Please think twice before giving them any kind of deposit. We had two plumbing projects we got quotes on. One involved replacing a pipe under the sink, and they quoted $275. The worker said it would take about 15 minutes. I told him my husband would just take care of it. The other project involved a broken hot water line. We got the quote which was right at $1000 and they wanted a 50% deposit, which I provided. After my husband and I discussed it, we decided we would put that money toward the bathroom renovation we had been considering. I called the office and told them they could come fix the pipe under the sink but we didn't need the repair done on the hot water line. A different guy came back a few days later and said he would have to put a different kind of pipe in than the first guy had told me, but said it would still only take 15 minutes and wouldn't be any more involved. He went to his van and then called me. He said his boss told him it would be $650 but that he would give me a break and just take the $500 we had already paid. I told him to forget it. They charged us $225 for coming out and doing nothing. I don't mind paying for people's time, but I felt that was unreasonable. What was even more disturbing was a job going from $275 to $650 that would still only take 15 minutes. I called another plumber and he had it fixed that afternoon and it took him 10 minutes to do it. He charged $80. I can't recommend this company.
Tyler lives across the street from me. After a long day of work he made an emergency trip to my house after a pipe busted. The valve was broken at the main but he called the city and had them there in no time to turn it off. Not just a master plumber but also a good neighbor. Very fast, very reliable.
I have had a lot of work done with this company. Everything they have done has leaked. They installed a garbage disposal and the piping leaking. Then they wanted to charge me another $375.oo to snap in another one. I would recommend not using this company.
They were to move a hose bibb. They gave me a quote of $625. They came out and spent about 3 hours and could not find the underground water line. They capped the line where to hose bibb was located originally. This was about $1.50 in supplies. They charged me $450. I could have done the job myself if I knew they didn't know how to locate an underground water line. If you want a job done right at a reasonable price, find someone else.
Jeff H.Being relatively new to the Harriman area we didn't know who to call that we could trust to do a fair and competent job someone we know through work recommended Frenia's and we couldn't be more pleased. They came in diagnosed our water heater issue, gave us an estimate, once we approved it they had the heater replaced within 2 hours. All of this took course of a morning. Friendly polite staff,Zach was extremely courteous and left zero mess behind. We'll use them again in the future.
I would choose another company for plumbing problems. We had a water leak from the water meter to our house. Called this company, they came out and fixed the problem but left a mess in our front yard. We had to hire someone to level our yard so the yard can be mowed. Rocks were thrown all over the yard and a trench was left right down the middle of the yard.
Had to pay an additional $225 to fix something that should have been fixed the first time when we paid $600. They were only 3 hours late to return to do the repair but at least its done. Don't recommend unless you request the owner himself, unless you want to be underserved and overcharged
Unfortunately, I cannot give a great rating to this company. Although they were prompt and friendly, I was disappointed with the service. The ad, through Yelp, advertised a free estimate as does his business card. When the plumber arrived, I showed him the problem, a very small drip from the stem of the shutoff valve to the whole house. While talking to me about the repair and what it would entail, he took a wrench and in 10 seconds, turned the faucet a quarter turn or less and stopped the leak. This, of course, was not a repair and we were given an estimate to replace the cutoff valve. There were other companies that we wanted to compare prices with, so did not have the repair done at that time. When the plumber was preparing to leave, we were presented with a bill for $202.50 which he explained was his minimum hourly charge ($225.00 minus a 10% discount). We were not advised of this charge before they came, so I certainly don't consider this a ""free estimate"".
