James G. Frew Sr. apprenticed at J.M. Kissock & Son in Bellevue, PA. Mr. Kissock received his license on March 31, 1898, from the Plumbing Examining Board of Allegheny City, PA. Once he fulfilled the necessary criteria, James G. Frew earned his title as a Practical Plumber. He remained with Mr. Kissock. In 1925, my grandfather took over the plumbing business from Mr. Kissock and named it Frew. He kept the business running at the Kissock address.

In 1953, James G. Frew Jr. joined the family business and acquired his uncle's plumbing company, Taylor Plumbing. James G. Frew Jr. had three uncles who were plumbers among his four maternal uncles. From 1953 to 1960, he ran his business on Gorard Avenue, then moved to 546 California Avenue.

I, James M. Frew, started my apprenticeship with my father in 1969. By 1974, I obtained both my PA State and County Journeyman's licenses. I secured my Master Plumber License in 1975. I assumed control of the business in 1989.
