I had an issue with a leaky faucet and saw that Fred and Son had great reviews. Called them up three different times and the answering machine picked up all three times. I left them three messages to call me back and they didn't even bother contacting me. I guess they don't want my business. Poor customer service!!

I needed a plumber to replace my outside faucet, so I consulted Yelp. Fred & Son was so highly rated that I immediately called them. I'm glad I did. They got right back to me and set up an appointment for the following Saturday morning. Fred himself showed up right on time, diagnosed the situation, explained the options, and provided costs for each one. He patiently answered all my questions. He was very careful about not tracking dirt into the house. A very affable man, we discussed family, jobs, foreign politics, and other plumbing issues while he worked with precision and efficiency. You can tell he's a real pro who has seen it all. I'm convinced his price was more than fair, a lot lower than I'm sure one of the big plumbing companies would have charged. I give Fred & Son my highest rating. He didn't seem to be aware of his high Yelp ratings, so I couldn't resist showing them to him.

After recently moving to Rockville, we had a clog in our kitchen sink resulting in standing water. I found Fred and Son on Yelp and put a call in to them and another plumbing service that received five-star Yelp reviews.

Fred and Son called back within minutes and someone explained that Fred himself was out on a job, but would be available between 9 and 10 the next morning to come to our home. I never heard back from the other service I called, but Fred showed up right on time the next day. He covered his shoes to keep my home neat, then came in and listened to my explanation. He did a walk through of the home to see where all the plumbing was and explained to me what he thought the problem was (a clog deep in the line) and how much it would cost to fix. He quickly and cheerfully did the repair, pleasantly explaining to me what he was doing and why. He also gave me information about the plumbing in our neighborhood, where he works frequently.

When the repair was finished (48+ feet of plumber's snake down our very clogged line!) Fred showed me a part that was cracked under our sink and gave me a price to replace it with something that would work better. He did that quickly, and then the final bill was less than originally quoted as Fred gave a first-time customer discount.

Just over a week later, we noticed a leak in another part of the house. I contacted Fred and again he got back to me within minutes and came over the same day to diagnose the problem (a pinhole leak which would require a large section of aging pipe to be replaced) and give us an estimate. The following day was a Saturday, but when we called on Saturday morning and said we'd like to go ahead with the repair, Fred shocked us by telling us he was on a job but would be over as soon as he finished. He showed up with his helper Oscar at around 3pm and finished the job around 6 at the price quoted. He was polite, professional, and left our home neat and clean. The repair looks good, and while we are annoyed to have so many plumbing issues in our ""new"" (1950s-era) home, we're at least glad we have a reliable plumber!

I used the reviews here to make a call and ask for plumbing service. Three calls with voicemail each time, providing clear info on project, and call number, but they never called back.

Just had Fred here for the second time in about 6 months. Again, he diagnosed the problem quickly, explained what he needed to do, gave me a price before he started work, and covered the floors to prevent damaging them. He worked quickly and cleaned everything up afterwards. He also told me what to watch for in the future. I will definitely use him again.

I don't usually write reviews, but I was impressed with Fred (perhaps because Spartan Plumbing kept me waiting for 5 hours the day before) but Fred is a good plumber and a nice person. He arrived 15 min early and was polite, nice, etc. I would call him again if needed. I always trust in Yelp and this reaffirms my belief.

Fred & Son definitely deserves a five star rating. I've had him here twice to fix two separate problems. Each time he quickly determined the issue, walked us through what it would take to fix the issue and promptly provided a quality fix. Good & fair prices, prompt response time and great customer service.

Definitely would recommend Fred for any plumbing job.

I had a blockage in my home sewage system. I called in Fred. He came on the same day and exact time we set. He put on plastic covers over his shoes before entering the house, covered the hardwood floor to the bathroom in the first floor and he also covered the walls and floor of the bathroom to protect them. He identified the site of the blockage, solved the problem very efficiently and quickly. Fred is a very nice gentleman and an efficient professional.
He accepted to reduce the price to a very reasonable one.
I am very pleased to work with him and would recommend him confidently to solve plumbing problems in your house or business site if you need such service.
