My hot water heater started leaking on a Sunday. Unfortunately I didn't have time to call around for referrals and ended up calling Capital Plumbing. They sent someone out and told me I needed a new hot water heater and they could replace it the next day on Monday, and someone would be calling me with an estimate, which never happened. While they were replacing the hot water heater, they also completely disconnected my heater and hauled it out to the front of my house so I could, ""see in the sunlight"", why it needed to be replaced, which I already knew it did. They said they would not re-install it which left me without a heater for several days. When I asked what the price was for the hot water heater, I was shocked to hear it was $2,600, they then proceeded to tell me that they would replace both the hot water heater and heater for $6,500, which I said no to. Taking my heater out while they were here was just a desperate scam to get more money out of me. They had told me they would haul away the heater they removed but after calling every day for three days, I finally put a bright red worded sign on it saying, 'Warning. Do not ever use Capital Plumbing!', because they never hauled it away. I'm sure they were waiting for me to say I was going to buy a heater from them also. It's worth mentioning that the hot water heater was some off-brand that nobody's ever heard of and doesn't supply enough hot water for a 15 minute shower.

When Mechanical Control Solutions out of Albuquerque came on Tuesday to give me an estimate on a new heater, they were shocked to find that Capital had left a vent uncapped that was where the carbon monoxide comes out every time the hot water heater comes on, which he said was obviously very dangerous. I left a message with Capital's answering service and someone came by within the hour and put some sort of an adhesive cap on it which ended up partially melting off from the heat going thru the vent. The technician from Mechanical Control Solutions mentioned it to his supervisor who was so concerned about it he told him to come back and put a cap on it even though they were out of Albuquerque, but it had already been done in an obvious panic by Capital. While MCS was replacing my heater, a City code inspector came to inspect the hot water heater and he was quick to fail Capital on the inspection. I suspected he had done that several times before. I also posted this on the Nextdoor forum and got at least 5 or 6 replies about the shoddy, incompetent work Capital does. I was also made aware that they lost their BBB accreditation. I posted a complaint on their BBB page that will stay up for 3 years. Mechanical Control Solutions is the most professional, knowledgeable service company I've ever used, and they are much cheaper than any of the goons in Santa Fe whether for plumbing, electrical or HVAC. DO NOT EVER USE CAPITAL PLUMBING IN SANTA FE!! The should have their business and contractor's licenses pulled due to deceit and shoddy work!!

.needed help with water leaking at 1/2 gallon per hour. "" scheduled me for a
repair person couple of hours that was at 9:00 am never showed up ,never called .
The guy who took my called was rude . I called at 4:00 PM .Left message to just tell me the truth today ,tomorrow? Never got a call back that day. So business is good so just lie to folks. This is not my experience in the past. I am going to see if the owner is aware of this to give him or her the opportunity to fix this. We are in arid south west , Santa Fe New Mexico and they don't care

Avoid. Several years ago they installed a furnace/AC unit and I had all kinds of problems for years, and their prices were high. I came to find out they wired my furnace/AC unit incorrectly to my thermostat. I spent years of no AC/ and cold/hot areas of my house and I spent much on trying to figure out my problem.
