I just had a less than positive experience With Flaherty Plumbing. I have had positive experiences in the past when I used them to replace my hot water heater and the contractor I hired for a bathroom remodel used them to buy and install a new tub and address a toilet leak that damaged my ceiling. But today, when I talked to Jeff, one of their plumbers, about a minor kitchen faucet leak that just started yesterday & needs fixing before I leave town, Jeff quoted me $236. When I asked why so high, he explained that they raised the cost of a house visit. But then, Jeff said something about me never really using their services before & that I only got an estimate from them years ago. The conversation just went downhill and the tone in Jeff's voice made me very uncomfortable. I decided not to pursue services and told Jeff that I felt his tone to be inappropriate and found him less than helpful. I hung up feeling disrespected and disappointed because I didn't expect this treatment.

Must admit, I call Flaherty whenever I have plumbing issues but I am most grateful when it's an emergency or a particularly difficult problem. A member of the team just left, and I was very glad he was so familiar with radiant heat, because I have a fairly complicated system of old and new radiant heat (in addition to forced hot air elsewhere in the house). Also, I will always be indebted to Jeff for helping us out when my dad's condo got flooded during the ""polar vortex"" and the New Canaan fire department called us with the news when we were out of state! Jeff was a life saver, and the bill was very reasonable, I thought.

I don't like to write negative reviews but I'm making an exception in this case. Its too bad Flaherty Plumbing chose to charge me for a service visit when they came 1 1/2 hr late to the job and then did nothing. Good customer service would have been to waive the fee in exchange for more plumbing work I needed done in my house in the future. This shortsightedness, poor attitude and poor service has caused them to loose me as a customer. I paid the fee and deleted their number!

Didn't have a great experience with them. The plumber had a bit of an attitude. However it's the work that caused me to write this review. He did a poor job with my toilet installation. It was installed to far back with the back of the toilet resting on the wall Putting stress on the toilet and causing the potential for it to crack. he did tell me about this situation but told be I needed a smaller toilet. After he left I removed it and reinstalled it myself and it fit fine. The bolts just needed to be farther forward on the flange. Why did I have to do this when I hired a professional ?

Called at 3:30pm, got their answering service. Got a call at 7:15am the next morning from Flaherty (caller ID) but they didn't leave a message. Never heard from them since.
