Fortified Plumbing and Drain

Due to sewer line backup and belief that the end of the sewer line at the municipality was in need of repair I contacted Fortified Plumbing and Drain, as recommended by the sewer auger company who cleared the drain. The call was answered in the office by a professional named Jeff, who let me know, after checking himself, that he would be able to have someone over in approximately 90 minutes to check and see the scope and need for the work. Two individuals arrived and I addressed the information I was provided, and showed them the pictures and video. After walking the area, looking that the paint mark left by the sewer cleaner on the lawn, where the sewer issues was, a quote was provided and they let me know that if I called by 5 or 6pm they could get started the next day, with application online for the permits that evening and a call to have Miss Dig mark the utilities. I followed up approximately 1.5 hours later, based on the verbal modification to the quote, and authorized the work to start. Later that evening I saw permits had been approved online, and that Miss Dig had come and marked the utilities so they could dig. Approximately 7:30 AM the next morning a backhoe was delivered and approximately 9AM the crew of 4 arrived and began work with them removing the front chain link fence, as addressed. They assisted in removal of a small tree, that I had trimmed the branches off, and dug the necessary hole for the sewer line, approximately 45 feet long, 16 feet wide and between 9 and 7 feet deep. Over the next day and a half they installed the sewer line, ensuring the the water line, which was approximately 8-10 inches from the sewer line was not damaged. The second day and third day they backfilled the hole, assisted in removal of the tree limbs and raked the yard as level as possible, and trimmed down approximately a foot above the law the two cleanouts installed in the new sewer line. Then the swept the driveway and sidewalk where they had spilled/placed dirt. Later the final day they had the company that delivered the skid steer and backhoe pick those up and removed them. Very nice small town plumber who is not afraid of large jobs! I think it is great that the master plumbers have taken on young apprentices! Very good experience working with them!

I cannot recommend Fortified Plumbing as they were unable to fix our drain issue and failed to communicate with us. They were late to this appointment with no phone call (husband had to call to ask if they were still coming). They could not fix our issue with trying to snake the drain and did not offer any advice on how to fix the problem going forward. They charged us $50 to replace the elbow on our pvc pipe. Since no advice was offered and we already paid a great sum of money to this company, we had to call and talk to the owner about a plan going forward. They were supposed to come back out on a Friday. We waited at home the entire day for them but they did not show or call. We never heard from them again. They should have been up front with us if they did not think they could fix the issue or want our business. We called a different company and they were very professional and fixed the issue quickly.

The complete drain system in the crawl space under my house, built in 1951, needed to be replaced due to excessive clogging, years of corrosion, and one section broke open with a two foot gash. A health hazard occurred due to the busted section of pipe.
This occurred on the same day the power in the neighborhood was restored five days after the 2023 ice storm.
I live in Belleville and called Fortified because they are local to me and are familiar with the homes in the area.
Fortified sent Cameron and his crew to the house to evaluate what was needed for the repairs and got to work in the morning the next day. Cameron kept me appraised of what they were doing and how long it would take to complete the replacement of the entire drain system. The crew were extremely polite and respectful of my property. They worked together cooperatively and all were extremely knowledgeable of their profession.......and very good at explaining what they were doing in terms I could easily understand.
Cameron and his crew cleaned up all their work, took all the old cast iron so I didn't have to dump it, and left the area outside my home where they had their equipment exactly how it was before the start of the job. Cameron and his crew put in new drains for my sinks, bathtub, toilet, and washing machine that tied into the all new main drain line. Cameron and the crew went above and beyond my expectations!
Once the job was completed, my wife ran about four loads of clothes without any problems at all! The toilet flushes perfectly! The tub empties quickly!
There were issues with my insurance company, but Jeff at Fortified helped us work with them to recover our costs. Jeff also recommended a quality restoration company, United Water Restoration of Downriver, to clean up/disinfect the crawl space due to the sewage spillage from the break in the pipe.
After a week without power, then not being able to use the plumbing until it was repaired by Fortified Plumbing, it was a very stressful week. Fortified Plumbing got everything back to normal, and did it in an exceptionally professional manner.
Fortified Plumbing will always be my ""go to"" for any future plumbing issues I need resolved in my home....i do know I don't need to ever again worry about my drain system!!!

Fortified Plumbing and drains Came out to my house yesterday to check on my sub pump, because it was not working. The repair person said we needed a new sub pump. He installed a new suppump for $825.00.. The repair person went to plug it in and it didn't work. It didn't work because it was a electrical problem not the sub pump. Our house was built 3 years ago. I expressed my disappointment. The repair person indicated that the pump was over 20 years old. THE HOUSE WAS BUILT 3 YEARS AGO. I paid $825 for nothing. I do not recommend this company at all.

This is got to be the best on call plumber I have ever called. The gentleman Tyler went above and beyond when it came to helping us with our plumbing emergency. He kept us up to date on everything he was doing while he was doing it. Also he was very pleasant and polite and masked up the entire time. You could not ask for a better service and you could not ask for better employees then fortified plumbing and drain. Two thumbs up, five stars, and 10 plumbuses!

The day back from vacation, we needed to do some serious laundry. Well, the sewer system of our 40 year old house had other ideas. Aside from some mild water damage of our things, we still had a pool of sitting water around our drain. A reply was prompt, within 5 minutes, and the service was extremely friendly and professional. Although the initial estimate was lower than the final price, we acknowledge the issue of our sewer being so clogged was a bit more complicated than we knew. We will definitely call them again for any plumbing trouble!
