tight has fixed it. He brings me a tablet for signing and payment. The pseudo-itemized invoice showed the part to be 22.50 (and you know they upcharged it) and labor as the rest. That meant that I payed ~225$ for his (maximum, keep in mind he was somewhat slow) 1.5 hours of possibly unnecessary labor. I expected a repair as simple as this to be like 180$ maximum, even if they were charging high service rates. Shame on them. He wants me to take his card for future business. I took it for the trash can. I guess I'm lucky his degree of dishonesty is less than the other techs he was mentioning. Maybe the guys that fix A/Cs are better, or maybe it's luck of the draw with the techs... there are a lot of positive reviews as well. Just know that you are throwing the dice.

Don't bother contacting frymire. They are not in business for new customers. After talking to them about a broken HVAC the lady called back to confirm the time for a tech coming out and instead said "Sorry we decided we aren't taking on any new customers for the summer time since we are too busy". Great business model not to accept new customers prior to showing up especially after scheduling an appointment with them.
