Flanders Burner Service
Company Overview
Plumbing, heating, and air conditioning services and installations. You can count on us for emergency services around the clock.
Initially, I worked as a sole proprietor until we incorporated in 2013 when my son joined the team.
My experience in the HVAC sector dates back to 1987, working across multiple companies in every phase of residential service and installation. In 1997, I founded Flanders Burner Service as a one-man operation, and we became incorporated in 2013 when my son came on board, who has proven to be a valuable asset.

Carl G.100% NOT SATISFIED per their advertising, I paid for yearly tune-ups on Oct 26th and work was done Nov 4th for maintenance on our two oil burners. Water and heater.
Same day they had to come back, no heat, they claimed vapor lock in oil line. So I guess at the very least if was not even checked to see if it was running. I was not there, we let them in, I can only see from cameras and Nest thermostat.
I live in California. So no one has been there for months. I can monitor the heat, but I could not monitor all the oil that was flying all over the place and into the ducts and insulation. It was a mess.
We arrive at the house to find it smelling of heating oil. I found oil all over the floor and called. They did send someone out. He told me the O-ring for the jet needed to be replaced. It had been blowing oil ALL winter long, ducts were full of oil. It was a mess. He came on Friday and told me someone will contact me on Monday. He said it would take a day to clean up all the oil and is not covered by maintenance agreement. NO one called me after that.
I ran to the store and bought bags of kitty littler. Picked up a lot but it was soaked in everywhere. I tried hot water and Landry soup and wet vacuum. I think at least 500 gallons over and over. By the 3rd day realize it was never going to be gone in any reasonable time. We were all having headaches from the fumes.
We decided to replace the whole unit with a propane burner. It was faster and we could replace the lower ducts and insulation that was soaked in oil. I am over heating oil. Cost us 14 thousand dollars but at least I know it's done right. We still have the oil water heater but I would never trust you guys to service that one. It is only a few years old.
I wrote them a letter, they said they did not know when it happened and it was our fault for not knowing sooner. In conclusion their service guy told me those O-rings go bad all the time, if that is the case why did they not replace it as part of the service. I would have never wrote this review, all I asked for was our service money back and an apology, I did not receive either one.
FBS did a good job replacing the tankless water heater. Their price was very competitive; they were very responsive; they followed up quickly when we reached out for an estimate; they came out within 48 hours to do the job; they performed the work and finished on time. All round definitely recommendable.
Poor customer service. it cost $1600 dollars for a damper and mother board change. Very expensive, it took 3 visits and 3 hours of labor for 60 minutes of work. Missed an appointment time and I waited for over 6 hours. Be very careful before using.
Stick to their word! Wonderful service! Friendly! Efficient and precise! We had an issue with our hot water heater and Al replaced the burner after servicing it with no issues! They are good people! Would recommend to anyone locally.
Al and Tim Lopez of Flanders Burner are the best around. They've serviced our Oil Burner for years now and have kept our old beater unit going strong long past it years. We LOVE our house and everything about it, but did not have Central A/C, so they installed it and did an amazing job. My wife has never been happier with the house, because she can cool the house in minutes just pushing a button (they gave us a new control panel too). And on 1/26/17, I woke up at 5 a.m. to the smell of Oil, and called Tim at 5:15 a.m. who was here by 6:20 a.m. fixing the problem. They are the best because they care, they're professional and they've done everything we've asked of them immediately. Al even delivered fuel oil last winter in a snow storm when we had run out - just because they're that rare kind of guys and Pros. Just this past week, 1/28/19, Al came to our house at 1:00 am to repair the burner that was acting twitchy and shutting off and then back on. After re-wiring all electric to the burner, reconecting and puttting on new nut caps, he suggested contacting PSE&G to check their Pole, Transformer, etc. And this most recent problem was exactly as Al told us. It was PSE&G's brand newly installed ""smart meter"" that was causing all the problems with the temperature panel. It was spiking and turning off the panel so that we lost heat, until it reset itself. Again, THANK YOU AL FOR ALL YOU DO FOR US. The BEST in the business because he knows everything, and because he cares about people.
We lost heat in frigid weather in the early morning on New Year's Day. Our messaged was returned promptly, and Al came over. We needed a new thermostat, and he had one in stock for an immediate replacement. Efficient, friendly service, and he did not price gouge us because of the holiday! We will definitely use Flanders Burner Service again.
