Recommended Customer Reviews

Let me preface my review by saying that I have always called Flaming's because they have been quick to respond, even though they are a bit on the expensive side...
I called Flaming's in late October 2016 to set up an appointment to have our furnace serviced. We had turned it on to ""take the chill out of the air"" on a cool evening and it was blowing cool air. I was told that they would put me on the list. I called back twice to make sure I was still on the service list and was told I was, they were just busy with other work. I finally called another heating and air company in town to get my heater running. I received a call from a technician with Flaming's yesterday (2/14/17) saying he had just received a work order to come look at my furnace. They must have thought that I sat there for 4 months freezing my buns off and being just fine with it.

Flaming's replaced the blower on my furnace. I authorized the work but asked for an estimate of the price of the part. The tech said, ""About $150."" First, they ordered the wrong part because the tech didn't realize that it was a two-stage furnace. Then, the second part they ordered cost $375 instead of the $150 that was estimated. They did not let me know before ordering that the part would be far more expensive than they had said. The tech later told me that they never even check the price before they order a part because they ""don't have time."" The owner Flaming agreed with this when I told him what the tech had told me. When I complained, they told me that an estimate doesn't mean anything but that if I had asked for a quote from them, then it would be binding. I had to fight and fight with them to get $100 off the price, even though they overcharged me $225.
In short, at least one of their techs can't even recognize a two-stage furnace, and they never check the prices of parts (that you will be paying for) before they order them. Don't say you weren't warned.
