I purchased a Trane package unit from Air Control in 2011. The first issue I had was every time we get freezing rain or more than a dusting of snow the fan freezes up and quits turning. I then have to set the thermostat to emergency heat and wait for the temperature outside to get warm enough to melt the snow or ice from the fan.
The next problem is that it is now giving off a funky smell. I am told this is called ""dirty sock syndrome"" and is common with these units. The first service man said he had cleaned the coil and sprayed it with something and he hoped that would help, but he didn't think it would. He charged me $217. Within a few days, the smell came back. Service man #2 sprayed more stuff, but admitted that there was not much they could do to fix the problem. He said Trane would furnish a new coil and Air Control would charge $600 labor to install it.
I think Air Control should have been up front with me when I called and told me I would be wasting my money for a service call as they couldn't fix it.
I have found it is not hard to stop a Trane!

Don't waste your time. Used to be good when the father worked on but now that younger generation has taken over a lot of the service work. Rude hateful and lies to you about repairs. One guy wrote f u on my receipt when I questioned him.

I called and had Chris come give me a estimate for new air n furnace for a rental property I have he saved me like 600 dollars for a complete system very good job that his crew did for me I will b using this company again very professional

I called to make an appointment on Wednesday and they said they could schedule service for Friday to have my AC unit worked on. The gentleman I spoke with gave me a lengthy description of what steps would be taken to find out what might be wrong with my AC. He stated that they would have a tech out between 8-12 on Friday. I called around 11:20am today to see when the tech might arrive. A very rude woman told me they had no record of my calling and making an appointment. I have my call record which shows I made the call to the same # she answered on Wednesday. Be sure to take down the name of the person you talk to there if you schedule work with them. They obviously can't keep track of appointments and their customer service is deplorable. I will never do business with them in the future.

Scheduled their annual tune-up special and they had our downstairs & upstairs vastly improved in about 30 minutes. Technician took time to make a courtesy call when he was running behind. Appreciate the service!

Ron from Air Control came out to our house to give us an estimate for a new downstairs hvac system. He was the third of the quotes that had been given to us. Ron did an inspection and gave us the best and fairest quote of all the companies who came out to the house.
He gave us exactly what he said they would and their techs were professional and helpful. When my upstairs unit goes bad- Air Control will be the one I call.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I had a hot water tank replaced and the plumber didn't attach the vent. We could have died from carbon monoxide poisoning. The only reason we caught it was the hot water tank didn't pass inspection. We had to have another company come out to tell us what was wrong with the installation and why it didn't pass inspection. Airco does not know what they are doing.

I like the way you make appointment online. It makes process much faster.

I will not use them again. Got the wrong diagnosis in a winter tune up. And ended up paying $500 for warranty work. And went without heat for a week cause of it.

Beware...one of the service guys went up into my attic to do a repair on my AC switch and stepped on and broke the AC condensation pipe. Never mentioned it to me that he did it or even heard a crack. A few months later, the water accumulated in my attic from the leaking pipe and my ceiling fell out with insulation, drywall, water everywhere. Could have killed me! Leaked so long the walls also had to be replaced due to mold. They won't take responsibility even though I have the pipe with the guys footprint on it! I'm out the cost of repairing the pipe and insurance $1,000 deductible PLUS my homeowners insurance went up $800 a year! Don't use them, ever!
