Way too expensive a quote without even looking and pushing the brand they sell , did job myself , had it checked not 1 leak gas or water

My wife and I 2 years ago remodeled our bathrooms with the master bathroom receiving a rainfall style shower head with a diverter wand. The shower pressure in that bathroom has always been low but over time we perceived it as getting worse.

We called around looking for plumbers who would be willing to take a look and determine if there was an equipment issue or if we needed any work to fix it. Most plumbers in the area were both really backed up and asking for $300 plus just to take a look at the problem. Through a friend we received a recommendation for Freitas plumbing and called, to his credit he responded quickly and worked with us to find a time he could come out.

Going into the shower they quickly determined the problem as sediment within the cartridge system. He then went on to find the part for me to order and told me to order it. He said after it arrived they would install it for another $125 and they would just charge me $100 cash for the diagnostic. This seemed reasonable so I ordered the part from the link he sent and promised to call them to install it.

As they were walking out we got to talking about insta hot solutions and I mentioned we would be really interested in adding insta hot to our tankless. He called the owner and told him the model of the tankless the owner confirmed the insta hot was compatible with our tankless heater and said they had everything in stock so they could come out and install it at the same time they did the cartridge install with everything coming out to $900 with an expectation of 3 - 4 hours of labor. The tech emphasized that this would be the cash only price but if we were willing to pay in cash then they could do it at that price.

Fast forward to today we received the cartridge, my wife calls the owner to schedule the insta hot and cartridge install. He initially tells my wife that it is $950 for the insta hot install and that it would take a two hours she said we were quoted $900. He said he did recall that but also remembered we need the cartridge installed so it would actually be $900 + $125 = $1025. He also stated that they didn't have the parts in stock at the time. When asked about the cost discrepancy the owner got frustrated and suggested we work with another plumber.

I had no problem with paying the follow-up install fee, I felt the $125 was reasonable. Your tech was the one who recommended I order the part saying it would arrive quicker cost wasn't even a factor.

My issue is that we were quoted one price then my wife called you said something different. Your tech quoted 3 - 4 hours to do the instant hot. Told me you would accept $100 off if we paid $900 cash. My wife called, you quoted 2 hours with an additional $125 to install the cartridge.

The question isn't the value or fairness of the cost just discrepancy of the quote and your attitude when we asked for clarification. Before you hung up I said we could go forward with it. Your prices are reasonable but your field and back office communication is lacking. In the future if someone says they are busy instead of pressuring a decision just let them call back. In the end you lost our business not because of cost but your attitude.

Conclusion:

Post this review the owner contacted me privately and explained the miscommunication the price. I appreciate his willingness to discuss the issue and have revised the review to reflect as such. For what it is worth I would recommend Freitas Plumbing and Water Heaters. They offer solid value for the cost miscommunications aside.

Best and fast service! Kai and Anthony got here on time yesterday afternoon and worked on replacing our water heater. They were friendly and knowledgeable and explained everything clearly. Responds quickly on yelp and was able to provide a quote for changing a garbage disposal unit. When the project was actually a lower cost, they offered to give me back some money. I appreciate the honesty. The project was very time efficient and they finished quickly and made sure everything worked well before leaving. Also has a 1 year warranty on the new garbage disposal unit.

Gus answered the phone and told me he would be able to send 2 of his crew out to my house for my propane line leak(s). Anthony and his partner arrived within the time frame Gus stated. The 2 plumbers looked eager and identified themselves with a smile. I informed them of the issue and they got straight to work. They located the leaks in the line quickly and they even went underneath the house and located a propane leak in the main line also. They spoke to Gus and informed me of the cost and were eager to get the job done, 630 pm in the evening. They repaired the leak under the house within 45 minutes. For being at the end of the work day, Anthony and his partner looked like they could work another 4 hours......They were friendly with everyone they came in contact with at my home, wife, grandkids, mom and my sons.....Gus you have two good kids working for you. Thank you Freitas Plumbing for squeezing me into your schedule in the afternoon........AND i did not see any plumbers crack

Fast response and reasonable pricing. They were able to accommodate our service request to replace a leaky water heater that happened over the weekend. They responded to my yelp request and was able to book first thing Monday morning.

The team showed up on time and were ready to get to work. They quickly replaced the water heater bringing it up to code. They did a great job in cleaning up after the job was completed. Job well done

Water heater went out in a rental of mine. This was a scope over my head, so I yelped for help. Found Freitas Plumbing, and I'm really glad I did! Called them up, and Guy told me he could meet me at the house within a few hours. He even let me know when he was about 30-minutes out, which I really appreciated. After he scoped out the situation, we discussed pricing, and he let me know he could take care of the job the following morning. Since it's occupied, that was all I needed to hear. He was there the following morning at 8:30am, and had the whole job done by 11:30am. Hot water restored just like that. Guy and his team did an excellent job, and they were great to work with! HIGHLY recommend Freitas Plumbing to anyone in need. You will not be disappointed.

OH MY GOSH, FREITAS PLUMBING and WATER HEATER COMPANY IS AMAZING!!!
My first email I had was with Gabriel, the owner. Very very nice on email, and I'm sure he's nice in person. Two days later, we had Anthony and Kai to come to our home, They were phenomenal! I can't believe what incredible people work for Freitas Plumbing Water Heater. Anthony and Kai installed 3 toilets, The toilets were completed in a little under two hours. Anthony and Kai both picked up all of their mess, which wasn't very much at all, hauled off the old toilets boxes they came in and any debris that was here from the job. The new toilets work genuinely perfect! I think if you need a job, large or small, Freitas Plumbing and Water Heater Company is the ticket. Anthony and Kai were so professional little joking here and there it was awesome I feel like family was in my house!!!
