Contacted with Flohawks for a service call to be done on Monday, the 21st of November. Service tech was scheduled to arrive between 1-5 pm. When they hadn't arrived by 3 pm, I called just to get an update & perhaps a more accurate arrival time. I was told that the tech had one more call, a lunch break, and then I was next. Dispatch called back a couple of hours later, and I was again told that I was next. Then around 6:15 pm I received yet another call from dispatch with the same story as before.....I was next, the tech was delayed on another call.....yada.....yada.....yada, and did I want to wait for another (undetermined amount of time) for the tech to maybe finally show? Well....if they hadn't made it out from 1 pm-6pm, why would I believe they'd make it from 6 pm - 1 am, and I'd already been waiting all day. When I called today to discuss what happened, I was informed that ""I had canceled the service call."" I guess thats how they list it when they don't show and the customer finally gives up. No......I didn't cancel, I simply finally gave up after repeatedly being told I was next & no one showing up. The fact that the dispatcher listed it this way to cover the fact that they failed to meet their obligations tells me everything I need to know about this company, and it should tell you the same thing.

If you enjoy paying $200 an hour and having your parts marked up 700% then this is the company for you! They charged $140 for the $20 valve that goes behind the shower fitting, $240 just to come out and an extra $200 an hour for the work.
One extra star because the plumbers were good.

Men...you might want to take a powder...this review is for the ladies trying to find a reputable plumber. Oh. Wait...that might preclude the misguided pre-Neanderthals who work at this business?
Setting: a few years back, a sub-Code, flipper-special mid-century tract house in Lacey. A gusher suddenly started under bathroom sink.
Specifically: the 1/2""d. copper, cold water stub, where it connects to the shutoff valve. The valve should be clamped/pressed or soldered onto the (copper) pipe stub. That junction failed.
Fairly clear info, right? Anyone could look under their sinks to locate the same, without much confusion.
Not the valve itself; just the connection between the valve & the incoming water pipe feeding it. The valve cannot control that. No amount of any guy's testosterone-driven directives, assumptions, or expletives into my ear, not even any magic wrench, will make that valve shut off the flood when that leak happens.
Had to turn off water supply at the Mains (street connect valve), because most houses lack a whole-house shutoff valve in the house--which most plumbers actively avoid discussing, much less installing.
It was afternoon on a Saturday--about THE WORST time anyone could call for emergency repairs...guaranteed, repairs done on weekend emergency call-outs will be Very costly.
We have ALWAYS been high-level-DIYers, out of sell-defense. But age & infirmity took over our lives; we now must hire most work done...& finding an amazing number of astonishingly bad contractors of all kinds...just Try sifting through those, in an emergency?! I don't know; already been collecting lists of various ones for a couple years at this place. Wasn't enough.
Many women, as I do, handle family finances, bills, hiring, figuring out what needs done & how to fix it..among the long laundry list of everything else...for about the last 60 years...so..maybe just too new at it? IDK.
The last male-child who expressed surprise to see this gal doing mechanical repairs on a bicycle, was way back in about 1960--one would think that kind of astonishment was already a hysterical historical footnote...but nope....Not even close. It's still a curse on society, informing too many bad decisions.
Looked up close by ones, to reduce Potential mileage fees.
Avoided ones that used ""AAA"" or similar, in their name.
Started by calling FloHawks, since they are within 1 mile away....OY! That was a bad start.
The guy, given the specific, concise description (see above), responded before I even finished, with: ""must be the drain. Drains are almost always the problem"". Politely interrupted, saying, ""please listen! The description of plumbing tells exactly the problem!..."". ....aaaannnd...cue round 2 of ""of course it's the drain...."". Stopped again. And, 3 strikes, he's out, of his drain theory, of him failing to listen, & diverging into his assumed problem that wasn't.
At that point, I'd had enough.
I flat-out told him, ""ya'll must be having some bad communication troubles. Sounds like you just hijacked this emergency plumbing call into the land of misogyny, not once, but 3 times. Misogyny means you just condescended & ""mansplained"" to the Wrong person. We're done here. Your company does Not get this job, and the company gets a bad review.""
But of course, if you're a guy...ya'll have a fun time running up the bill clocking time talking about ballgames, or whatever.
And these guys weren't the only, that weekend (also bad review on RotoRooter..that was the last straw).
Ended up fixing it ourselves, because ALL those 24 hr. plumbers called that afternoon/evening, were either 1) unavailable, 2) incompetent, 3) gave gouging price estimates, and/or 4) gave ridiculous excuses why they couldn't properly sweat-on a new valve.
We tried a few different valves, without them attaching right. Then got desperate (& smart??) enough to use a metal plumbing epoxy (under $10 @ Homedepot)--and, as of now, 3 years later...still holding fine. Just followed the directions, making sure to fine-sand the pipe & valve ends, & cleaning them, before gluing.
No pink toy tools in this household; this Lady uses real tools, & plenty of them, even some new ones--and fears no dirt.
Gauntlet officially thrown down: a challenge to all contractors to stop acting like misogynistic knuckle-draggers, & start actually doing a decent business. Plumbers, like any other service/support industry, cannot afford to assume you will get enough business just because folks are desperate.
Consumers still, even in many emergencies, must shop around!

