We needed a plumber to take a look at our bathroom sink and install a garbage disposal. I thought these were going to be relatively easy projects when he came, 1-2 hours, but it turned into 4. The garbage disposal we picked out didn't fit at first, but after several attempts he was able to install it without damaging our cabinets. The previous homeowner left the bathroom sink clogged but after snaking it, everything worked perfectly! The plumber was patient, kind, and kept me updated as he was facing roadblocks. I'm glad he didn't give up on the garbage disposal! We would definitely work with Ford again!

I'd say 3.5 stars, on average, but this most recent experience was fairly sour. Brian arrived to my house and fumbled around with, what I had explained, as a complicated fix. He then charged me an hourly rate of $125, despite no heads up that he had switched from a flat rate to an hourly, and included his trip to the store, watching glue dry, and fixing a part that dislodged while he was working on it as a part of his fee. Overall, disappointed and wouldn't ask them back. Owner, Steve, seems like a good guy, but made it clear that the higher rate was to cover his overhead, not for better service. You're better off going with a private contractor.

I called the company on Tuesday and talked to the rep about my problem. He said he would call me on Wednesday morning which he did and said he would come over in the early afternoon which he did with another rep.

I showed them the problem with my gas boiler in the basememt and they went right to work to fix it. the boiler had not been serviced for years, but that didn't prevent the two men from doing a great job.

I was really impressed and have already recommended them to a friend.

Their fee was more than reasonable and I'm looking forward to having a warm condo this winter.

We have used the services of Ford Plumbing - a family company now in its second generation - for almost 30 years, both at our home in Roslindale and then Newton MA. They have done everything from come at 3 am in the middle of winter to unfreeze pipes, to unclogging drains to (most recently) installing a new gas furnace and removing the old oil burner AND an antique oil tank. Steve Ford and his crew have been on the spot whenever we have needed them. (Steve's father - the original R.T. Ford)

Called for an estimate. They came out to do estimate. They said they would email me the estimate/quote. Never heard from them (that was more than a month ago). Two people came out for estimate. One of them said he was the owner but looked quite young. He didn't say anything and let the other guy do all the talking. I wondered if he was the owner why didn't he say anything the whole entire 45 minutes they were at my house. Strange.
