Louis L.just signed up with these guys, had my service done by a friendly and knowledgeable tech, he had the answer to all my questions and showed me how it was done as we talked. I was impressed, and after he left I realized that the furnace was quieter than it has been in a long time, Bonus !!
L T.Sadly we were having issues with our hot water and reach out for assistance. After charging us $140 to get the furnace running again they came back and told us they needed to order a part. The phone call came in said it was a $1500 estimate to replace a part on the furnace. Upon calling another company the part was replaced including service for $257.
Be sure whatever company you were calling for actually sells the furnace that you are getting repaired. I would avoid this company as they could've said week are on able to repair your furnace rather than replace parts that did not need replacing.
another satisfied visit from the friendly techs at fox. the technician went over the service and my burner hasn't worked so efficiently and quiet. the office is really good at communicating . why go anyplace else!!!!!
Horrible company to deal with. Had them in 2015 when we put the addition on to our house. Owner came out in Sept and said yes no problem to the job. December he still had not come back or answered our repeated calls. I finally went to his office where he looked at me and said "" your annoying me get out of my office "" Sure did leave and got a new company. Too bad too because the oil delivery guy was great. Then he calls me in Aug and says you have not had your furnace cleaned yet ...... you can imagine what I said to him.
Steve C.Great service. I have just renewed my service contract with Fox, and the burner service was performed today. The technician was thorough, professional and friendly. After the service was performed, he went over what work was done, as well as telling me anout the overall performance and condition of my system.
This was my 3rd experience with Fox, and all have been excellent.
I am a person who is naturally skeptical and does a lot of research on both the product and the service company. Just before a major holiday, I went to the basement to find water all over the floor coming from my boiler (36 years old). I called the oil company who we contract service with and they came out and said they couldn't do anything to stop it. This began our hunt for a new furnace.
We had 3 companies come out to give us various quotes on a variety of products, one being something we had never heard of (System 2000). The seller of this unit (someone other than Fox) boasted about it's capabilities in saving money. Given this was a sales person, I was naturally skeptical and my wife was convinced he was just trying to sell us an expensive piece of junk.
This set us off on research on what this thing was. I stumbled upon Fox Heating while researching other installers and called and was put through to the owner, Mark Fox. I started the conversation saying we intended to hire another company, but were hoping for some honest information on this system. He spent a while on the call, and as my wife wasn't with me, agreed to take a second call from my wife to answer her questions. Shortly after the conversation with my wife, she contacted me and said she was comfortable with the product. I felt that I should give Mark a chance, and contacted him to invite him over to look our situation. I checked out YELP and saw the 4 ratings, but as stated before, as said, I am a skeptical person and generally feel that people are more likely to post negative rating than positive ones. I know a few people in the industry (commercial installers, that's why we didn't work with them) and began to call around receiving all very positive feedback from these individuals about Mark and Fox Heating. We contacted one of the companies we received a quote from to let them know we were not using them. They asked who we were going with, and when we told him we were using Fox, he stated that he was happy to hear we chose someone who was going to take care of us.
Our furnace continued to leak and given the need to finance, we had to let this process play out. Mark sent over one of his service people who spent 5 hours on a Saturday working to stem the leak, which he was able to do. We were never charged for this service.
His installers showed up as scheduled. They were friendly, didn't seem to mind that I kept looking over their shoulders, and continuously let me know their progress. When completed, they took me through how the furnace operates and answered all our questions. Fox guaranteed their work and the furnace for 3 years (full parts and labor covered as well as yearly maintenance), which was 2 years more than the other seller of the System 2000. (System 2000 has a limited lifetime warranty)
So far my wife and I have been very impressed. I will look to update this review periodically regarding the operation of the System 2000 and any service needs from Fox.
