Our kitchen sink only has one drain, which is connected to the garbage disposal. We were experiencing water backup issues that would only resolve when the disposal was running. I decided to disassemble the pipes myself and found no visible clogs. When the technician from Frank Gay arrived, he suggested that over time, grease and debris could accumulate in the pipes under the house and mentioned snaking them would resolve the issue. I expressed my doubt, mentioning that the house was only 5 years old, and there couldn't be enough buildup in the 1-inch pipes to cause such problems. I also emphasized that the garbage disposal only drained when turned on, indicating that the issue might be with the disposal itself. However, the technician quoted a price of $535 for snaking the pipes, which I complained about but ultimately agreed to since I couldn't do it myself due to the length of the pipes. During the snaking process and cleanup, the technical was overselling the snaking process, which ultimately didn't do anything to alleviate the problem. It was later determined that the disposal needed to be replaced. The technician then proposed an additional charge of $100 for the replacement. I was frustrated, considering the fact that their initial assessment was entirely wrong. I should have followed my instincts and purchased a $125 disposal from Home Depot and installed it myself. Eventually, the technician installed a new disposal and reduced the charge to $489, which I still consider an exorbitant amount for a problem I diagnosed, and then they left without attaching my dishwasher pipe to the disposal. I want to share my experience with others who may not be as knowledgeable in this field: Frank Gay WILL OVERCHARGE YOU for their services. I don't mind paying for a service, but to hire experts in this field and you're expecting them to diagnose the problem first, and they're not able to do it, and then I'm overcharged is unacceptable. If someone from Frank Gay wants to discuss this, please provide me a Name and a direct number to discuss further. Don't leave a message to call us, and then I'm stuck in your phone tree on hold for 45 minutes - that's not attending to the problem. UPDATE: 5/24 - Frank Gay's representative called me today, and we discussed what happened with their services. I reiterated that the technician was doing his job, but disagreed with their service fees, so they offered to refund $100 within 15 days of signing an official document and updating my post, which I'm doing. I appreciate them following up and trying to make things right.

They overcharge way too much. I told them no after they quoted me $700 to unclog a toilet. No thanks. I had to pay $39 for nothing. Rip off.

Used this company 2x, Should've learned from the first time. Had an issue with my Water heater. Unit was installed 2018, I was told by the tech thay they couldn't do maintenance on the unit and it will have to be replaced. Anything over 4 years, they won't do an maintenance. So I was given 2 quotes. Both very expensive. For me to buy unit and they replace and do work and other for them to bring their own and install. I decided to call another company. Issue was a faulty wire going into unit. This is why a small maintenance check won't hurt... sorry but definitely saved a little less then $2k. Never again...

Would be a zero review if that was possible, this company took advantage of my Mother. Will not finish repair with out all money owed. First she had to replace water heater charged $2200 if we got our own water heater. Secondly that wasn't even the reason there is a water leak. Charged an additional 7800( first half of amount) busted opened concrete block in wall and concrete floor both areas are small 1'by 2' . After inspection call repeatedly to have wall and floor repaired 6 weeks later received an email stating to fix holes it would be an additional $948, we had to move washer and dryer back first time we use water is leaking from same spot, called Frank Gay company they stated they couldn't even send someone to look at it without additional $7800, yes that's a total so far over 17,000, and yes I think they are taking advantage of my elderly Mother

My toilet and bathtub started backing up on a Sunday night at 9pm. I called Frank Gay Services and they picked up immediately and scheduled an appointment for me the next day. The technician Keith was there at 8:30 AM and stayed for most of the day, ensuring that the clog was fixed before he left. There was more work than what I imagined, however Keith was professional, friendly, courteous, and extremely efficient. He had to dig up the front yard and when it was done, there was no evidence of any kind. I will recommend Frank Gay Services to everyone I meet.

Additional details to my original review after I was contacted by a service representative to """"buy my silence"""" : After seeing our water bill double, we called out Frank Gay plumbing to determine if we had a water leak. We were charged $129 for them to come out on a Sunday. After digging two 12"""" deep holes, the technician determined that there was leak in the main water service and the leak was under the public side walk. He said it would be a major job to repair and they would have to send a """"crew """" and equipment out on Monday to take care of it. His estimate to replace the main water line from the meter to the house was $4,179 and they would guarantee the work for 1 year. In addition, they would discount the cost 10% if we signed up for a one year service plan. Since we didn't need the entire water line replaced, we asked for the cost to just fix the leak under the sidewalk, he quoted us $2,223 for a """"Level 5 Re-pipe and repair-including plumbing services"""" (that sounds major) but that work would not be guaranteed and again they would give us a !0% discount if we signed up for their HVAC/Plumbing Service contract. The charge to dig the two holes and find the leak on Sunday was $250. We accepted the cost estimate for the repair, assuming there would be a major """"Level 5 re-pipe and repair. The same technician returned on Monday and was able to """"Jet"""" under the sidewalk in order to install a new 6 to 8 foot section of 1/2"""" PVC pipe about 12-18"""" deep. Service took under two hours. Having been involved in estimating plumbing cost for 35 years, I can say I never felt as ripped off as I feel now. Over $1,000 per hour for a fairly simple repair. In addition, I'm shocked by what seems to be very deceptive business practices by such a large organization. #1- No guarantee unless we have the entire water line replaced. #2- Discount only if you sign up for a 1 year """"Service Agreement"""" #3 - Poorly described and exaggerated scope of work on the cost estimate (""""Level 5- re-pipe and repair"""" ?) #4 - The customer representative reached out to me regarding my previous review. As I understood her, she offered me a $223 refund if I would sign a """"satisfied customer service document"""" and if I remove my review comments"""" You can't buy my silence for $223. I hope others take my advice and avoid this company like the plague.

They were called out on a Sunday to investigate a leaking water line. $129 just to show up. Dug two holes to find the source of the leak. $256. Returned on Monday and replaced 8 feet of PVC with two fittings in two hours. $2,200! That's $1,000 an hour for one technician. OUTRAGEOUS!

total rip off..... I have a Rinnai tankless hot water heater. the teck was on time and very professional. we went outside to the heater and he explained it would cost $270.00 to open the cover to see what was wrong. I agreed and signed work order. upon opening cover it was obvious the board had received a power surge and would need to be replaced. it was at that time he informed me that they do not have any relationships with rinnai and i should contact a Rinnai dealer and purchase the board and they would come back and install for around $600.00 . I then asked him why would you have me pay you 270.00 when you knew you could not complete the job. His answer was simple. It is the new company policy.$$$$$

In need of plumbing services? Buyer beware! I recently sought estimates for a simple plumbing job - running a water line across a 30' garage to a new outdoor hose bib. I got the following three estimates: 1. Mike Scott Plumbing $350 (no estimate fee) 2. Anthony Torri Plumbing $325 (no estimate fee) 3. Frank Gay Services $2158 ($38 estimate fee) After two calls to Frank Gay Services, seeking to speak to a manager and being promised a callback, I finally got through to a customer service person who said that they would refund my $38 estimate fee if I signed an agreement to keep my dissatisfaction silent. The form required me to not """"post or author any detrimental reviews, blogs, etc. regarding the Company, in any form, whether written or oral."""" My silence cannot be purchased for $38. I am a new homeowner in The Villages. The majority of service companies that I have dealt with have been upstanding and a pleasure to do business with, however, when I find a company that exploits and takes advantage of unsuspecting homeowners, I want to share my experience and help others avoid making a bad decision.

f. g. prices are insane. one can crack up laughing. other companies charge much, much less/lesssss for installing a tankless water heater. f. g. prices are inflated!! ** joke is on you, budd.
