Price gouging:
1. They charge a minimum of 1.5 hours for each gas appliance they service.
2. They charge for the time the technician is talking to his office on the phone about another customer's emergency.
3. They gave me a Pre-buy price of $3.49 per gallon and I am now paying $2.09 per gallon at a competitor company.
4. Four years after installing my underground gas line, I was told it failed. I had to dig up my property and pay thousands to install the new one.

I called to schedule an appointment for my furnace, which was purchased and installed by Fred's, to be cleaned and serviced. After giving my service address, I was told that they did not provide service to anyone who doesn't purchase their products. I explained that although I do not purchase my fuel from them, my furnace was purchased and installed by them. I was then told that they showed me as a customer of another company, so I needed to call them for service. I became angry for I am not going to argue, in order to get service. Personally, I would NOT recommend this business.

Very professional and wonderful team to deal with! Very knowledgeable, and they take pride in their work. Nice to know they are licensed and insured, too. Helped me turn an old junky storage closet into a beautiful sleek new bathroom. Thank you!

We have used Fred's for about two years now. We have found their customer service and field service to be excellent.
On a very cold sub sub zero night our furnace went down. we called Fred's emergency line and were told someone would call back in 15 minutes. the call was timely, thorough and knowledgeable. within an hour a service person showed up. He told us that with the very cold night the emergency person was flooded and he was trying to help him out. he worked on the furnace and said his truck did not have all the parts necessary but thought he could get us thru the night. About 11PM our phone rang and it was the designated emergency service person. He wanted to check on our furnace. He said he would feel better if he came now in the middle of the night. He worked until after 1AM in the morning and then waited to make sure the furnace cycled properly. All the time smiling and happy to explain what he was doing.
All future interactions with their plumbing or heating department have been equally satisfactory. We are happy to recommend Fred's to anyone

Had 2 large heater installs in Alpine Haven. Eric Maxwell and Thad went above and beyond making sure we were completely satisfied with everything. I see some bad reviews; they must not have used those guys. Awesome work!

Cheeky owner with zero customer service skills.

Do yourself a favor and take your business to someone that cares. The owner felt no need to maintain me as a customer when asked to stand behind the work of his technician. Even I know copper tubing should not be kinked through a floor. It eventually breaks, but that was my fault. I moved my stove in 17 years.... I didn't kink the pipe through the floor but I am supposed to pay for it. Negative stars here. We are looking forward to working with a company that cares.

Absolutely horrible customer service. I was never left a bill for a delivery in October that I was unaware of. They waited to send an invoice till January, then stopped my automatic delivery because the payment was two months late. My landlord has also had to have a service person in weekly because of water in the fuel. Do yourself a favor and find another fuel company.

I woke up to find my furnace had died. My house was 50 degrees. I called Fred's emergency line at 5:37 AM and was told someone would call me back immediately, but to call back if I did not hear from anyone. After no return call for 45 minutes, I called the emergency line again. They paged someone a second time. After waiting another 30 minutes for the ""emergency"" person to call me I called a third time and reached the office, where I was told I had to fill out an online application for service. I said that I was happy to do so, but since my home was freezing cold and I was worried about pipes freezing, could we please start two processes at once. They said no. They told me the reason that I didn't get a call back from the ""emergency"" person was because I do not have an account there. So, I guess they just don't bother to tell you that or call back. So, now, two hours later I am no further along with heating than I was before, thanks to Fred's Energy of Morrisville, VT. Thanks, Fred's. Cold house and cold shoulder.