Horrible customer service. Mark, the manager, is extremely unprofessional and condescending to customers. There was clearly a break in communication between customer and on-call technician during the recent frigid temperatures. When the 24-7 emergency line was contacted for support after a pipe burst causing loss of water and heat, I was told it was not an emergency and that the necessary supplies were not in the technicians truck. I was told that the temperatures were raising and my pipe could be repaired in the morning. When I contacted the manager to discus my contract and the incident I was informed that they do not offer 24-7 plumbing services despite offering plumbing on their website and brochure. Perhaps the technician should have mentioned this service was not available in the off hours rather than stating the necessary tools were not in his truck or perhaps mention that he was also not a plumber. The manager, Mark displayed the worst customer service I have ever experienced especially when he stated I never mentioned I didn't have heat to the technician. When I pleaded to him that I even questioned the technician how was a burst pipe resulting in loss of heat and water not an emergency. Mark recommended I talk directly to the technician. What exactly would that accomplish? Any decent manager would offer their apologies for the miscommunication and quickly reconcile the problem, not offer up their valued employee to the line of fire. It is disheartening as a once loyal customer to be treated poorly by such a poorly managed business. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
Greg A.When I was building my house some years ago they came out to give me an estimate on a heating system. I gave them my blueprint s so they could do a heat loss calculation. They never got around to doing my estimate, when I called them back up Mark asked me who was doing my ac work, told him I'm not sure yet. He tells me if he doesn't get the ac job he won't do my heating job. I tell him I'll choose who I want to do my work,I won't be pressured into anything. I ask the receptionist to please mail my prints back, she says Mark told her no.
I drive all the the way up to stafford to confront Mark and tell him what an a hole he is and get my prints but he's to scared to come out of his office
Receptionist has me my prints and I leave
Seriously don't do business with this arrogant ass
Finally I can attempt to write a review after all these months. This past winter our furnace stopped running, was about 58 degrees in the house when we noticed. The system was only 12 years old and installed by Fox when we built our home in 2003. Our regular HVAC contractor could not get the part to the system so we had to call Fox for the repair call, much to our dismay.
The repairman came out, (he was very polite) and started evaluating the problem. Did I mention it was very cold this particular weekend? The repairman summons me down to the basement to inform me that his boss is pulling him off the job because ""someone in your house gave us a bad review on Yelp."" I asked if Mr. Fox was willing to give up the very high rate of OT we were paying for the call just to make his point. Of course, the repairman was caught in the middle. He packed up his tools and left. He, unlike his boss, was polite and professional. Too bad he was the one who had to give us the bad news. Mr. Fox couldn't even tell me personally.
Needless to say, I was shocked to think that Mr. Fox would be this vengeful. What if we had elderly individuals or infants in the home? It was disappointing.
The good news.....we went back to our regular HVAC contractor and he saved the day! Mr. Fox, you lost out.
I have never had better service on my oil burner!! I had my boiler cleaned last week while trying this company. The tech called and told me when he would be by, and they were very nice and asked if I had any issues or questions before they started. I watched what they were doing as I always do, they did more work than any company I have ever had and in a more timely manor. They did their best to clean off their boots even with all the snow and sand. They tested the burner cleaned it off so my boiler looked almost new. I saw that the man even used wax on the boiler! I have NEVER seen another company do that before. I had a few questions about what was being done, and the tech went over everything so I could understand and told me any other helpful information I may need in the future based on my questions. I learned a lot at this service. The tech went over all the test numbers and what they meant as well. At the time the tech told me I should get antifreeze in my boiler based on the fact I burn wood primarily. I didn't even know that was an option! I have had a lot of frozen pipes and the other companies never told me about antifreeze as an option, must have wanted to make the extra money every time it froze. I to my own peril did not listen to the recommendation. I had been having trouble with heat not working because of the cold, and it was -25 f with the wind chill on Friday not only did it freeze but I could see a few places where the pipes had split. I called Fox Heating at about 2:30 AM. Even though I could tell I woke the technician up out of bed he was still very helpful and courteous. About an hour later two techs showed up at my house. They thawed my pipes with a machine, fixed the splits, and the tech went over what temperatures I should keep my thermostat at when it gets cold (again) or to add antifreeze .I am setting up an appointment on Monday to have them add the antifreeze so I don't have to worry about my pipes. But I have never had a company go out of their way to make me feel like they actually cared about more than just getting in, out , and just doing enough... They went above and beyond both times to help me and answer any questions I had beyond my expectations. I would recommend Fox Heating as one of the best companies in their field!! I have read a couple reviews on this site both positive and negative. I am glad I read the good and the bad then formed my own opinion!!! If not I would still be paying for burst pipe calls and my boiler would look all dusty and drab and wouldn't be running as well as it should. I saw the changes he made and what it did to not only the efficiency of the boiler on his test tool, but he even went as far as to show me how it changed with the actual flame in the boiler. Don't listen to the negative posts, read them all and form your own opinion and give them a try!!! YOU WONT BE DISSAPOINTED!!
