I had sump pump issues and the plumbers at CroppMetcalfe actually tried to convince me I needed to pay $786 for their consultation and to replace the entire system. Thankfully I remembered I had appliance warranty. I called the them instead and they connected me with Franconia Plumming. Who came out and showed us what was wrong and they fixed it immediately, free of charge. What was wrong? The black float was in the wrong position...the plumber simply moved it to the proper placement.

Also, the technical knowledge, patience and customer service of the woman I worked with to schedule my appointment was out of this world. She called a few times to get more info and troubleshoot some things prior to my appointment.

Since we didn't know what the issue was, maybe the two CroppMetcalfe plumbers didn't know either. Makes you wonder why they were there for a sump pump call at all...Oh and that Cropp visit costed me $86.95 to almost be ripped off. Thank you Franconia for being honest and extremely helpful.

Franconia has helped me fix a leak that was going on for over 1 week. I first used another company thorugh my home warranty- they came out- saw the leak coming out of the drywall ceiling- went upstairs- saw there was condensation ont he AC unit- said it was an AC problem- collected deductible and left. Didn't even cut into my drywall! I called AC guy out- paid $$- told it was not AC problem- plumbing problem.
Called home warranty company again begging for another conpany to come out- I did not want to use the first company that totally failed. Then I spoke to Sandra from Franconia. She does have an accent which may be hard ot understand- and I was so frustrated with the events up to date I thought I was going to flip out- but Sandra was so nice and really tried to meet my scheduling needs. She is fantastic.
Plumber came out 2 days later... very nice guy with a good attitude. He looked into the ceiling (I cut the hole myself to let air through in fear of mold)- checked out the AC unit area- and said it was the condensor drain and that it needed to be snaked. He said it was not covered by the warranty- but I didn't care at that point- I just wanted it fixed! I said do whatever needs to be done- I'll pay with a credit card. He snaked it and left- saying the issue was fixed! Fingers are crossed... but that there is a real plumber folks!

My sump pump was acting up. Sandra, the office manager was very prompt and polite. First she gave me a couple of things I could try and when the issue happened again, she got a tech scheduled for a visit the next day. Chris was fantastic! He answered many of my questions including why plumbers are so expensive. You read these reviews and people seem to be paying more than seems reasonable. Franconia Plumbing is not going to rip you off because they are not commission driven and they will do their best to provide you with an estimate over the phone to begin with. Because my sump pump was at least 10 years old, we decided that it was best to replace it. Chris didn't take any money for the diagnostic visit and instead I paid for the job when the replacement was made. Same great reliable sump pump, made in the USA. Who am I calling next time I need a plumber? Without a doubt, Franconia Plumbing.

We had a leak in a galvanized pipe that was in a very difficult/tight location (surrounded by water pipes, electrical wires, joists). The plumber from Franconia Plumbing made this difficult job look easy. He cut the pipe in two locations and put on a new fitting. It looks really good, very neat (I was surprised) and most importantly, we can use our upstairs bathroom sink again. The plumber was courteous, informative, and cleaned up thoroughly after he was finished with the job. We are going to have Franconia Plumbing come back out to do some other plumbing work because we were so impressed. Finally, we have a plumber we can depend on.

I was assigned Franconia Plumbing through my HMS home warranty. They were able to come out the next morning and fix the issues. Technician was timely and efficient. The second time we had to use our home warranty just one month later for another pipe issue, I requested them again and once again they were timely in making and appt and showed up on time and did good work. Would definitely use again, professional staff and easy to schedule they buck the stereotype of home warranty assigned professionals.

I will not recommend Franconia Plumbing to anyone and share my recent experience.

Cross Country Home Services (Total Protect) assigned Toilet Tank leak and under-sink garbage disposer repair task to this outfit who insisted that the sink had rusted and will have to be replaced (that was not covered, and at a considerable expense) before replacing the operational but faulty Garbage disposer (Full account is given to CCHS, who should also maintain all recordings with us as well as the plumber). I knew that there was absolutely no issue with the sink and stated so. The flange of the garbage disposer has rusted and fused to the old disposer neck causing some work to remove the disposer. The only thing I could conclude here is that the crew that this outfit sent was of highly questionable ethics or grossly incompetent. Further proof of this was that the task of fixing the Toilet Tank leak was not done with any competency and the CCHS was called again to have the outfit make return service call to fix it.
Since CCHS would not assign the job to another plumber, I hired another contractor who gave a clean sheet to the existing sink, expertly removed the faulty disposer and replaced with a new disposer. While it cost me some money but no where near that required under Franconia Plumbing assessment.

I have an HMS warranty and used it when two of my sinks had a slow drip. I was refered to these guys who not only didn't get the job done once but also FAILED when called back again. They don't seem to know what they're doing, they argue with each other and worse of all argued with me. The worst customer service skills I've seen demonstrated in a long time. I feel like they robbed me because i'm still left with the same problem as what I started with.

They arrived on time, were courteous, explained the solutions, and charged me a fair price. If I had to rate these guys versus Michaels and Sons there is no comparison. While our work was not done under any home warranty, it was done in a timely way, professionally, and with courtesy and respect for our house and that alone is worth a premium.

Wow..not sure if I can put into orders how incompetent, rude, and evasive these guys are. Yes they do show up on time and are quick to give you an appointment, but make no mistake if you schedule them through a Home insurance company they will treat you like you dont matter and cater to the insurance company's needs. In my case, they couldnt identify the leaking problem in my house and they became frustrated, demanded that I still pay them for visiting, and then lied to the home insurance company about the problem....and then proceeded to slam my front door on the way out. Please do yourself a favor and stay away from Franconia Plumbing....there are much better and cheaper plumbers available.
