2+ years ago, FPL Jupiter-Tequesta urged me to purchase a Daiken AC unit when mine had expired, emphasizing the 12 year warrenty on parts and labor. Last month, a major part failed and needed to be replaced. The worker said they had been having trouble with this part, that it had to be ordered, and in the meantime he needed to fill the current unit with freon to hopefully get me enough cooling until replacement could be achieved. Cost: $624. What, I asked, was the high cost for? Response was: To cover the freon and, get this, to order and receive the replacement part. Installation would be covered under labor. Therefore, when they said parts were covered, they failed to inform me that a relatively high charge will require payment to order and ship it! Even on a part not 3 years old. I am deeply disappointed in this company and will look elsewhere for AC service, while still holding them to their contractual obligations regarding the Daiken AC I bought.

I had an electrical issue with my outside lights and was assigned FPL Home services through my HomeServe policy. Got a same day appointment, Neil, the electrician, arrived on time and ready to get to work. He put my mind at ease and said he'd take care of the problem and he did. He worked hard for over an hour outside and when he was done everything was working great. Neil and his excellent work ethic and skills made what was otherwise a bad day into a good one. Excellent service by an excellent person.

I enrolled in the FPL Watershield program. What a nightmare. The device does not work properly and I cannot find anyone at FPL Home Services to talk to. I am caught between FPL Home Services, the plumber, and Moen. Purchase at your own risk.

We just cancelled FPL Home Services. We initially had good experiences with them last year. But when we requested a plumber at the beginning of this week, FPL Home Services failed to respond effectively. We were promised a call by their service provider within 2 days. After 4 days and no response, I called the claim department and was informed that their in network plumber was unavailable. Only one in network plumber in the Sarasota-Bradenton area? Really?

Bought whole house generator from them. Probably overpaid by few thousand dollars. A few months after installation a faulty regulator installed by them allowed 450 gallons of propane to leak into the air. Cost us almost $1800 to replace. FPL Home Services denies any responsibility. Refuses to reimburse us for the leaked propane and has the nerve to say it's our fault we should have spotted the leaking gas. Their even billing us for the faulty regulator. Contract for any services with them at your own risk

Horrible service - Stay away. Will do all they can not to do repair(s) or deny your claim. Technician was incredibly inept and incompetent. Customer support rep's very nice but have no ability to resolve issues as their direction is to deny, deny, deny.

Gave written estimate for plumbing work, I accepted, scheduled. Day of appt, I was told couldn't do all things on estimate as estimator had promised work...that couldn't be done.... AND low-balled it!!! ME-O.K. just do what you can...FPLHS-...""""we won't charge you the other stuff"""". (ME-No kidding) End of day, I owed exactly $675 for work completed, per contract. They gave me a 'new' contract/invoice for over $1800!! Said was for """"extra work""""!! I told him we had a contract already, I never approved this 'new' one. He got nasty. I paid after failing to calm worker down...get them OUT OF MY HOUSE. ..and fight later. Long fight (2 months) later, FLORIDA ATTORNEY GENERAL'S office had to step in TWICE to get my refund. And FPLHS lied to THEM (& ME) about the refund THE FIRST TIME...............................BUT NOT THE 2nd. Apparently they're petty AND dishonest!!! These guys are grifters...and not good at THAT either.

They lie at every turn. Service tech said we'd need a new condenser coil on our 3.5 year old AC they installed. It was under warranty so I'd only have to pay for the service call, prepay the warranty repair fee and top up of refrigerant to keep the unit working until the part arrived in 1-2 weeks. That was just under $600. Here I am 10 days later and the part has no ETA. The unit stopped functioning all together after 5 days from the initial service call. I have called in 4 times, each call was promised a call back in a """"little bit"""" with an update (no one ever called me). I was ecstatic after my second call where they confirmed they had tracking information showing the part would arrive in 2 days. I called the morning the part was to be delivered and said I would need emergency weekend service for the install and to let the scheduling team know to call me ASAP. As I had not heard anything by 4:30 I had to call back again to find out that there was no ETA on my replacement part and they had no idea what I was talking about (lesson learned- record conversations when talking to them because they are REALLY comfortable with lying). My last call they offered to have a manager call me in 24-48 hours. I clarified that is actually business hours, so I might get a call as early as Monday. We shall see. In the meantime I'll be sitting in my 92 degree house as I as I work from home and am unable to log into the required VPN from any other location. BTW the reason we got a new unit installed in the first place 3.5 years ago was b/c they assured me that it was a brand they had a close relationship with and that parts were typically on hand or had very short order times which would minimize downtime if anything were to go wrong. Additionally the manufacturer offered a 12 year warranty to make it a worry free machine.

