My parents have been using this company for years. They just spent thousands of dollars with them. Everyone we usually come into contact with is very nice and goes above and beyond for us. My 72 year old mother walked into the office the other day and was greeted with a snide comment about her wearing a mask. This is rude and so unprofessional!! She didn't make a federal case over the fact that not 1 person in the office WASN'T wearing a mask. We definitely won't be referring any more friends and will probably take our business elsewhere.

The first time we turned on our A/C this season, it wasn't blowing cold. Our house would only cools down to 82 degrees. We waited 4 days for another company to come out and look at it. They ran a diagnostic and said we needed a new unit. We called Fed Hill Mechanical after a referral from a previous client. They came out 3 days later and Larry diagnosed and fixed the issue in 2 hours. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of our family's 70 degree hearts!

Their website boasts about their ability to ""maintain, and repair all commercial refrigeration systems"" including ""Reach-in cases and Walk in Refrigerators and Freezers"". I called with a service request for a commercial reach-in refrigerator. After waiting for a call back for over 4 hours, I was told 'they are not able to even look at the appliance and they don't service commercial equipment or appliances'.

We no longer will continue using Fred Hill Mechanical. Their maintenance program failed to keep on top of the maintenance needs of our H/AC. In addition simple faucet washer repair was was beyond reason when it came to cost. I no longer find them reliable and would not recommend them to anyone.

I started calling plumbing services off Angie's List the day after Christmas (Monday) because we didn't get the keys until 3pm on the Friday before. We had new appliances we couldn't use until we had gas for the dryer and the water line valve replaced for the fridge. After spending a week in a hotel because of a botched close on our front end, we were really desperate to get some basic life activities going. I have to love how hard the dispatcher (Mr. Hill?) worked to try to make it happen. Ultimately he got a plumber out that afternoon to evaluate the job, with a promise to have him out first thing the next day. Carlos Rodrigues was enthusiastic, full of options, and very knowledgeable... all qualities I love in a plumber. We discussed various options and although he didn't do the crawl under the house that afternoon, he did the next day and made a number of suggestions based on what he saw. He was there for about four hours, had a second plumber over to assist for a few hours and the job ran just under $800. Not terrible for the work involved, and I feel confident it will serve this house for years to come. Since I'm not familiar with service providers in this area, I can't judge local pricing. However, even if these guys are not the cheapest, but I'll take thorough, cheerful, careful, and qualified over cheap every day. Nice work guys!

The staff was very helpful and found my part really fast I would recommend them to all dyi people out there home Depot didn't have my part in stock said I could order it but would have to wait a week when news said 103 tomorrow I had to get ac fixed today so googled ac parts in Modesto and found these guys thank goodness ac works now and kids and wife will stay cool thanks for good service

I would NOT not recommend getting a quote or even doing business with Fred Hill Mechanical in Modesto! WOW! A nightmare just trying to get a quote

Scenario - I am looking to replace my AC package unit on my roof. I want to get some bids.

Call Fred Hill - Vince is who I speak to. Tells me they are 2 weeks out on coming to just give me an estimate. I tell him ok no problem. He then tells me ""I can squeeze you in tomorrow to have someone come and ""assess your situation"" for $79. Whatever they do to service the AC will be an extra charge"" (this was earlier this week)

After I tell this dude I just want to get the estimate (he didn't seem happy). He tells me he will call me on Wednesday with a date his estimator could come out.
Before we hang up he asks ""And you said you already have other estimates?"" (Hmmmm )

I just now get the call. Guy tells me July 6th is soonest to get an estimate and work couldn't be started till July 26th. I tell him I still want the estimate. I ask him if he could do a pre call the day before to remind me because I do travel a lot and need someone here.

His reply: ""We do a pre call the morning of when we are on our way. You need to write down a reminder (with an attitude) because we don't call the day before""

Me: ""Just cancel it - I don't want to do business with you guys"" (hang up)

If it's THIS much if a pain in the ass to get an estimate, I don't want to know what it's like for those that use these guys.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME CALLING THESE GUYS!!!

This is the best plumbing company ever! They are so honest and work quickly and efficiently! I want to give praise to Greg who helped us get our shower working after another plumbing company messed it up! He only charged us 1/5 of what the other company did and did it in half the time! Thank you Hill plumbing for your exceptional service! And thank you Greg for being so professional and kind!!!

These guys are great! Very professional, nice and communicative. The consistency over the last few years is what I'm impressed with most! I would highly recommend them anytime!!