I called these guys on a Saturday around noon when my shower would not turn off, basically having no idea what was going on I panicked and looked for the easiest plumber I could get out here, I must've called about ten other plumbers who were all surprisingly out to lunch at the same time or something by the time I got to FloHawks. I told them my problem to which they responded with we'll get someone out there either late afternoon or early evening, they send me a text confirming the appointment. Wait around ALL day with no response until about 9:30 pm only to have them tell me it wouldn't be until Monday before they could get parts to fix my problem. Really? Then how is it I can go to Home Depot tomorrow morning an get the parts I need by 8 am? Which I ended up doing and fixing the problem myself with the help of YouTube. Lesson learned I guess, google can be your best friend even in the worst of situations.

It was time to get the septic tank pumped and we called FloHawks. I appreciate the quick response time. They actually called us the day of service to say that their guy was available sooner than expected and asked if he could come earlier than originally suggested. I was delighted as it freed up the rest of my day. They got right down to it. Since it had been 12 years since the septic had been pumped, and we are a small household that is careful with what we put into our septic system, he agreed with my husband that we didn't need to pump as often as usually suggested... every three to five years. Sure am grateful that there are people in the world willing to do this really dirty job! And the cost was right in line with what we had been told by others.

Flohawks came out to our house to change some pipping. The worker smelled like sewage real bad and he did not wear booties over his boots which I'm sure he has stepped in lots of sewage in his day by the looks of his boots. He didn't even ask about taking off his shoes even though he saw me take of my shoes, he just walked in like he had no worries about our carpets or floors.

I had a window of 8-12. Several calls later I canceled at 4:30 when they couldn't tell me when the tech would arrive. They didn't seem to care. I'm surprised they are still in business with such poor customer service.

A few weeks ago we were trouble shooting on a possible septic leak. My husband heard about a camera they can put in the line. He called FloHawks because our prior septic company ""Northwest Cascade"" merged and became FloHawk. Long story short, FloHawk caused us a ton of work on our part. They had us dig up both of our tanks (which did not need to be done) however they told us if we didn't they would charge us. When the first truck arrived, he didn't have a camera (even though that was what we requested) so we had to wait around for a second truck. That guy was careful not to get his shoes dirty, and stood around and talked on the phone for a long time. His camera failed to do its job and he eventually put dye in our tank. We could have done this ourselves! They charged us $750.00 for talking on the phone, standing around and putting dye in a tank and a failed piece of equipment. And there was no leak! Not that they care, when I called three days later they couldn't even remember who I was. So if you have a septic problem never call them! If I could give a negative star review I definitely would. One star is too good for them. They think they are hollywood in their fancy matching new trucks trimmed in solid gold.

Excellent response time with someone actually picking up the phone and offering same day septic service! This was my third septic company I called and they were the first to answer their phone. Amazing isn't it how some companies defeat themselves before they even get started.

Anyways I had a tech rep at my door within an hour of my phone call. With a little sleuthing we fixed my septic issue and that was that.

The tech rep was professional, knowledgeable, and personable.

In my opinion the final bill was a bit steep for a such a brief service call. Their likely are cheaper companies out there, if you can get them to answer their phone or return your calls....