FPLHS (Florida Juno/Riviera/WPB) estimated kitchen plumbing job. All appliances were on-site, 10 ft wall was clear so he could see how/where project would work. After an hour of detailed discussion, he produced an email estimate of 7 'tasks' @ $225 each ('discount' calculated). I made the appointment that day. When plumbers showed up, much discussion ensued regarding the job; i.e. what couldn't be done-4 tasks!!! They contacted the office (in their truck). Came back and insured that I would not pay for what they didn't do. (Of course). The lead plumber told me later that estimator """"seriously underbid this""""...awkward cause he was the lead's assistant. They completed 3 tasks=$675. When done, he produced a 'new invoice' that charged me $1000 MORE (!!!) He said for 'additional work and labor'. He became agitated when I objected. I'm female and live alone so I finally paid...to fight another day. Spent 5 hours over 4 days talking to CS, Maggie Clairvoyant. 'Here's $200 for your issues'. NO. BBB complaint-same response. Contacted Attorney General's office (several consumer divisions). Received response quickly AND my $1000 refund in total. AG's office was terrific. And breach of contract is 1st year law school (and E-Z to read Florida Statutes). FPLHS sent a dismissive, patronizing letter (""""Final Response"""") to BBB and AG characterizing job site as missing components and me 'not' understanding the 'issues'...in-person, on MY jobsite! I wrote 1 additional, carefully edited (just the facts-MY version had not changed) response to their continual false narrative and requested it to be included in their files. I sent a copy to the local FPLHS, THEIR masters (FPL), AG, BBB, and Next Era Energy (FPL ownership). 1) I would NOT be 'taxed'/penalized for their poor training and hiring practices regarding the estimator. 2) They had 4 days to review the estimate before work started. Further, they were informed that A.M. by phone to the 'issues'. Even FURTHER, they have a Term & Condition (#15) on our (the ONLY) estimate/contract that allowed them to end/cease/withdraw all work and obligation FOR ANY REASON. 3) They did none of that. Instead of admitting a mistake and earnestly trying to rectify and appease (and retain) a good-faith client........ FPLHS decided to attempt to shake me down like a grifter in a parking lot. They lost. But not before they tried Gaslighting 101. Amateurish and weak bullying. Changing the narrative, never addressing the facts, talking in circles. Don't get emo, stick to timeline and facts, and do the math for them...meaning their 'discounts' at the end of their estimates are NOT-just factor it in yourself, they won't 'show' their 'work'...for a reason. BTW, despite the verbiage in their ads, they ARE owned by FPL, who is owned by NEXT ERA ENERGY, a 60 billion $ corporation. THINK TWICE BEFORE HIRING THESE GUYS. Or just don't.

I've had AC service done by FPL in the past, & continually has a new service member each time. It's a rotating door at this company. Last week, the service rep told me I had mold issues in my A/C and the coils were rotting. He told me he could get a replacement unit for $6800, but I would have to """"sign the contract"""" that day, otherwise he couldn't guarantee the price. I told him it's a lot of money & needed to do research. He was a bit annoyed & claimed he would be very concerned about this problem & should be addressed ASAP. I felt extremely pressured & uncomfortable. Needless to say, I have 2 blue UV lights that should be eliminating mold spores, if any. I contacted 2 A/C companies later that day & inspected my unit. Both said I had one of the cleanest units, and there was NO evidence of mold! I called FPL this AM to advise them of their service technician's misinformation, only to find out that the manager would not return my call, & instead, had that same technician that was at my home last week call me. He basically said the other 2 companies didn't know what they were talking about, & seemed upset because I called to report him. You definitely do NOT want to do business with FPL AC. You will not get honest answers - they're only there to sell their products with a significant mark-up!
